I don't know who would be responsible but I would hope that Kitsap County has a victim services community outreach for this community just in case heaven forbid this not a ''one time incident'' so that others may come forward and get the support they need.

Management had a grief counselor today for anyone that need to see one. I went, and she was very good.

They didn't do EVERYTHING wrong. They let her wander too freely. It looks to me like they kept her clean, well-fed, boosted her self-confidence, enjoyed her as the baby of the family, etc. IMHO, were it not for a sicko, this girl was headed for a great life filled with joy and wonder.

How do you know from a few choice pictures likely selected by the parents, that she was always kept clean? How well-fed can you be when from age 3 yrs (according to neighbors in the MHP) you're allowed to run around without any supervision in a good size MHP? I'm sure she didn't know to go home "at lunch time".....and she surely wasn't well-fed by her parents on Sunday.......when she was gone when they woke up (who made her breakfast?) and she was gone....did they feed her lunch that day?...dinner?.......no they waited until late in the evening to even call police...........why weren't they concerned much much earlier in the day if she was hungry and had eaten?

I agree. Id say this is another reason why neighbors are so angry. I do know that one of the family members were posting about J just like the rest of us were. They seemed scared for her. You really don't know. It's scary.

I hope my reply did not come off negatively. After I read it, I wasn't sure I came across how I meant to! I imagine people do feel angry because they probably feel duped. My murdering, stupid family member fooled a lot of people too. He was from a small town and I was surprised his family never had anything worse than shunning in retaliation; surprised but relieved. It will not help anyone if people retaliate and more people end up jailed. (I am not sure how much I would comply to this if it was my child, but I hope my head would take over.)

Suspect posted a photo today on Facebook with a big smile on their face. I really wonder what was going through their head. Did they feel scared at all? Guilty? Perhaps cocky and achieved? Nothing at all? I don't understand.

That pic is dated 8/9/13, so it was posted last year.

kids are amazingly resilient and really do well with their 'regular routine'. Blessing is that school starts soon. The schools would also have counsellors available, I would hope, if the children need additional support.

Suspect was there at the vigil. It hurts because it feels insulting and yet again, I really wonder what went through their head when they saw all the people celebrating and mourning J.

They often are in these cases.

Rape is not about sex? Why is it called sexual assault then?

Because the assault on the victim is sexual in nature, the act against the victim itself.

Welcome, StrawberryShortcake! Thank you for keeping us updated. You and ShadyLady have been so helpful!

Social media is just exploding - the local kids and their friends are all over it. I'm glad LE is on the scene. So much anger going on tonight.

Anyway, thanks guys, it's been quite a day, eh? I meant to quickly check in this morning and ended up hanging around til now. I'm glad that Jenise's murderer was arrested - that's well worth a lost day.

G'nite!

I've known kids who have enlisted at 17 so I am finding myself with little patience that this perp is considered a juvie

[modsnip]. I'm sure he will be charged as an adult. That MHP must be in bits right now. I feel so sorry for her whole family circle.

Also while parenting may have been questionable there is NO ONE else to blame but the sick minded evil person who harmed this child.

We should but the world does not work like that. Parents make their decisions based upon how the world actually is, not how it should be. In an ideal world, a kid should be able to roam where ever they want, but we live in this world. In this world there are pedophiles, kidnappers, murderers, or just plain reckless jerks. In this world, a kid of 6 cannot be unsupervised for more than a few minutes.

Yes! Agreeing with this 150%

This may be a very inappropriate train of thought, so I will delete if offensive-
People are very skeptical of the suspect. I have a family member who goes to school with him, she is shocked as well.
So I have to ask, how often does this type of crime happen when the suspect just doesn't fit the profile? Sorry, I can't word this right. This crime was just SO heinous. In past cases, there seems to be a lot more going on with the suspect, people don't have a hard time believing it.

I'm NOT saying LE is wrong , but I do wonder if something significant will come out about suspect during this. Sudden mental illness, trauma, heck even a brain injury.

Naming the suspect, I thought, would give a certain amount of closure and it hasn't.

IMO... Link above reports interesting findings comparing brain activity in criminals and non-criminals...

Additionally... The link explores ethical quandaries surrounding the issues...
