So, I am new to the boards, but have been following the case and this thread since the beginning. My mom has extreme OCD, and so much of what has been said about Julia in relation to her disorder is familiar to me. Although, my mother was very loving and nurturing, in spite of her illness, I cannot help but hear the truth in everything SM has said. One line from his statement (sorry I do not have the link handy, but it is within previous posts), was that Julia just wanted a pill and did not want to undergo any other treatment. This was true of my mom too. Treatment for OCD typically entails behavior therapy, which can mean confronting your obsessions/compulsions directly, until the patient is, in essence, desensitized to the fear. Because of the anticipation of the anxiety this would create, my mother is still exhibiting the same rituals and behaviors she has been battling for 35 years. She too underwent EST, with minimal effect so it was not surprising to hear the info about Julia's (alleged) experience in Russia.
Also, I personally think the the whole sugar daddy deal was an attempt for Julia to be able to continue to engage in her rituals, without having to work. My mom was on disability for years bc it would have been virtually impossible for her to work outside of the home. I believe Julia couldn't take that route bc doing so would have made it necessary to admit she was ill, something that may have impacted the custody case.
I do believe that Julia has other issues besides OCD, but I just wanted to point out that IMO, and my experience growing up with a obsessive compulsive parent gives credence to everything SM has said. The "rules" by which a person with this disorder live do not make sense at all and can even change from day to day. It does not seem odd to me at all that SM would allow his life to be dictated by Julia's disorder, either. When the person you love will experience true pain and suffering if you do not follow what seem to be simple rules, you are willing to do it, at first. But, then, little by little, the cumulative effect of OCD on your life begins to come into focus, and only then do you say, "holy cr**! What kind of life am I living?"
I personally believe Julia did something to Sky. I hope I am wrong. I believe SM. She was sick and was not dealing with it. She, IMO, never bonded with her youngest, perhaps bc she was too far gone inside her various mental illnesses...
