Forgive me if this has been posted already. I’m not all caught up.

Volunteers look for clues in case of missing pregnant Tacoma woman

The search party, compiled of family and volunteers focused on an area of Tacoma today, not far from where Kassanndra’s white Mazda was found last Friday, with the keys inside. And the same neighborhood where earlier this week a search warrant was served. Kassanndra’s family says it’s the home of a man she dated when she was a teenager, and was more recently just a friend

Investigators and volunteers have yet to find Kassanndra’s cell phone, which has been off since she disappeared last week. But there’s something else her mother believes she may have left the house with last Tuesday. “The very first test that she took when she went to the clinic, its missing…I can't think of why she needed it unless somebody asked her for it,” says Marie Smith.

Sorry to even have to post this but looks like we're in for a very long haul with this. Highly doubtful she's alive. Hopefully something will lead to finding her and bringing her home to her family. Sad. JMO

I’m hoping something or someone breaks soon. Her poor family.
Let’s hope LE is just having to take some time to scour over CCTV footage, and they will find pay dirt.

This missing woman case seems similar to Kelsie Schilling? She was taking sonogram photo to show her boyfriend...she has never been found and the boyfriend is awaiting trial, which keeps being postponed due to Covid...

Oh wow, no kidding. I just looked her up Kelsie Schelling Murder Case: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

I looked for a WS thread for Kelsie but couldn't find one?

I really wish MSM would publish the names in this case so they could be openly discussed here!

Maybe she took it with her, just in case he questioned if it was true. Or maybe he already said to her previously, that he didn't believe it?

What if he said let's meet in the morning and you can show me the pregnancy test?

Imagining that in today’s time, one could simply take a photo and send an image via the phone. If he, indeed, offered to meet to look at the piece of paper, I surmise he is a long planner.

I have seen clinics use a stick test. They put the stick in the cup of urine. When I got pregnant with my child a few years ago, the OB Office asked ifi took a test, asked what brand and said “ok we’ll schedule you for 11 weeks for an appointment.” I asked if I needed to come in to confirm and they said “no, the tests are accurate “. In my case because I had several miscarriages and was older, I called my fertility doctor that I hadn’t seen for several years, explained that surprise I was pregnant and asked if he could get me a referral earlier than 11 weeks, even at a different OB. He had me come in and did an ultrasound at 6 weeks. He was shocked I got pregnant. I asked him about the test and he said usually it’s a waste to take it again. They will confirm at 11 week appointment with blood tests. He also called the OB and got me in right away for some of the blood tests.

Yes. With my second pregnancy, it was so unplanned and unexpected, that the test I used (“positive”), was from old times. I bought a new test to “confirm” it, at the same time, understanding that I’d better spend the money on diapers instead.

Pregnancy test is of an “antibody-antigen” type, so there has to be ChG in urine to create the “positive” line. False positive is very unlikely (chorionepithelioma or hydatid mole can produce positive pregnancy tests, but they are very rare conditions, and technically, are not false-positive, as they “confirm” HcG in one’s body as well).

False-negatives can potentially happen with “very bad test kits”, but are uncommon. But if one wishes to retest the pregnancy results, it makes sense specifically in the case of the negative ones.

Speculating now. This makes me wonder why he needed evidence--or what was involved in their meeting, what was the goal?

  • Who was there? Was it a meeting that included the gf, presumably to discuss what role (if any) she and ex-boyfriend wanted to play in a baby's life?
  • Was it a meeting to inform ex of pregnancy and potential paternity?

Does anyone have a link to media that suggests ex knew about paternity prior?

MOO. Also brainstorming scenarios under which KC got pregnant with ex and his gf decided to stay with him... a few alternatives:
  • KC's ex and current girlfriend are in an open relationship that is non-monogamous.
  • Girlfriend doesn't believe he fathered KC's baby (possibly ex has told her has medical reason for not being able to father kids i.e low sperm count or t-count, preexisting condition)
  • Girlfriend wants to adopt KC's kid and raise with bf (which is clearly not what KC wants, given media reports)

Possibly this sort of triangle relationship has been going on for years. But the pregnancy created too much resentment and jealousy. If BD has been with current gf for a long time and both have had arguments over his relationship with KC, maybe the pregnancy was just the breaking point for current gf and BD had to make a choice. All MOO.

Not 100% sure, but this is one msm interview that seems to indicate he already knew. (Which to me seems odd. JMO but it is easier for me to imagine him freaking out when she told him rather than him doing something to her during a 2nd meeting or discussion. That could indicate planning, premeditation. Sickening. JMO)

"She also said police told friends and family not to share their opinions about the ex-boyfriend or how he is feeling about this pregnancy with the media." (Direct transcription of wording)"

This tells me that BD knew about this pregnancy before she went missing, which is a question I have had. Which leads me to premeditation in her disappearance and probably murder. I was thinking there may have been a possibility of her surprising him with the news that Tuesday and he freaked out. If there is premeditation involved then there's a good chance that maybe a jealous live in is involved. This is JMO.

Thanks to her friend for clearing this question up about him knowing or not knowing, clearly he's been upset about it and KC knew that. I wonder if she was scared to meet with him that day...

I sure hope this case is resolved more quickly! (And with a better outcome of course)

I didn’t follow it at the time but it seems that case took nearly 4 years before the boyfriend was even arrested despite him being the obvious Suspect. And still no trial date! Her poor family.
BBM - Truth! I need to read that thread. Worried that KC's is going in this direction. now.

Wouldn’t an early paternity test require a cheek swab (at least)? A regular pregnancy test isn’t going to reveal anything about paternity. Showing someone a positive for pregnancy would not be proof that the person is the father. Unless I have early paternity testing totally wrong.

Just my opinion but I think this is one of those cases where there’s really no evidence to support many of the theories being bounced around. We don’t know for certainty that she went to meet the ex or the current GF, or both, or if she did where that occurred.

They must have had some sort of compelling evidence to get the house search warrant but of course are not talking about that. I would hope they could not obtain a warrant for a person’s residence without more than a group of suspicions.

It will be interesting to see if they do have any type of video surveillance that simply is not being revealed. With cameras everywhere right now, both public and private, it would be surprising not to find anything.

I know it’s most common for someone in the relationship to be at fault but have reserved my own opinions for now.

MOO

Then there's that funny statistic about pregnant women likely to be the target of violence or murder by that of their would-be fathers. IMO, KC was playing with fire, whether knowingly or not, as allegedly, the POI did not want children.

Yes, if the girlfriend found out that KC was pregnant it would mean that the boyfriend would always be connected to the mother of his child or have some kind of relationship with her. Even the most understanding woman would have a hard time living with that. She may have threatened to leave him if he had a child with her.

This would have put an enormous amount of pressure on the boyfriend, especially if he planned on staying with his current girlfriend.

IMO

That thought worries me for KC's Mom, she seems so emotionally fragile.
