Good Morning Everyone,
Tranaice, I understood exactly what you were saying and think you put everything into perspective perfectly!
I also was quite disappointed in last nights show as it left some doubt as to his physical possibilities as a match. Like has been stated here, height, weight and age are such variables, and KOIN didn't take into account how investigators look at these things. They are relative facts.
Also, having the two newscasters for the evening both say they didn't think it was him was kind of a slap in the face to their employer who had spent a lot of time and money doing the shows. Pretty poor taste on their part I thought. Naturally my mouth dropped open when I heard them say that!
Since the 1st promo I watched I have had a feeling about H-bach in that his speech is a bit slurred and am wondering if he has had any small strokes? It could explain one reason why he is contradicting what he wrote in his book.
But I thought he said two things in that first spot that rang home for me. One was when he said Mayfield would have been a very logical subject {or suspect ?} and that he'll just have to live with the fact he was the guy's alibi. His decision to eliminate him as a suspect because of that phone call he said couldn't have been made by the hijacker has been proven by you guys to be totally wrong. In making that error in judgement and not revisiting the case from a different angle with a different drop-point, for example, he let himself be set up as an alibi. H-bach forgot to mention he never asked Mayfield exactly where he was at 8:13 that evening. Unforgivable the way he ran the case IMHO. I do hope this fact is made very clear to whoever is running the case right now at the FBI!
Thanks for all your work Left, which I am sure will continue on. Am anxious to see the repurcussions now, somehow thinking you have made some good media connections, and hope our Adnoid is going to give Peggy Gilligan a jingle this morning! YaYa!
Scandi
thanks Scandi. Couldn't agree more
I felt like last nights show was a slap in the face. We were used for sweeps week. KOIN burned a bridge last night, that can't be fixed.
It was pre-meditated. I will explain.
Since the beginning, KOIN has been worried about being sued for suspecting Mayfield.
Hence, they brought it out like we thought he was Cooper, and made everyone believe it.
then, on the last night, they purposely had their anchors say "they didn't think it was him" so that Teddy can't sue them. I know for a fact that was their entire motive.
You can't say on tv, I know someone is db cooper. that is why we and KOIN said he was a good suspect and should have been investigated. PLus, none of us was on that airplane.
But, we all know what happened on 11/24/71, and why it happened in Portland, and why h-bach was the lead investigator.
Like everyone else in media (with a few exceptions), they use the public.
However, we knew the potential and we used KOIN to get the story out. National shows have been calling us, and this story should air this evening or tomorrow on Inside Edition.
You know what they say on the news, "if it bleeds, it leads". Just like Don Henley would say "dirty laundry", "get the widow on the set, we need dirty laundry".
