Mr. [deleted],
Thank you for your tip and support of NamUs. I will make sure that if this comparison has not already been addressed, it will be sent to the appropriate agencies for further investigation.
Support from the public is a powerful part of NamUs; thank you for taking the time to help us in our attempt to resolve these important cases.

Any word back yet?
It looks like the profile was updated 3/6/12. It says mtDNA and nucDNA are available so that would rule out anyone that has dna listed in their profile right? It still does not list any rule-outs though.
It would only if the nucDNA and mtDNA profiles are in CODIS. Sometimes, that is not the case. However, in this instance, it does indicate that the profiles are at UNTCHI and the "full STR and mtDNA profiles at national CODIS".
You can tell alot about ethnicity from the shape of a skull, and even the shapes of the teeth. Asians and Native Americans tend to have a scooped out surface at the posterior side of their upper front incisors.

So I am guessing that the girl had a caucasian type skull shape, and shovel-shaped incisors.
This is somewhat off-topic, but related to pg. 1 of this thread... so is it true that shovel-shaped incisors aren't the norm for everybody?? None of you have teeth like that?
I ask because I'm caucasian and I have shovel-shaped incisors. And there is NO native/asian blood in my family---they are all European-descended.
I'm just questioning the validity of using that specific tooth description to classify asian/native lineage...
No single characteristic by itself determines ethnicity. The various characteristics are considered collectively to determine a likely ancestry.
If someone was to look at your skull, you might have shovel-shaped incisors, but you probably have a preponderance of other characteristics that would indicate your Caucasian lineage. Your maxilla probably doesn't project forward, as do those of most blacks, and your nasal bone probably projects more forwardly than your cheekbones (unlike most Asians and Native Americans).
The orbits (i.e., eye sockets) of Caucasians have a different shape than those of Asians or Blacks (which have a more circular and rectangular shape, respectively). Also, the nasal aperture (i.e., the hole in the skull behind the nose) is typically narrower and more pointy at the top than those of Blacks and Asians.
Her teeth look pretty straight compared to the Jane Doe's teeth in the photo I posted above.
Quinton, 14, ran away from her Everett, Washington home on February 19, 2011. She was found safe in June 2012.

The sketch was released in October of 2011, but by releasing it again, deputies hope to generate a new lead.
Almost two years after a motorist discovered the skeletal remains of a young woman on a logging road near Morton, authorities still are trying to identify her and determine who killed her.
