You can easily walk to Owens Beach after the gates close by driving to the ferry dock or marina and walking a sidewalk path directly there. Just a hundred yards or so.

^ Thank you.
Do you know if there are cameras at the gate?
I am not aware of any at the entrance. There are cameras at the ferry dock but it doesn't sound like he went on the ferry. There a lots of businesses along that route to the park that would have cameras though.

No word from any reporters on searches or activity at Wapato Park or areas in Pt Defiance or elsewhere, right?
Here's info on Pt Defiance, and a map.
Is this park accessible at night?
Five Mile Drive & Trails - Metro Parks Tacoma

eta...oh, just saw above post

It is accessible, and there is a zoo, rather open, with the largest population of red wolves. It is before Owen Beach. I don’t know how accessible it is at night, but there is plenty of wildlife in that area.

I may have exaggerated a bit--but I do think if they have video of him driving the car, as it is being abandoned near his home, that he would have to have a very good story about why he was driving HER car, and she is now missing.

It is not against the law for him to drive her car, unless he killed her first.

It would be a longshot. While the area is near the middle of the city, its an open area with two intersections into that stretch of road. Both sides don't seem to have cameras. There looks to be a camera near the transit hub but that would most likely face inward. If they had a video of SOMEONE driving her car, they would have strong evidence for an arrest as well as being able to build a timeline for when it was there. That in conjunction with the cell phone ping could paint a better picture. Was the ping at Point Defiance before or after the car was dropped off? Was the car dropped Friday or Tuesday?

Edit - To add to the cameras - most places only get cameras that are good enough to cover their property and nothing beyond that. If there are cameras in the area they would either be pointed in the wrong way or the area we would need to see would be in the back with bad quality. I say work backwards. Find out when the car was put there and use that to check the cameras in the area.

It would be hard to carry a body though not hard to carry a back pack stuffed with trash bags if your willing to make a few trips.

For anyone that says it would be impossible for someone to not see anything go down at 5 mile drive; I have sat down there several times with no one passing me for several minutes while I looked out over the water. Its unlikely but not impossible. You can walk the entire length of Owen's beach to Salmon beach and not see anyone after half a mile away from the parking lot.

Thinking of Tacoma and Pierce County police, and wishing them good luck!

Did I read somewhere that her weight was 180? Surely he had help.

Yes, she is listed at 5' 7" 180 lbs. It would be incredibly difficult for him to move her around by himself for very far. That's why I highly doubt she is at Owen Beach. Far too many people along the pathway and beach area pretty much all the time during open hours. It's too far of a walk to do it at night. However, there are numerous spots along 5 mile drive that are easy access with a car that don't have constant crowds around. My guess is if she is somewhere in Pt Defiance it's down the cliffs of one of the view points.

On the other hand, the ping of the phone could have just been someone tossing her phone there. Unfortunately, there are sooooo many rural areas nearby with dense forest that she could be anywhere.

I think money is the basic motive in nearly all the murders of pregnant women...other motives may be tied to it, but the bottom line is they do not want to pay support to a woman/child they do not want to be with...jmo
I'm thinking it may be a little more complex. They may have argued about pregnancy. He may have wanted her to end it and she refused.

He was living with and committed to another woman. She could not have been happy to learn he would be the father of another women's child. She may not have known they had been seeing each other. She may have threatened to leave him if he didn't fix the problem. Maybe she gave him an ultimatum.

I wonder who initiated the meeting that morning. Did he tell her he wanted to talk things out? Early morning is an odd time to meet. Did he have a plan? Did they have an argument that escalated to violence? Whatever happened, he didn't seem to cover his tracks very well.

I haven't seen anything in MSM about the K street POI currently living with or committed to a gf. Roommates were mentioned. ;)

Can you provide a link to this info you mention about roommates?

She wasn’t reported missing until Friday. Her mother got the days and her plans for those days mixed up. She knew she was going to spend time with her best friend too
The friend said it was out of character for Kassie not to show up for the ultrasound on Wed. If she tried to call her and didn’t get an answer, wouldn’t that indicate to her something is wrong? And this friend didn’t call Kassies family or anyone I know if this was my best friend, I would have panicked

Not exactly. The Sheriff said that they made a dynamic entry to get the people out. You make a good point. It's unknown who resided at the K St house.

I would just be so surprised if KC gave him an ultimatum. She seemed very happy with the single mom route--she wanted to be a mom, not a wife, and there is a big difference IMO.

I'm not sure her mom would have accepted a serious relationship between these two, as one can see from her media statements about him. Speculating here, in response: I wonder if he knew she was pregnant. I wonder if he knew she was going to keep the baby. I wonder if he realized she was actually ecstatic about it and she may have said she wouldn't lie to his girlfriend about the father's identity--she may have said she hoped he would be a part of the baby's life. She may have mentioned an ultrasound and he might have lost it. He might have realized that he could not control her anymore.

She would not be the first pregnant woman who refused to be controlled by the wishes of the baby's father. He would not be the first father to kill her for deciding to keep a baby and be a mother, with or without him, to refuse to live a lie for his convenience. To want the world for her child... MOO.

I believe you. I just don't know enough about it. I think his story probably includes her being "distraught" or upset or something like that...and disappearing. Not sure he's going to deny ever seeing her, since he probably knows that won't pass muster given forensic evidence, and so I suspect his story will likely suggest self-harm or being upset at his response. He will flip the cards away from focusing on his anger and resentment towards something that blames her. Wait--did anyone see Barry Morphew in here? ;) MOO and speculating.
