Just a long shot but who that she knew would stand to "benefit" from her death? Someone that wanted her job? Doubtful but looking for every angle. If it isn't a stranger, how many people knew her routine?

I might add there are 42 guests right now.

With just the information we've been given now, things are not adding up for me.

There are so may unusual circumstances: CD driving a car she normally didn't drive; parking in a spot she normally didn't park in; potentially forgetting both of her passes (I think someone mentioned her ORCA pass was also at home) when normally she wouldn't forget them; not promptly texting when she normally would have. Individually, they wouldn't be given much thought, but together it's all a bit too much for me to swallow the stranger theories. I hope I'm wrong.

If she was really driving a different car (I can't remember now if that has been confirmed by a reputable source), she could have left the badge(s) in her usual vehicle and not realized it until later. They were 'at home' as for as I know, not necessarily 'in' the home.

Also, wasn't it said that she actually would park there normally?

The not promptly texting actually makes me think more that it could be a stranger... if she'd gotten in the car with someone she knows, wouldn't she have texted "Oh hey, I ran into X, I'll ride with them/have them drop me off" something like that. She at least would have had the opportunity to. A stranger would have probably taken the battery out of the phone and been done (since it actually was turned off - it wasn't pinged elsewhere).

if that is a TYPO ....the streets are so screwy out there can you tell me how far that 202nd sw is from 48th ave sw and 216th St SW

North of 216th. I think the LYNNWOOD Park and Ride is between 200th and 202nd, and 48th Ave SW runs alongside it, I think. It's way NORTH of the crime scene. :)

Have you seen LE vehicles there when you have passed by her home? Does it look like any searches were done up there? Any tape up? Any large LE vehicles?
google maps has recent pics, I believe as early as 11/2015

If you were in a Winter Monday morning heading for work and you had found yourselves in the same situation we have been told CD had, would you be writing 'I must go back home because I forgot my badge, so you just go to work and I'll take a bus' or would you call and speak live to your carpool friend?

BBM In my experience (20+ years as a telecommunications paralegal) subpoenas/search warrants for telecoms to turn over call records usually have a 30 day response requirement. Sometimes as much as 6 weeks is given to respond, even in criminal matters. Because of this I would highly doubt that LE has any call detail records yet.

But if the husband was on the same cell plan, which is highly likely, he could give immediate permission for LE to look at the recent logs.

I'll be honest; I've been tempted to drive by the house, but I live up closer to Brier and have no real excuse and that feels kind of weird. Back when I used to drive in to Seattle to work, I took Cedar to 244th to I-5. But these days I stay up north.

Thanks for the report. I too am very curious as to whether the house was searched. I suppose there wasn't probable cause, and if probable cause is determined from the autopsy - it might be too late.

Ugh. I want more info.

I would probably text. I don't make phone calls too often but I text all the time. So do my friends. And I am an old! Older than Cheryl by quite a bit.

This may have already been discussed but I see she is wearing a lanyard in this photo, thinking that it has her badge and/or bus pass on it? 635906256609049403-deboer.jpg

For those wondering about whether K-9s are being used, this local news source has a photo of a dog participating in the search:
http://mltnews.com/search-and-rescue-crews-comb-for-evidence-related-to-body-found-sunday/

For those still unsure of the exact location of the culvert because of the street numbering system in Mountlake terrace (crazy!), here are the geo-coordinates:
47.777347, -122.290060
You can copy and paste them into any map app/website and you should be good... but if you can, you should try to access Steelman's great map which contains all the relevant locations plus some :) it's linked several times upthread.

But I think they need to use a warrant. If this were to go to trial, the evidence could be thrown out if it was obtained without a warrant.

Yes, I thought so too when I first saw this photo. It also appears to be a work environment from the backdrop. If so, the dress code seems like "neat-casual" as apposed to "office chic" or "Google-slouch". I hope that helps us if/when we get information about the clothing she was found in.

ETA: After a zoom in on the lanyard's text, I can make out the fragment "...Research Cen..."

right, but they often do both. They gain immediate access by permission first, to see if there was someone in contact with her that morning. And they also wait for a warrant so that can have it in case they are going to trial.
