They would still need to confirm the pregnancy and conduct a physical exam before scheduling an ultrasound. At least where I live they would. You can't make that kind of diagnosis yourself and call and request an ultrasound. It can only be ordered by a Dr. Imo

If she was NOT pregnant by chance and was killed because she thought she was...that is awful enough but if she was indeed pregnant, then whoever killed her might be charged with two murders, at least in some states...jmo

I'm pretty sure in Washington it only applies if the baby is a quick child. (if the baby can survive outside of the womb.) Unless they changed the law recently. I think there are about 28 states that can charge someone with fetal homicide if the mother is in the early stages of pregnancy. Sometimes they can get around that, though. In Colorado they still charged Chris Watts in the death of his unborn son. Imo

It could be, but it still seems strange that they would schedule one if they weren't sure. I didn't see any indication that this was her first visit for the pregnancy. Just that it was the first sonogram. Imo

Different Law Enforcement tend to handle cases in their own way. Sometimes we do get much info early in and sometimes they are radio silent until an arrest. It did strike me a bit odd the Sheriff spokesperson was willing to indicate POI was the owner of the house but no name. I'm amazed the press hasn't leaked it. Yet.

thanks for confirming my thinking, I thought maybe i was over thinking it but im glad im not the only one who thought it was odd. i know they have their reasons and hopefully whatever they are will help solve the case

Such a sad case, but a few things I haven't seen discussed before, and which might potentially be important arent clear to me:

-Why did Kassanndra as being an 33 yo live with her mom and step dad? Just because they all wanted too or did she recently lose her job/house or something?
-The pregnancy hasn't been confirmed by any medical professional right? Can this (potentially fake) pregnancy have been used to get someone to be together with her? Like blackmail or a desperate action to get someone to fall in love with her?
-Why the does the possibility of twins keep being mentioned if she didn't have any ultrasounds before? What makes her think it might be twins? I don't think there has been IVF procedure or anything related which increases the chances of having multiples.
-Is the house being searched the potential baby daddies, or does an ex boyfriend from longer ago live there?

House being searched is potential baby daddy's. That's what is listed in property records.

Family thinks it might be twins because they are a family who tend to have twins, so there is a genetic reason to suspect twins.

Pregnancy was evident to mother and I don't want to question victim's assertion of being pregnant without strong reason because she is missing.

It's cheaper to live with your parents and have a suite than it is to find affordable, safe housing in Tacoma. I learned this from another person in the thread. Housing costs are very high there and she might not have wanted to waste money on apartment. She might also have been saving up for her own place. We really can't know unless her mother speaks about it.

If the perp dropped off her vehicle I wonder how he got back to his vehicle. Maybe there is more than one person involved. Unless he walked back, I guess.

I agree with what you are thinking here. Perhaps she gave him some sort of ultimatum. Maybe she tried to force him to accept this pregnancy and used it to get him to be with her instead of the "other" woman. Or to get some money from him in the way of support.
Whatever, I do also believe (if he is responsible) that it was spur of the moment/ act of rage. JMO

This sounds very out of character given the way she has been described by her mother and given the nature of her relationship with her ex, which (MOO) seemed to end because he treated her badly and she had enough of it. Also sure that her parents were so excited about this baby and would be building a village of support around KC to make sure she thrived.

There are several pregnancy test centers and reproductive clinics, including a Planned Parenthood in Tacoma. You can walk in a get a pregnancy test there; some places offer ultrasounds for free, especially if they are religious. My guess is that she had a confirmed positive at a local clinic and was just going for her standard ultrasound as part of clinical pregnancy care (and to see if she was having twins).

Wonder if LE has a way of checking paternity using pregnancy test results? It seems like the focus on this pregnancy test will be used to establish motive and decide how to charge suspect. But the paternity issue will linger until KC is found.

There are so many cliffs all around the entire point defiance park. Problem is if it made it into the water... it’s gonna be maybe near impossible to find. It’s the puget sound, it’s a deep inlet of the Pacific Ocean. If it wasn’t thrown into the woods, maybe hopefully it didn’t make it into the water. People get trapped on the hillside and there’s always rescues.

So true. I’m actually surprised the perp didn’t ditch the car in water - there or in one of the many, many bodies of water around Tacoma.
