WA WA - Sky Metalwala, 2, Bellevue, 6 Nov 2011 - #14

BBM: these days there are about 10 days of not posting. All other days are like 1-5 days apart. Most are 2-5 days apart.
When did her father visit her? I remember there was a pic (in hotel room) on FB and someone asking when this visit took place...

We never did figure out where the "gas station" photo was taken, did we? I'll post it here again -- maybe this is something we could sleuth further. Maybe it could lead us to Sky. I recall posting something in an earlier thread about what I believed to be in the photo:

* I think those are sliding glass doors behind JB that haven't fully met back together (the darker strips are the rubber lining that keep the cold/hot air out and prevents the glass from slamming).

* I think the white horizontal line across the bottom left might be the edge and top of a curb -- a white line of paint indicating to be careful as you step up.

* The dark rectangular shape in the upper right I believe to be a gas pump or some other kind of fixture.

* Not sure what the round circular object below that is -- maybe a headlight or a shoe or a concrete island?

* JB appears to be in motion and handing something to someone behind a counter or filling out paperwork.

* Few places have sliding glass doors with a counter that close them (stores may have sliding glass doors but the counter is not usually that close). For this reason, I believe her to be at a gas station (not the Chevron), a check-cashing place, a car wash, or a convenience store like a 7-11.

Anyone else have new thoughts? This is a piece of the puzzle that I don't recall WS solving yet.

To me, it always looked like the outside of a bank. You know the little counters where people can write out their deposit slips?

The counter is very thin. It doesn't look like a counter at a gas station or inside any kind of business because it looks like a thin sort of platform. That's why I thought it may be outside a bank.

Yup! That's what I was looking for -- thanks! So, JB's last log-on for that site was a couple days before logging on to her other dating site (the Christian one). She's still actively looking for a sugar daddy or Christian man and, uh, not actively looking for her missing son. Bad, Julia, bad.

This seems so delusional to me. Doesn't she know that the nation is aware of this case and her? Does she think a nice guy is really going to want to date the woman whose child went missing and who accused her ex of dv, lost custody of her other child, and whose mental issues have been revealed as severe and clearly not treated?

Yes Cubby, he should. It is just easy for me to think of him that way in my mind. Being a Mom it is in my nature to want to nuture. No offense to SM meant at all. He deserves to be with him.

I took your posts as merely descriving what Sky should be doing, alive, whether with his mom or dad or anyone - just alive.

I enjoy those posts, imagining him being cared for so lovingly, like all little boys and girls should be.

Sadly, I don't think he was cared for in such a manner during his life with his mother. I think she was too busy immersed in her illness to properly care for sucha sweet, little thing.

Does anyone have thoughts on why it's taking LE so long to release an update about what they found at Watershed Park (and, possibly, other searches?). I suppose it could be that the lab results still aren't in so they have nothing to report. Or, perhaps what they collected didn't amount to much and they don't want to announce that they have nothing on JB aside from a wacky story. Or, perhaps, it came to something and they're figuring out to proceed from here. What do you guys think? I'm hoping we get an update soon. Every day that passes with no word breaks my heart a little more. I'm just glad they haven't announced that they're putting the case on the back burner and moving on. Fingers crossed that we get word soon!

I hope Solomon is correct and julia has only hidden Sky..but dont think that is the case. If she was gonna hide one she would've hid them both. I think his optimism about that prevents him from logically thinking about where julia may have disposed Sky's body. I do understand him not wanting to face that.

I think we all appreciated LE keeping us informed in the beginning..then they cut us off..zip..nada news. We can only pray that they are gonna catch julia.

Yeah, idk, but LE sure is quiet lately. I mostly think they are trying to figure out how to proceed. When you main suspect isn't mentally stable, it could be tricky.

I still have a slight hope that Sky is being hidden away. There is just something hinky about the Summer 2011 pics. I'm hoping that those March/April pics were really the last ones taken.

Last night I searched her julia0381 identity. Some things come up for Germany and Russia. It's hard to tell which, if any, are her. There was a Russian Photoshop sight. . .somehow I could believe that that one is her. But curiously there was some kind of Google maps download associated with her flickr (I think I found that on Peek You). I did download it, but have NO idea what it is or how it works. It had some kind of Google Earth sightseeing app. Is anybody familiar with this? I don't know if it was just the program or if this is something that Julia created. It kind of traveled all over. . .Paris, etc but landed somewhere in Southern California at the end. I wondered if this meant anything. :waitasec: Because, like I said, I wasn't really understanding what was going on or how this worked. (Yeah, I'm an idiot. .lol).

Why would the Bellevue police ask the man who reported the sighting to ask the Renton police to obtain the security footage? Wouldn't they do that themselves? Perhaps they know it is unlikely it was really sky, as in they have knowledge that Sky could not possibly be in Renton on that day...it just seems odd that they would request that a citizen do their detective work for them...

It sounds like the info at the link was from Renton police as it was told by the person who believed he had seen Sky at the Ikea on 11-12. My question is why would he wait until November 23rd to report a missing child he may have seen on November 12th - a full 9 days earlier. Why didn't he notify Ikea security or contact the police from the Ikea store? Or immediately when he got home if he didn't have a cell phone (with a description of the car this family was driving and their plates?)

In my experience, in Washington State the minimum payment a parent is allowed to make is $25 per month, provided they have no source of an income. As I understand it . . . the premise is that children's needs continue despite a parent not having a viable income source. They potentially could pick up cans from the side of the road and turn it in for child support (although that would be a lot of cans @ a penny a piece).

I know that most of you will not like this but in my opinion, JB would be most benefited if she embraced her mental health issues and applied for SSI benefits to cover her medical and a monthly stipend to live on (ie: approx $630 per month). She could pursue mental health treatment, ensure she had some stability, if she ever wants to work towards gaining custody back of MM. I certainly hope her Atty is looking out for her mental health issues . . . I fear she is a high risk for suicide and we might not ever get any answers from JB. (not that I am real hopeful right now that she will speak up).

(Nobody beat me up please . . . . just saying this would be the most beneficial thing that she could do for herself). I do not want JB to have custody of MM, I want her to help bring Sky home to his Daddy, and I don't think the best interest of MM is to be with her Mother currently.

I think the best thing for MM is to never be with or even see her mother again.

I understand and agree with you that the best thing for mom would be some kind of mental health care. My concern, based on the demonstrated anti-dad bias of the state in this case thus far, is that after mom getting some kind of treatment they will be looking for yet another opportunity to hand the daughter back into the clutches of this demon. They are, in many way, all but doing that NOW.

I agree with Chris on this one.

In all probability, she murdered her child. No matter the reason, that should be enough to deny her custody of any child, ever again.

I just have this horrible, nagging feeling that this case might end up like Kyron, Hailey Dunn, Haileigh Cummings, Jessyhe, Celina Cass, Baby Lisa, and the rest of the poor sweet children that go missing and are never found and never receive JUSTICE in the end. :rose:

Or facing a libel, or slander or character defamation suit.

I don't think Solomon's hope rests on damaging his daughter or not. I don't know of any parent of any missing child, minor or adult child, which doesn't hold out hope until evidence exists to prove otherwise.

I initially thought it might be a car rental desk but now I'm not sure. There is a dark thing on the counter that might be one of those pen holders. Do we know if JB is right or left handed?

What really stands out for me is the fact that we can't see her hands. The left one is cut out of the frame (I think LE intentionally made it a tight shot so that the location couldn't be easily identified) but the right one should be visible. It is a colour photo and you can easily see the skin tone on her face and neck. So why not her right hand? Is she wearing gloves? Or is it a trick of the light? Is she gripping the counter so her fingers are underneath?

I think Lowes has been ruled out but has anyone local ever rented a truck from Lowes or Home Depot? I wonder if she could be someplace like that.

I've attached a smoothed-out version of the photo (after reducing its size to get a sharper picture and then enlarging it, I was able to eliminate some of the pixelation).

I just came across a photo of a pregnant JB that I hadn't previously seen. Apparently it came from the "sugar daddy" site. How odd that she'd use a photo like that given what she was looking for there.

JB is left-handed, which led some sleuthers to believe she was writing something in that photo. Thanks for all your thoughts! My hope was that, if we could nail down the location of this photo, we could add it to our maps and see if anything fresh came of that. Maybe pinpoint where Sky might be. I know LE has the answer to where this photo was taken and what JB was doing there, so hopefully they have a piece of the puzzle that can help solve it.

ETA: Maybe JB was holding something in her right hand and LE blurred out that part of the photo, causing the area where her hand would be to look white? I'm guessing that or just a trick of the eye or she's clutching the underside of the counter -- not gloves.
