Sheriff's major crimes detectives are investigating circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body Friday afternoon in the Dishman Hills Wildlife Preserve south of the Spokane Valley city limits.

Body found in Dishman Hills Natural Area

Two hikers found the body in the Dishman Hills Natural Area Friday afternoon. The man was found approximately 500 feet into the natural area.
Authorities have confirmed that the body is that of a 47-year-old male and that he had visible signs of trauma

"SPOKANE, Wash. - Sheriff's detectives arrested a 34-year-old Spokane transient Wednesday for the April 30th homicide of a man killed in the Dishman Hills area south of Spokane Valley.

"Roland Benton was booked into the Spokane County Jail about noon Wednesday on a single count of First-Degree Murder. He stands accused of the bludgeoning death of 46-year-old Spokane resident Douglas J. Klages..."
