Got it. Then I think it was just a misspeak if the sheriff said the SW corner. That location to hide a body makes a heck of lot of sense and it would not be obvious to people driving or walking. And the convenience of a parking space! Whoever put her there knows the area and chose that place specifically. I take back the haphazard dumping I mentioned when I thought it was on the flower side!

Maybe he misspoke? When he was talking at the press conference he looked up when he was trying to recollect SW corner. He did say in his own words SW corner.
Maybe he was recalling driving from north to south, and if that was the case then maybe SW would be the correct lingo and it would be the wooded area? IMOO.

Someone drove Cheryl's car out of the house to pretend it was her... That same person parked it in the place it was found, sent the text messages to ping in that location and switched the mobile off. The same or another person before or after this disposed of her... Poor Cheryl :(

I think that's why I got confused. The SW corner is not the corner that they had blocked off. That was the NE corner. I think his internal compass just was unreliable for a moment under pressure !! I know mine goes haywire sometimes haha.

I totally think that's possible!

Her driveway is accessible by the busy road (right on the corner) yet also partially hidden by a fence on the side of her house. It is an opportune place to surprise someone without people being able to see.

So, if it is true that she never drove her car off the driveway, the question is whether she was killed after exiting her house, or before.

If it was before, then it had to be after 6:50 AM when her husband left for work (assuming that the sheriff is correct and not making some strategic move in publicly clearing him).

Wish we knew a little more about the surveillance.

Oh I edited to add on my post that maybe he was thinking of driving from the north to the south and if that was the case then that wooded area could be SW in his mind?

It looked like the creek ran N to S along Cedar on the side of the street she was found where the sign is (not sure which direction the current runs in). It seems like a creek/ditch with a lot of grass, sticks, plant barriers and corners in it. I definitely don't get the impression that a body could have traveled any distance in it. I could be wrong but it seems impossible upon viewing.

ETA, her house is north and slightly west of of where she was found.

I know her house was up there, i was describing where the park was in relation to her house, someone earlier posted a map of her address and it showed the park closeby. The park is like a block west from her house, and contains lyons creek. Lyons creek then weaves down to that culvert, eventually. There are a lot of sticks and such, but that could explain why she wasnt found for a week. Her body was traveling? I saw a news video that the water was rushing and deep in the culvert area. If someone could link it thatd be nice, im on my phone and unable to do so. However, in the video the water appeared to be traveling current wise from east to west which makes my theory further unlikely, but i could be wrong.

If Cheryl was seen in that house footage I think LE would say 'Cheryl was last SEEN at 7 leaving the house in her car' and by now we all had seen images where it was clear that Cheryl was leaving the house that Monday morning, alive and at the wheel of her car. I wonder if C carpool had pboned her instead of writing, whoever was sending those texts would have s*at themselves.

That text about her badge being left at home still has to be accounted for...
if she didn't text that, who knew about the badge?
That text is crucial...
IMOO.

Yeah, but we're not talking left and right here. It's pretty clear that two corners are on the West side of the intersection (on the side of I-5 and Puget Sound) and one is on the East (on the side of Eastern WA!) The guy understandably has his brain full at the moment. I get N and S messed up sometimes depending where I am on I-5!

Someone who was close to her. Idk tho killing someone at their house and only having like 1 minute to do it is pretty ballsy. I doubt they used a gun, itd draw too much attention unless there was a silencer...which would explain the bloodstains. God i dont want to even thinknthat :( i still think something happened to her after she left.

I am wondering if she picked up anyone along the way to the transit station?

The badge could have been chosen as an excuse to explain why she couldn't join tbe carpool. It would be to delay colleagues to know she was missing and to delay they begin calling family or police. This crime was very well thought but it will be discovered and hopefully justice will be served for Cheryl.

Her work badge was found at her house.
If it was an excuse by someone, then someone would have had to have known she left it at home.

Right?
My gut (by no means foolproof!) says that this was likely premeditated and targeted, but made to seem like a random crime.

Whoever did this knew her car pool routine. Knew there was a badge. But how did they know it was at home? (That made sense when the husband had not yet been cleared, not so much now.) Whoever it was did NOT want her car pool friend calling the cops or the husband who would then immediately be compelled/obligated to call the police. That would explain the "forgot the badge" text.

I wish we knew if she really would have turned around to get her badge or if she normally would have just continued to work and gotten a temp pass.

Why would someone power down her phone? Why would SHE power down her phone? If the perp was cool with her car being located where she normally parks, why not just leave the phone their too? Was it because they wanted to make it seem like jumped on a bus with her phone and purse and could have been jumped somewhere else on her commute? Maybe.

I think someone who she knew enough well to pick up would never harm her and she wouldn't pick someone she didn't know well. As her niece said she was inteligent, brilliant, street smart and I would add a mature quiet woman who wouldn't have risky behaviours.

But her husband left before her and arrived in Mukilteo at work during the time period her phone was ringing. He was verified to leave the home and arrive in Mukilteo in the time span it would take to get to Mukilteo. So who could it have been?

Perp would powe down phone to not be tracked
She would power it down because its dying or she thought she was having a serious convo with someone. Not sure why they wouldnt leave the phone there unless it may have contained their info. If she wasnt attacked in her car thatd explain why her phone wasnt left there maybe. Or maybe like i said earlier they wanted it to be seen like a missing persons case where an adult goes missing on their own freewil and just walks away. ...which cops have informed me is legal and fine

Yes in my opinion it was at home just to construct all the story around the badge. The badge was not forgotten that morning as for me there was anyone anymore to forget that badge :( the badge simply had to be at home because it was said in the texts that it was at home.

I dunno. It makes more sense to me that she was killed or abducted at home on the driveway on the side of her house, behind the fence that separates her driveway from the busy street. No clue what that cause of death could be, but it seems less risky and conspicuous than killing someone or abducting them on 58th St where her car was parked. And I refuse to believe that she headed through the park and was accosted there. It is hardly, if AT ALL, a short cut to go through the park. It is just a more rugged, muddy, dangerous route to get to a place that she could easily and quickly (maybe 2 mins) get to safely on a paved sidewalk.

ETA: why would someone be limited to one minute if they killed her at her house?
