WA - Civil rights activist Rachel Dolezal pretending to be black, parents say #1

I think we're about to hear even more about Rachel Dolezal's "death threats" during her brief stint as Spokane NAACP President.

I was reading at another site (can't link), that has made a connection between one of the death threat letters sent and postmarked from Oakland, CA to NAACP office in Spokane in late February of this year (the first one-- second one was in May). Because of the public records laws, and the investigation into the ethics violations of RD as a Spokane Police Ombudsman, her official travel records are available to the public.

And guess what? She was in Oakland, CA Feb 17-18 on official business attending training for Risk Management in Law Enforcement. The site has posted copies of restaurant receipts and other travel documents.

What a coincidence, eh? Even more coincidence is that the second mailing in May from Oakland, CA to NAACP in Spokane was determined to be from the same source.

I hope we hear a lot more about this soon. As in, a further criminal investigation and charges. Because I personally think that's just a little more than a coincidence, and think she probably did it herself for attention/ sympathy in her new NAACP President position.

Wouldn't that be interesting (and karma)-- Rachel Dolezal charged with a federal mail hate crime?

Wow. Just wow. I had to go back and re-read because I didn't recall the postmarked packages from Oakland, only the non postmarked package/letter.

IF it is proven Rachel is behind these packages sent from Oakland she should be prosecuted to the fullest. I'm amazed this woman thought she was untouchable. It will be interesting to see whether or not she faces criminal charges anytime soon.

Aren't there penalties for lying to LE, making false police reports? I would imagine there would be some type of federal penalties as she used the USPS to perpetrate these claims. IMO

Her ability to frame or influence what's said about her is over, thank goodness. What's beginning to come out are the details- documented- about her lies and fraud and unethical conduct. That's what is of most interest to me, and IMO, the most relevant aspect of this story.

Agree. The way the stories are coming unraveled are becoming interesting. Years of made up stuff, so many contradictions. It's kinda like watching to see what else she was up to all these years, pretending to be someone she wasn't. The lengths some people go. For what?

I found them, thanks to you and Donjeta, and was able to download them to my Kindle.


The gist of it all, IMO, is that RD seized the opportunity of her appointment to fashion the commission as she saw fit. How unsurprising that she seemingly bullied a city employee to get her way, overstepped her authority, instructed the employee to falsify official minutes, and was at the center of most of the discord documented in the report.

And, when reprimanded, now claims harassment and a hidden agenda by the Mayor and the City Council and the police.

Fact is, the citizens of Spokane took the initiative to have that oversight commission created in response to a act of police brutality they didn't want to see repeated. Bravo, Spokane.

Now those citizens don't have a functioning commission (too few members). The other two commissioners cited in the report have reportedly stepped down for their own reasons. Only Dolezal hasn't. Because.....fill in the blank.

Such endless hypocrisy for someone who says the "cause" comes first.

Yes, a menu of felonies and misdemeanors, depending on what they feel can be proven. Mail fraud is one, a federal charge.

I think (hope!) she's in very hot water now, and there is momentum to investigate and charge her. Her acts of fraud were not victimless. It's not just about a spray tan and a weave, and fake claims of being a professor, and which race she "identifies with". She fabricated hate crimes, which started with claims of discrimination and oppression, and escalated to, IMO, the mail fraud hate crimes. It's really beyond believable, IMO, that "someone else" in Oakland California sent hate mail to the NAACP Spokane chapter address, naming specifically RD, just days after RD was IN OAKLAND, and a mere 8-10 weeks into her term as president. I'm not buying it at all. She did it, IMO, for attention, and to be the noble, long suffering oppressed victim again.
