[...]

Before Seattle police confirmed the missing woman’s name, her loved ones were not talking, saying they didn’t want to jeopardize the case. But they have posted on social media, asking for help locating the missing woman.

Martinez-Cosman was last seen at the Mariners game on Friday while on a date. In a blotter post late Wednesday, Seattle police said detectives had identified and interviewed the man from Martinez-Cosman’s date, who was seen in a photo taken with the woman at a game.

Multiple readers have mentioned social-media posts about this missing local woman, and we heard tonight directly from a family member who confirmed she was still being sought. But the family member told us earlier this evening that they were waiting for police clearance to say more. Now, that’s just happened:

The Mariners provided KIRO 7 with a statement following Martinez-Cosman’s disappearance.

“We are aware of the situation and take it very seriously. We have been in contact with law enforcement and have offered any assistance we can provide.”

Martinez-Cosman has not been in contact with her family since the game, leading the police to declare this a missing persons case.

Her brother, Ricardo, tells KIRO Newsradio she met the man just a couple of weeks ago and sent the photo as a selfie to friends and family. It was the last anyone heard from her.

Liz Latham, a friend who met Martinez-Cosman through their Buddhist group, says that this disappearance is out of the ordinary for her. Martinez also lives and cares for her adult son with special needs, who she checks up with regularly.

“It’s way out of the ordinary. It’s, she’s so in touch with her family, families, really everything and important to her,” Latham said. “Leticia has a son, Patrick, who requires special attention. He’s neurodivergent, and he has special needs. So she is in touch with her son 24/7, always checking on him, and he lives with her, and she had been saving to she’s been saving for years to try to get a bigger house for the two of them.”

BREAKING:
@SeattlePD says a man has been arrested for murder and kidnapping. They are not confirming if it is the man who Leticia went with to the baseball game. Police say they do NOT know where her body is.

The 46-year-old man has been booked into the King County jail and for investigation of homicide, kidnapping, and assault, according to the SPD.

Around 2 a.m. Friday, her adult son Patrick, who is in his late-20s and has Asperger's syndrome, told family members that a man woke him up in the middle of the night and told him that his mother had been hurt in a fall and that he would take him to see her in the hospital.

"They drove around, made a couple stops," a source close to the family told Fox News Digital Thursday. "Finally he made this excuse to go to the backseat -- and that’s when he put a bag over his head and tried to choke him."

Leticia Martinez-Cosman in an undated photo provided by Seattle police. The 58-year-old Mariners fan was last seen at a home game Friday, March 31.

Patrick's father is Martinez-Cosman's ex-husband and lives out of state. She had been dating and may have recently met the man in the Seattle police photo, showing off a new baseball-themed manicure to relatives before the game.

"[Patrick] fought him off, he bit his thumb, honked the horn to wake up the neighbors, had his phone and was calling 911," the source said.

This is awful, and JMO but there could be a lot more to this story. I guess what strikes me as odd is the fact that Patrick's very detailed story is being reported by his family, and not the police. But it may be that the police just haven't released the details yet.
RIP Leticia:( so sad for her and her family, she was loved:(

Editing to add that if the person arrested is the same man who went to the game with her, then oh my gosh, how absolutely evil that he then went back to her house to kidnap her son!! Honestly, this is crazy.

Hi Everyone,
(PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS DONATIONS ON THIS THREAD. CLICK HERE FOR DISCUSSION)
Websleuths is very expensive to run. Most months we make enough to pay for the server, pay the IT guy, and a bit of money left over for me for some bills or food. This way I can keep Websleuths free for everyone.
There are months when this is not the case.
I recently pre-paid the server fee and almost all I owed our IT guy. I knew the money coming in for the month from advertising would not cover the bills but I thought I had another revenue stream coming in so I wasn't worried. That revenue stream didn't happen.

Basically, I need donations to cover the server and what I owe the IT and a bit extra for my groceries.

I have provided Websleuths free for almost 20 years (since 2004) and will do my best to keep Websleuths free for members and visitors.

This month we need 2700 dollars to keep Websleuths running. I don't know what next month's ad dollars will be. Hopefully, you won't be hearing from me.

Let me stress if you cannot afford a donation please do not send anything. I understand times are hard.

When we reach our goal I will announce it and stop accepting donations. It is urgent however that we raise the money as fast as possible.

Please use PayPal Pay Websleuths.com, LLC using PayPal.Me

KOMO NEWS HAS THE BOOKING PHOTO OF THE MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER IN CONNECTION WITH THE CASE. THERE'S A SIDE BY SIDE PHOTO OF IT AND THE MAN SHE WAS AT THE GAME WITH. Man arrested in connection to woman's disappearance after Seattle Mariners game
From the article:
  • Gitchel has an extensive criminal history, including seven felonies and nine gross misdemeanors, according to criminal records from the Washington State Patrol. His previous convictions include taking vehicles without permission, eluding police, theft, and assault.
  • The SPD said detectives have recovered a vehicle in connection to the case and are continuing to follow whatever leads come from evidence found in that vehicle.

Extremely crazy and odd that he would wear distinct glasses and a sweatshirt that ties/relates him to the game he was allegedly at to commit another crime, but thank god criminals are not too smart.....

Also, why Leticia? From her colleagues' interviews it does not seem like she would know someone like this guy at all, why did he target her? ):
