It seems like beating a mother is often a factor in these mass shooters,
With all if these diagnoses, it is amazing he functioned at all.
What a mess.
Sadly, I have to say, I think the list is more reflective of the fact that we get the diagnosis wrong depending on how the person, parents (and situation that resulted in the intial reaching out for services). In that system I doubt he would have a consistent provider.
Its so stupid but we have to come up with a diagnosis in 45 minutes to get paid. You can always go back and revise yours, making this up but like this:
but I would think that when he was ordered to therapy for assulating his father,
intermittent explosive disorder might make sense
he goes for a few sessions, and for whatever reason he gets assigned a different therapist. Start over basically, gender of therpist and pt are huge as well as style.
So lets say he feels more comforable with next therapist and reveals dad is beating his mom up. PTSD would come into focus. While talking about this he is flat and sounding hopeless - depression diagnosis would come in. He completes number of a sessions (once a month is a total farce- we are people too! Very rarely was it ever about what the pt was saying -- it was about what the pt was not saying! Nuance is key.
So hypothetically, 4 weeks ago, from 45 minutes with someone, WE really have any continuity?
HE starts again two months later cause he was disrupting class so that clinician works on that angle.
No other provider can alter a colleague - so in the chart, they pile up, and then when the media see it they clump em all and put them all out there.
Which IMO messes main stream american society as far as mental illiness goes.Like to do something like this you have ALL this mental stuff going on.
Better said - Roger Elliot-the conculsion was he was just evil. He had aspergers - there is a difference! Not justifying. So becasue a whole bunch of diagnosis were not all thrown in the media the conclsuion was he was just evil.
If you will notice, he had parents with money - so possibly he only saw one provider -if that makes sense
Basically IMO, resulting in seeing pretty much what we see on some threads here moo. Oh he /she was not mental, they are just trying to use that as an excuse.
Its also like
intermittent explosive disorder is actually a symptom of autism (temper tantums). Disruptive disorder is a throw a way!
I guess what I am thinking is the proper way to have said
mental health records he's been diagnosed with:
moo
to something more akin to, several clincians were attempting to determine if suffered from one or two of the following disorders............................
