Great find Elphaba- I wish I knew the contact info on where to forward in Brenmmerton for you- Odd feeling when I read that and from these youngster's antics, sounds like something they would do. Mabe his mom Kathy or her friend who is helping her will see this and report it??

Great sleuthing and hopes to Joe coming home.

BTW- I looked up the name of the site, and Chris Volz is an 80's musician from aa band called 5 Bolts? Im not really into that type of music, so for all I know, he may be well known on the classic rock scene:rocker:

Thanks for calling it in, Chico... I lost track of the thread and just realized I had not checked in a while. I hope it can help in some way. It really makes one ponder as to what is going on: is it really him, or someone using his image and name as their hat.

Chico, I'm glad that you spoke to someone that might really know what's going on.

Question: if someone "voluntarily" goes missing and LE discovers that, don't they let the family know that the person doesn't want to be bothered?

  • #309
Elphaba, Mcdraw, BeavisMom, Believe, and anyone else who has done anything to contribute to this board to find Joe, (whew- sorry such long list ),

WHEW!!! It felt SOOOO good to actually speak to LE and THE detective on charge to boot. He was a VERY nice man, and wasnt aware of WS. He wasnt aware of the forum that was just found (BTW- KUDOS ELPHABA, what a great find :blowkiss:). I personally have put 100s of hours dedicated to emails, letters, researching the web, speaking to family and liasons, etc., as well as many of you have. I know there is still a LONG road ahead of LE, it felt so awesome to help contribute and share WS with Det. Davis. When Joe's case was in the spotlight forum, there was quite a few posts, so hopefully we can give BPD some useful info.

I am not a family member of Joes, but heard about him here when a family friend posted her first post about Joe (Sharon if y'all remmeber) and Im glad y'all have stuck by me in our quest to bring this young man home.

I dont believe he ran away. I think the forum that Elphaba found was made by the same people who made the MS that mocks him. In fact, the pic they used for him is widely publicized in many articles regarding Joes disappearance.

Im not sure, as people were talking about this in the Nick F case in Seattle. I do know that they would take his name out of the various National Databases for Missing, and he is still listed as missing/endangered.

I tend to think it was made by the same people that made the MS page also. Particularly since it says something like "it feels like I'm running away" or something like that!

There is no rule of thumb, actually. IIRC, there is a post on here from DazzDeb containing an email purportedly from Kathy. In it Kathy states that LE said they would let her know if they found Joe alive so that at least her family would no longer be tortured with not knowing.

I have seen cases where LE does not inform the family that they have found the person because the person makes that request. The case is usually closed out, however, on the desk of the person responsible. The database stuff may not get pulled, especially if the person was put into the database by family to begin with.

This is why we need "Campaign for the Missing" passed nationally, IMO. Let's standardize these processes....

Ok, first time posting, here goes...
Just curious, has anyone here registered to that website to view all of "Joe Pichler's" posts?

8.2.06...
"Your detailed planning, role playing and half-hearted attempts are funny,do like me Ive been dead for months and pick between your desire to end life and to continue living."

Crossing my fingers this isn't somebody's sick joke.

I think that if Joe left on his own and was smart enough to cover his tracks to the point of not being traceable, it wouldn't make sense for him to go online using anything (name and pics) that shows he is still around. So this makes no sense, other than it might really be a sick joke.

Has anybody heard anything about what came of the People article?

He might not be allowed to say who he's heard from and not do to privacy reasons, which is understandable.
With an ungoing case, not naming people who may have given information or not seems a safety concern.

Well all, I spent over 10 hours on that forum last night and tracked down some pretty amazing observations. I do NOT believe it is Joe posting there- They are random posts, but this board is being controlled by some locals in the CO/WY/WI areas. They ALL joined the forum within a week of each other and there about 10 involved. :mad:They mock Joe in posts, and then "pretend" its Joe posting in his defense. BTW, the quote that was shown about suicide, is not related to Joe. It was a dumb post made by the 'fake' Joe in response to something another poster wrote. :confused:I took over 3 pages of notes. I thought about typing them out, but since I just spoke to the dect. last week, I am going to call him back on Monday am and let him know what he thinks- I had to join the forum to obtain access, so hopefully they might get an IP address or something, since it actuially has Joe's name on the orginal acct??I will let y'all know what I find out.... I hope this helps bring Joe home!

ITA agree with you. Joe did NOT leave on his own. These people are mocking him in the worst way. What a horrible way to treat someone, let alone a presumably dead one. I think these people have some knowledge of what happened to him. Convenient they are in the WA area??As far as the People article, I have asked the org. poster (Dazz Deb) a few times and she said she would get back to us. I just can't imagine People going back on their word if they told Kathy they would print it. I have experince working with the media, and People is one of the high-rated mags known for respectabilty, so Im a lil confused.

To be honest with you, he is pretty forth-coming, and I dont think this issue would be something that was 'confidential'. I asked a simple question, and got a simple answer :)
