No I wasn't Kimster. I just had on blue jeans and a dress shirt, but I think it was the camera that gave it away. I bought myself a nice little Kodak camera for my job last year. Also, I look like your typical  geek. lol

She knows WS has a bent for proactive photographers. LOL I luv it.

Isn't it fascinating she pegged you as a blogger? You could have been a reporter, a photographer, or a number of other things. I guess it must be well known now that WSers are doing a great job in McCleary!! :)

I am glad she seemed receptive to answering your questions and the impromptu interview. Was her daughter just standing there listening or did she add anything? (Speaking of her DD, did she look better rested than she did in JVK's photo? She looked exhausted then.)

Her daughter was very pleasant. She introduced herself and said she was Lindsey's best friend. When I asked about the pool, she pointed to the house where it was and KK told her not to point to it. I don't know if that was because she felt it was rude to point or if she thought they might actually see her. Then KK indicated that it was a light green house which sets back from 3rd and Maple. I then glanced back to locate it. When I drove home, I could see the pool then.

I didn't see Jvk's photo, but neither one of them looked tired. KK had a very pleasant demeanor.

Why are helicopters searching at night (if that is what they are doing). Can something be seen at night that can't be seen during the day? Do they use night vision googles or something?
Yes. They use infrared to detect changes in the soil, plant life, and other things. Notmykids posted specifics awhile back about why they would search at night.

Was he in a black suit and giving you the dead-eye look? :innocent: WOW, that really brings the case down home and I am also thankful if the FBI are still there nosing around. Keeping an eagle eye on everything. They might be following her too. xox

I don't know, I merely glanced at him. I only remember he was wearing something dark. I stood right out in the open talking to KK so he could have come talked to me at anytime. It would have been ok with me, I would have asked him questions back. I am the kind of person that can walk into a room full of people I don't know and find someone to talk to within a few minutes.

I forgot my main point as I am almost prostrate from heat exhaustion at this moment.

Anyway, the office seems like such a permanent thing. I don't want her to be missing like Haleigh has been for like 5 months now.

poor lil haleigh :( breaks my heart the more i think bout her

I need to make some of these for Lindsey now... that will give me something to do rather than eat, eat, eat and did i mention....eat?

I hope the command center means they are going to do more individual searching. We haven't heard a lot about that going on...or else it is happening and you guys are talking about it when I'm out and about.

  • #708
They may not be searching...they could be military copters doing training or transport between guard units, or they could be out doing fire patrols...it's just been more than I usually hear...but I could just be more sensative to stuff like that with everything that's going on around here.

We did see a ton of DNR trucks out today.. parked along the highway up by the Rock Candy Mountain exit. I had wondered if there was something going on out there. I'm sure the fire risk is high right now..

Who needs heat in Washington State? It's not like we get snow or anything. ;)

O/T I bet you got some there today! It hit 95 degrees here today. Simply ungodly!

I just noticed your son is soon on his way back home Jennifer and that is just the best. What a day of celebration that will be to have him safe and sound again. My nephew is waiting for orders at Ft Campbell. It may be he'll go to Afganistan. We're waiting to see. xox

Just heard a copter go over. It was heading north, just east of town. Seemed pretty high to be doing a ground search though.

He couldn't tell if they were giving him the dead-eye due to those cool FBI sunglasses. hehehe I do have to get me a pair of those someday. (I can wear them with my FBI training academy t-shirt!)

I noticed what looked like a bunch of state trucks at the Summit Lake gas station...I just figured they were doing something on the highway because there were construction-type signs in the area...I think they might be doing something with the high voltage power lines through there because they just finished building some new supports.

That's how I am also. Have you thought of getting into politics?

Didn't sound very high from here :) went over the woods nearby.

I saw that too. They had a lighted sign up that said "Rolling Slow Downs Ahead". Then I noticed it looked like they were putting up some temporary poles. Looked like for the powerlines that cross the road right there. Maybe they are preparing to do some work there.

It's funny, but now when I see anything like that, my mind goes into overdrive.

kseal07--Department of Natural Resources.

Scandi--Yes, my son has been gone a year and I am so ready for the stress to be over. My oldest step son is at Ft Benning at basic training.. I think he will probably go to Afganistan within the next year. I fear that more than I feared my son going to Iraq.. we just lost a local boy (he actually attended school with my son) in Afgan. Last Saturday was his funeral.. I still tear up when I think about his family. I hope I never feel that pain.

did any more info come of the searches yesterday of the ORV park or the street that I can't remember the name of? Or any more clues on the Allen guy? I'm not sure if I missed reading a post or two.

I could see the red flashing light on the tail. It was higher then the ones last week anyway. It seems to me if they were really searching, they would be going slower and flying some type of pattern. Although I have the window open, so I am getting highway noise, the fan is running and my daughter is watching Scooby-Doo. So I do have a lot of noise and may have missed some of their fly-bys. Those mettling kids! Argh!
