Snohomish County is several counties east and north of Grays Harbor County (where McCleary is) but it is still in western Washington, meaning west of the mountain range that divides the state.

Hey all. I'm so glad WS is here. After reading some other forums, it's refreshing to read and be here! Because reading all that stuff was making me  and I just wanted to :banghead:

Anyway....I know I was reading some were wondering about MB and her asking for TES services. I had asked her those questions myself and she replied via email. She gave me permission to copy and paste her answers here. I've bolded it below.

If we don't have a better turn out this next search; I think I am going to call Texas Equa Search and see if they will come out and help.

I had contacted them before LRC but Tim was on vacation. Then when he got back LRC already agreed to come out so TES wouldn't they said it was duplicating services.

Oh, and jvk....I saw your fruit pics many pages back. So that's what you were doing! I wondered where you were off to. Our jvk is always snapping the coolest pics :woohoo:
No offense to any of the rooky searchers as they have walked miles in looking for Lindsey, but I'm weighing some of Mom B's comments. "If there isn't more of a turn out your THINKING about calling TESS ! Mom, your daughter's gone please call Tim now. Why the wait? Time to make powerful decisions! No need for explainations of what you didn't do in the beginning of the case, as that was many moons ago. Weigh your choices Ms. Baum as Tim Miller and his entire organization are people of integrity and follow through with what they set out to do. They are there for child in jepardy and ignore all the small time chatter to stay focused on the child. He would show up if there was no money if he heard authenticity in a parents voice. Tim is aware of this case. :banghead:

Yes and the community of Startup in 2000 had 817 people, I think the news describes the location as the "area" of Startup, but no matter what, this looks to also be a lightly populated place. With access to a highway.

I couldn't agree more Kagey. That's what I was telling her, call them NOW. I'll work on her some more this coming weekend, count on it :) This rookie would like nothing more than to see Tim and the calvary come charging in.

McCleary man receiving death threats in Baum case

Investigators comb a site near McCleary on Friday after search warrants were issued in connection with the disappearance of Lindsey Baum, 11.

MCCLEARY, Wash. -- Frustration is boiling over in this small Western Washington town where a weekend search for Lindsay Baum failed to turn up a break in the case. And a local family says their son, who has received death threats, has unfairly become the town's scapegoat.

Three months have passed since Lindsay Baum disappeared. The search conducted last weekend kindled new hope, but also sparked a sense of vigilante justice.

For two days, sheriff's detectives and FBI agents swarmed over the 11-acre property of an extended local family just south of town. Deputies said the search did not turn up any key evidence linking the place with the girl's disappearance.

"They didn't find a smoking gun. There's nothing to say they didn't find clues," said Melissa Baum, the missing girl's mother. "I'm hoping they did find or at least gather some information that may help us find her."

The search may not have turned up any key evidence, but the owners of the searched property say they're still paying the price. They say the search left a cloud over their reputation, and has even prompted death threats against the family's 23-year-old son.

"I didn't even know who they were until Saturday," Melissa Baum said.

KOMO News has learned the young man was working at the Bee Hive Retirement Center at the time of the 11-year-old girl's disappearance. The girl was last seen in front of the center.

The man's family members and his next-door neighbor say he was at home when the girl vanished.

"That's terrible. That's how rumors start. That's how small towns are, though," said McCleary resident Mike Stoney. "You can get into a big area and you probably wouldn't hear anything like you're hearing now. Small towns are terrible for rumors."

Feeding the rumor mill are blog sites where local residents have engaged in non-stop chatter and speculations about Lindsay Baum's disappearance.

"I'm sure there's a small percentage in this community that are frustrated, that want this thing taken care of now and stop all of the melee, so to speak. But I think for a lot of us in the area here, too, we're just holding steadfast and hoping for the best," said Steve Saylor, another McCleary resident.

The sheriff's office will unseal the search warrants later this week, at which time the contents found during last week's search will be made public.

This "second life" of this continued thread is amazing, and the chat is what is necessary, IMO, because it keeps the "thinking" and "sleuthing" alove and alive. I'm completely amazed at the rebirth of ideas, discussion, and excellent questions that are here and about. Wow!!! I am way behind in the discussion, that is SERIOUSLY fantastic.

Do locals recall, or was it ever said if Sand Creek Pond was ever searched? I think someone mentioned this place awhile ago:

here it is on a map:

And a local family says their son, who has received death threats, has unfairly become the town's scapegoat. Okay, let's discuss this matter. If he is innocent, then he needs to speak up and tell his story. He was on the sex offender list, and perhaps he should share some information relative to that as well as where he was at the time Lindsey disappeared. He received death threats because he decided to break the law, and "unfairly" is a subjective thing. Let's hear more about his innocence and especially details about where he was on the evening that Lindsey disappeared. I'd like to know where he is now, where he has been in the past 2 months, and I'd love to hear something from his friends, if they are willing to share. I'd like to hear something from his pastor, if he is religious, and his employer, if he is employed, etc etc.

I see this guy's face, this young kid, all over the internet, a kid who would perhaps be attractive to a young girl like Lindsey, someone who wasn't a seeming threat, someone who comes to town on a daily basis, someone who Lindsey knew at least on a visual basis, someone who apparently belonged to the town because he came into town for groceries and such many many times, someone who didn't threaten her, and, hell, the last names, very cool that they are similar, "baum" and "braun" and he wasn't a nasty looking fella, either, someone who Lindsey may have been attracted to.

Are you sure this is the same guy on the SO list - the one who took 'indecent liberties'? Someone else told me he lived close, but not on that property. Now I'm confused? The indecent liberties kid is a minor - -

Did I miss something? I never saw him on an SO list. Link please. And what law did he break?

So this is his alibi. At least we now know where he claims to have been on a Friday night between 9:15pm and 10:00pm. Home with mom. I wonder how the neighbor knows he was home during that time?

I guess the Beehive can provide his work schedule to find out what shift he was on and when he left.

Since he worked so close, I would think he would use the Shell station to gas his car, buy beer, etc. Could the cameras focused on the gas pumps have placed his car there near the time she went missing? Is this one of the reasons they took his vehicle in for further testing?

JVK, where are the photos you took of the Beehive?

Took this from the article JVK posted - lots of conflict regarding who was home and when. Death threats??? This is McCleary not Chicago - right? there should be sign-in and sign-out sheets at a retirement center right?

WooHoo - we have a POI - that's something. Now for the forensic testing!

Way to go LE!

That is one pissed off kid, IMO

Just one question. If a person is a POI, at what point can we name him? I'd like to see the Astro's do a chart for this person.

One article posted by our Angel states he is a POI.

Why can't we mention his name? On other cases the name would have been out there a while ago. What am I missing? We can only mention him if he is a suspect? To me, a search warrant and a massive search of his property makes him suspect. There is a reason they went there, and it's not just because he gave a wrong answer to a question over the phone. There is more to this.

Anyone?

Normcar21---the person in question is 23 yo - you put up the picture of a minor - what the hell???

has even prompted death threats against the family's 23-year-old son.

IMO the "was working at the Bee Hive at the time of the 11-year-old girl's disappearance" meant he was employed there, not that he was there at the time.

I agree, a few days ago we were discussing Forman and I got mixed up. This dude I'm referring to is "south" of McCleary, south of the major highway, on Heslop, in the 100 block. I posted maps to this kid a month ago, on Heslop.

My apologies for making that mistake, the dude on Forman is much older.
