I saw Austin’s missing posters at a bike trail a few months back and always keep him and his family in mind when I’m in the area. I’m around his age so it really hit home. I hope we see this resolved and wish LE found more in their investigation. I wonder how much they looked into and what they found before deciding to treat Austin as a runaway. Hardly any info beyond that conclusion and what is on Facebook.

Sadly, Austin's remains have been found. According to the Find Austin Barrie Facebook page, he was involved in a bicycle accident. The pinned post on that page has more information. Very saddened to hear this, but I'm glad that his family finally has some answers.

So so sad to hear this news.
With that said, at the very least his family can have some closure and work on healing
