Delays are inherent in the system but the defense is in no hurry at this point as they attempt to build a valid and strong defense to save this young adult from the extreme sentence. It seems all too often, justice is S L O W . . . .

It must be agonizing to the family of the victim.....

He meted out the 'extreme sentence' to Jenise and he should receive that himself. smh

Well he can't get the most 'extreme' sentence as he was under 18 when he 'allegedly' ( :shakehead: ) committed the crimes of aggravated rape and murder.

From what I understand, the most 'extreme' sentence he could get is LWOP (not mandatory LWOP because of his age at the time of the crimes, but still an option as a sentence.) Which, when you rape a child, strangle them, dump them in a bog, and throw a wood pallet over the top of their body, is pretty much the sentence one would expect.

LWOP for child rape and murder would likely only be considered an 'extreme' sentence to a child raping murderer. But that's just MOO.

Bumping as a reminder that GG's next hearing is coming up this Friday (Halloween:dracula:).

from KrazyCat:

Article from Kitsap Sun, posted 10-22-2014. Because of copyright, I am just summarizing parts and pasting a link.

Thanks for the recap, CrazyKat! Many of us don't have (and prolly will not purchase) a subscription to The Kitsap Sun, so we cannot read the article.

And "reason of insanity" or "diminished capacity" sounds about right. But he better get used to lots of testing, IMO. There will have to be proof of either one of those defenses. And what will his wrestling or football coaches say when asked about any signs of either of those diagnoses? If they saw 'em, why did they let him play? If they didn't see them, then when did either sickness begin? Hmmmmm.

I have forgotten, what was this appearance about? His ability to stand trial? Plea entry?

ETA: I just emailed the Kitsap Sun to inquire about coverage of this.

What next? Trial? Date set?

Has he entered a plea? If not, that will be next...or it may have taken place concurrently with this appearance?
