Of course depression alone is not enough, but that indicates something to me. Often depression has associated comorbidities such as an anxiety disorder etc. An court ordered assessment will be forth with.

Oh yeah of course- you said it much better than I could. I think it would have to be a much more serious than depression + anxiety. I take a small dose of an SSRI for anxiety - and situational depression (post partum)- very mild. So I mean, it would have to be something much worse to affect his behavior in that sense- like something having to do with anti-social personality disorder, conduct disorder, etc.

anyone have any thoughts on the police letting 4 days go by before returning to get his DNA sample? it seems like as soon as he refused initially he should have gone to the top of the list of POI's - a 17 year old is too upset to let us take a cheek swab? this is odd...

how fast were they getting the DNA tests done - wouldnt one of his family members come back as a very close match so that they would know it must be a relative of theirs?

I'm baffled by that too. Maybe it was sort of a slow suicide. He commits an awful deed, gets caught, can't help but get thrown in jail....and then life is basically over.

Dunno. Very messy crime from the standpoint of evidence left all over the place. Not remotely sophisticated. But I still have the nagging sensation he had his eye (and more) on little girls for quite awhile and there could be history turn up. MOO.

I don't think they had a male blood relative living in the home with them.

I don't feel like this is a kid who was a seasoned pedophile. It feels SO much like Alanna Gallagher. Little girl who isn't supervised at all times, known to her murderer. The only difference is this kid *seemingly* had a decent life going for him. I don't know. This doesn't seem premeditated or well thought out.

But if u are wondering about what the suspects brother posted, it was presented as one thing, but something else kind of leaked through.

It was basically along the lines of ' We are so relieved that little Jenise got justice, but sad that it comes at the expense of my brother getting life without parole.'

Also, it said[ paraphrased] ' so happy that Jenise found some peace, but now our entire family has to move, after mom is stabilized, because of the death threats.'

So again, back handed criticism of the victim. Like blaming her for their family's predicament. Nothing about the brothers obvious personal responsibility. jmo

I think it's possible they got a partial match from a family member. I also think that they were on to him early but didn't have enough for an arrest. I do believe that is why they maintained a huge police presence at the community up until the arrest.....for the safety of the residents.

Ugh, right? Yeah, the detective made it crystal clear that GG's behavior altered, depending on whether he was alone or in the company of interviewers. And not once, but twice. Good try GG bit it ain't gonna fly with LE.

I can understand kids having sleepovers if their friends don't live close-by but when they live in the same MHP why would they be sleeping over?

I totally understand the whole fun thing about having friends sleep over. But he was SEVENTEEN. And the younger sibs all slept together in one room. So where did GG sleep when he slept over?

Little kids love to have sleepovers with their friends. But 17 and 16 yr olds? When the 17 yr old is a few doors away from his own bed? :waitasec:

I kind of understand. To normal kids, this whole thing in the neighborhood SHOULD be very upset. I would maybe feel like he might be taking it a bit too personally but if he is mentally I'll/depressed, I wouldn't immediately be suspicious.

And that's probably why I am not a member of LE.

Too upset to give a DNA sample but not too upset to post on fb that the FBI were in his house.
Mental illness my a** he sound like a faker who faked being upset when asked for DNA and faked being mentally ill while being questioned. He acted normally when he was in the room on his own. He was just too stupid to realize he was being watched. It's pretty clear from the PC statement that LE knew what he was at.

That just seems so odd to me. My kids were well past the 'sleepover' stage at 17. the only time they wanted to sleep at at friends at that age was when the parents were out of town.

But if they were just a couple houses away and could sleep in their own beds, they would have walked back home and crashed. jmo

He certainly has unusual behavior refusing to talk looking at a spot on the wall and not moving until the cops leave then he movies and stretches and is if to get comfortable. or he may just be messing with the cops.

Im guessing option B here, since the report was very specific about he refused to wipe his nose etc and oh btw that was only when he knew we were watching him. (yes I would assume I was always being watched while I was at the station, much less afte being read my rights, but you know what I mean...)

Just checked to answer CatFancier's question because I was sure I'd seen anime on GG's fb . Well the fb page is no longer with us as of the last hour or less. But yes, Cat, I was sure I saw some anime on it and I was wondering because there is a lot of anime that is not ' ' but features as the main characters young girls in nighties or undies and that is all they wear. I had a ' chat friend' a few years back, male, who loved it and said ' its nothing sexual' and I wondered how could that not be if it's a child half dressed? I don't look at anime but I know it's got a huge following. Thanks for reminding me.
