I wonder how they determined April 16 to be death date.

Since this is an obituary, it may/may not be the official date of death. I've seen some families use the date the person went missing, or they use the date that the person has been found. In the absence of a coronor's report on an estimated date of death, it would be hard to know. IMO, the April 16th date was probably the day Mandrea was found.

I don't know 100% for sure but I know on April 16 the day listed that she died, that there was a woman's body found in the river not to far from the area that her car was found. So I do not want to assume that is her, but I believe so from the info that is available and the locations of everything. :'(
