Thurston County officials say body on Fox Island could be of missing 8-year-old boy.

Oh my gosh...for a 'relapse' they look like they are having a pretty good time! Interesting side note: he just made this photos viewable to non-friends. Yesterday/day before (can't remember) it said the photos were private. Why would he do that and leave that photo?? I try to click on that photo and can't view it though. But I do see the beer from the thumbnail.

Why leave any photos private? I thought he was putting them up to help in finding her.

Does it really matter?? At this point, does it matter at all?

Are any stations covering this live? If so, link please. TIA

Not as yet, but I'm sure every station in the are is headed out there and there will be something soon.

these guys probably closest if taking a truck out, but I imagine a chopper from Seattle will be in the air very soon, if not already.

A local please correct me if I'm wrong, but clear and sunny over south sound?

Positive ID expected in approx. 1 hour according to sheriff's officer Mealey. That would be about 4:10 PDT

Yes, clear and sunny, slight wind

What does that mean? lol is that a yes or a maybe or a no? TIA

I think it is very likely that the same water that was near the van moved past fox island as the tide pulled it in and out of that area. The current near Tacoma is strong because so much water (from the southern part of the sound) is going through a narrow area. I don't know for sure why a body would end up on that island though. I suppose the back and forth of the tides could have done it... :(

Lt. Chris Mealy of the Thurston County sheriff's office said water currents could have carried a body from Budd Inlet, where the 8-year-old boy went missing late Saturday, to Fox Island over a period of days.

"Yes, absolutely," he said, when asked about the possibility.

my heart is breaking.

They would know immediately if it was him due to his mohawk haircut. I would imagine at least.

This is so sad. I'm watching the Northwest news and they are still talking about the family who heard the knocking on the garage. LE was saying that they wouldn't have gone into the water if that happened. I guess that didn't happen - or maybe it did. I guess we don't know where SS.

Devastating.

I remember reading that the houses along Island View and Zangle were a bit high up from the shore...with long steep staircases leading down. One homeowner stated that if you fell off of one, you'd die. Now if they were both up there banging on houses (and I dont understand why she was banging on a garage, and not a front door in the first place) and they decided to head back down to the car, she could have slipped and grabbed onto Az. I hope they're really checking the houses along that shoreline...in some thick bushes. Just a concept.....wish I was there.

If there is a fall, would they have fallen into the water? Or would the water have come up to that point at high tide ?

I have a feeling she was insistent upon driving to her SF without another adult so she could drink. I bet that huge jug of wine was not the first alcohol she had had on that trip. I think the boyfriend cut his meeting short and tried to catch up with her because she was being unreasonable. That unreasonableness that alcoholics and drug addicts have. My late husband was both. I think the bf was figuring out she was becoming a handful and was trying to stop her. Of course, when she disappeared, he downplayed it because denial sets in when you realize something horrible may have happened. JMO

I know the officer said "absolutely" a body could end up there, but would it be carried around so many obstacles? Looking at the map, it seems as though it should have washed up on one of the other islands closer to where the van was found. Or is it more likely dumped closer to where it washed up? Is there any source that would show the current flow in that area? (I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for that)
