I for the life of me understand nothing of this! Can you elaborate? :dunno:
Not really, because social media isn't allowed.

right, but they often do both. They gain immediate access by permission first, to see if there was someone in contact with her that morning. And they also wait for a warrant so that can have it in case they are going to trial.
Oh, good to know! I thought they would wait. Thank you!

I don't think I quite get it either, but I am finding some interesting street views. Nothing that would crack a case but I'm just getting some visuals. One thing is that the street where Cheryl's car was found, is lined with cars on both sides, and the library lot is pretty full, too. I just find that interesting, even though I have no idea what time of day the images were taken.

I hope the cops have the presence of mind to video tape or photograph everyone coming or going from her wake and funeral. Same applies to all the volunteer searchers before she was found.

I have an uneasy feeling that Cheryl's killer is going to show up in the footage.

I thought of this, too. On Dateline (Hahaha) they usually mention sending officers in street clothes to the service.

Guys, I'm a little uncomfortable with this conversation about watching their house. This is a public website and it would scare the crap out of me to see strangers talking like this. I'm not trying to be rude, but it just doesn't feel right...

If you were in a Winter Monday morning heading for work and you had found yourselves in the same situation we have been told CD had, would you be writing 'I must go back home because I forgot my badge, so you just go to work and I'll take a bus' or would you call and speak live to your carpool friend?

I would have texted. I hate phones. And I'm not the only one.

Someone local addressed this and said it may have been inconvenient to loop around and go back to her house depending on which way they were coming in. I think if I knew other people needed to get to work , I would tell them to go ahead without me. I probably would have called my husband and asked him to bring me the badge if he was still home or would have done without it . It is so sad to think that one small decision like that could alter lives dramatically.

Except, sadly, I just don't believe CD was in a position at that point to leave her badge at home, or decide to go back to get it. 😥

All of that, and - the last thing LE needs is random people playing PI in the middle of their investigation and possibly muddling things up. :cow:

Does anyone think we will hear more today? I was hoping so, but it's close to 5pm here.

Well, dang it, I can't link to this but David Rose of KCPQ News in Seattle just posted on Facebook that the medical examiner has officially ID'ed Cheryl, but the manner and cause of death are still under investigation! Yeesh.

I'm even surprised he could remember what she was wearing as she headed out to work. I'm Cheryl's age, long marriage and no disrespect to our male contributors, guys just don't tend to notice what their wives are wearing after so many years together. Especially on a work day. Unless Cheryl tended to wear the same outfit to work most days, or had a strict dress code at her office.

Agree with an earlier poster that the jacket could well have been a casual jacket and not necessarily work type clothing.

To me, wearing a jacket suggests she was either on her way out of the house or was coming back in when he last saw her. If indeed that was actually what she was wearing.

:thinking::thinking:

It's very uncommon for people in the Seattle area to wear dress coats at all, let alone to work, and unfortunately almost everyone has a black NorthFace or Patagonia jacket - it's almost a running joke here. It wouldn't even be incredulous if she wasn't wearing a jacket at all, as many people here wear cardigans or layers of clothing. Cheryl didn't have a strict dress code according to the pictures showing her inside the Fred Hutchinson building.

I agree with you, also, about husbands. I commuted WITH my husband to Seattle for years and I know for a fact he had no idea what I was wearing - and I was with him. :)

I'll be honest; I've been tempted to drive by the house, but I live up closer to Brier and have no real excuse and that feels kind of weird.

I want to leave flowers at the growing memorial at the culvert but have been waiting for the investigation to be done.

It's extremely hard having absolutely no info.
