I am about to take a trip to the store to measure it! :waitasec:

LOL

I have to run out to the store tonight, I'll take a tape measure in case they sell that brand. (and pray no one sees me measuring the height of a wine bottle LOL)

I don't understand the question about the shoe. Kid's shoe has a size 13. Ladies shoes do not and rarely exceed size 10. The difference in a men's 13 and a kid's 13 is huge. So why is there any room for speculation. Either there is a man's size 13 or there is not. Either there is a ladies size 9 and that also should be VERY easy to determine.

There's been some back and forth about whether the smaller shoe is a child's size 13. It's clear compared to the other items it isn't.

Well, believe it or don't. I have a feeling sometimes people just want to make the pieces fit into the spot they need to fit the theory.
Me included, but this is important enough to clarify. The larger shoe is a womans. The smaller shoe is a boys.

Not a rumor.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. Compared to the known sizes of the other items, and given LE's statement, I'll stand by what I posted.

Thanks!

The larger size shoe must be hers. The smaller shoe is about the same size.

A boy's size 13 is 7.5 inches (for the foot, not the whole shoe.)

And the spacer is 6 inches. Compare the smaller shoe to that. I don't believe there'd be THAT much toe room.

Hooboy. I can just see me trying to talk my way out of that.

*Note to self. Do NOT take my big tote.*

And apparently the length of the 16.9 ounce Dasani bottle (which I think is what is in the photo) is 8 inches long. So that explains why it looks to be the same length as the smaller shoe.

I believe the smaller water bottle with no label is a 16 ounce and the Dasani is a 1 liter.

Yes. So I have read. But, what I could not figure out is who put out the misinformation, LE or the media. I am guessing the media. They probably just LOOKED at the style of shoe and "thought" -man's shoe-. Saw size 13 and assumed, again, -man's shoe-. The reporter may not even have been aware that kid's sizes run 6-13 then start over 1-6. I happen to work in a store that sells boots and I have avoided this up until now because I could not imagine how someone could mistake a kid's shoe for a man's size 13 or not know the difference. But, the media make me very annoyed with being so irresponsible in their reporting of facts.

The dasani bottle is more than a couple of inches longer than the spacer.

Or maybe a 20 or 24 ounce.

Tell ya what. I have a spacer here *somewhere* (if I didn't toss it out). I'll put it side-by-side with my grandson's size 13 shoe and post a pic. It may take a while, I'll have to search for the darn thing.

The info came from a video interview with Detective Mealy. It's possible he made a mistake but it's not irresponsible reporting. I'll post the link when I find it again.

Cool site.

Disclaimer: All values are estimates and should not be considered scientifically accurate by any measure of the imagination.

I just added "a box" and "my ex's big fat head" to the database, with my own made-up measurements (well not so much for his head. it is huge).

This is purely speculation on my part. What if this area was visited on the other recent Castle Rock visit. What if the purpose in that trip was to work out the plan. Where to leave the van, where to leave evidence in the direction of the current. But the problem is it didn't fool anybody that the items just washed there. What does she want found? The half empty wine bottle for sure, one of her shoes ( which she had already removed in anticipation when visiting the Williams), a man's shoe, items belonging to her son like his inhaler and the balls. But, she overdid it. She lumped the items too close together too far above the highwater mark that tipped investigators that they did not simply wash out of the van to the spot. This may have been to buy insurance just in case investigators did not believe they simply washed away and drowned when the van got stuck. The man's shoe, if it doesn't belong to RS, then it could have been bought at a thrift store to throw in a possibility that they had been abducted. But, that doesn't work for real. I don't think there were ANY strangers involved unknown to Shantina. I think she knew whoever met her that night.

I am not sure if the meth/crack pipe(s) found in the glovebox are real evidence that she was into those drugs or purchased as a prop, like the wine, to further sway any investigators that she was under the influence at the time. But, I would speculate that she was stone cold sober throughout. I think she planned to get rid of Az because of the influence of someone, not something. I think she planned her disappearance. If this sounds elaborate, then think of the consequences to getting caught. Every time I read something more about this case, it is the only conclusion I can draw from the facts.

I think the reason she was barefoot and crying somewhat is because she had already been to the spot before meeting with whoever. I think she wanted one last call to her grandparents and was upset about what she was about to do. She should have changed her mind and kept on going. But she didn't. I hope the investigators watched the whole tape to see if she had been down that road earlier than her first visit and her second bypass at around 10:10.

I believe this is a reasonable theory and it too has danced across my mind, and even though none of her family or friends believe she would ever hurt Azriel, I did notice on her myspace or fb, not long after she first met RS that when saying who was most important in her life, RS got first place, Azriel was second, with the comment that of course he was a most important person. So I was concerned that like many women, she might have placed her lover above her son. But again, not one family member or friend would even consider it, and her grandmother from Brinnon would not consider for a second that SS would ever harm Aziel and from the impression I got she thinks SS is in the sound.

If this post is not appropiate, please delete. tia

If that is how they found out, I have a BIG problem with that. I'd like to have a definitive answer as to how the police found out she was at the Williams' house.

My thinking would be either the grandparents informed them or RS, but Idk, I don't remember reading how they discovered she had been there. It does seem to me that the Williams' offered that info themselves to LE, but I don't remember why I think that...

Way to go!!!:woohoo:

Ok guys and gals... I left my house, forgot my tape measure... didn't want to go back in the house to get it because my kids would bug me and want to go with me - once I got there I realized I had a paper tape measure thingy they give you at the pediatricians office to measure your baby's head. Whooo hooo! :woohoo:

I don't think I have ever spent so much time in the dang store. And I felt REALLY weird measuring things - the store was packed! I think there were people following me... :waitasec:

1 liter dasani water (33.8 oz) = 10.5"
16.9 generic water bottle = 8"
Carlo Rossi 1.5 liter = 9.75"

I could not find a regular size dasani water, so I measured a 20 oz bottle of coke = 8.75"

Like I said before, my woman's 9W shoe is 11" long. It is kind of a clunky shoe tho.

I thought the same thing - but not sure why. I was under the impression the William's saw the story on the news the next day and contacted LE.

Speaking of the size 13 shoe. I still am not clear on which shoe is the womans size 9 shoe and which is the size 13 shoe(mens or boys?) But what I do know for sure is #1 neither shoe is Azriels, so if it is a boys 13, it is NOT AZ's.(Im including a link to the video where you can CLEARLY see his shoes. #2 RS would have stated that it was AZ shoe and to my knowledge that was not the case, only that SS's shoe was the womens size 9 shoe. It is not clear as to which shoe is which, so if SS shoe is the smaller of the two, thens its entirely possible the larger shoe is a mens 13. If SS shoe is the larger of the two, then the smaller shoes is obviously a childs size 13(But even so it is NOT AZ shoe) .. Look at the linked video you can clearly see.

It could be an extra pair of Az's shoes - not the ones he was wearing that night.
