One other thing. Didn't we predict Julia would not visit M? Her OCD would probably make that difficult, in a supervised setting, as would what I believe is her desire to be in control.

<respectfully snipped for focus>.

RBBM

Thank you for this, Gitana. It's surely been said before here, but the desire for control explains so many of her actions:

1. Obsessive house-cleaning and organizing

2. The very interesting pattern of more FB postings during high-stress periods. (Control your emotions by displacing energy into online world)

3. Certainly the audiotapes of the visitation transfers

4. Attempting to back out of the mediated custody agreement (whether Sky was already gone at that time or not--this was an attempt to control the situation)

5. Refusal to talk to LE (perhaps enabled by her lawyers, but satisfying her desire to control)

6. Bartering to forgo support if allowed to leave to another state

And there must be more.

I don't think the surveillance images of her in sweats and mussy hair necessarily undercut this concept of "need to be in control," either. An addict, be it to a compulsive behavior or to a drug, will make subtle calculations to support their habit (cleaning or boozing or whatever it might be). IMO, a previously well-kept person whose circle has drawn tighter and tighter and finally narrowed down to just their own home as they scrabble to maintain control will make the calculation that it's ok to be seen in public in sweats for a minute, as long as they can quickly get back to the "safe" "controlled" space where they feel most comfortable.

I am not a psychologist and these are MOOs only! Thanks for the food for thought, all. :seeya:

For those that didn't get a chance to listen to the WS broadcast last night with Solomon and Clay Terry should really take a few minutes and listen to it. It was a great program and I'll tell you what, Solomon is so incredibly lucky to have an attorney like Clay Terry in his corner. Sky and M both are very fortunate to have Solomon and Clay Terry in their corner. Solomon seems like a wonderful person and if I could ever have the opportunity meet him, I would give him the biggest hug ever.

Solomon said last night on one, possibly two different occasions that once Julia made up her mind to do something, she would do it, and this is what seems to scare him the most.

There definitely were very few photos in which Sky looked like a bubbly little toddler...

The child was adorable but unfortunately for him he looked a lot like his father. And I bet JB wasn't too fond of the father toward the end of their relationship.

Yes, that lawyer was sharp. He is doing investigative work which normally lawyers don't even do.

This is exactly the reason why Sky is missing in my mind.

I think LE has been on top of everything, including the dates of flikr photos. However, you never know. Our sleuthers here solve cases. One decades old missing child case may be about to be solved right now due to efforts of our posters, specifically, our very own Cubby!

~~~Snipped by me
Please forgive this very OT post, but now my curiosity has been piqued.
Gitana or Cubby, could you tell me which case you are referring to here, please, and if possible, provide a link to the related thread(s)?
It is no wonder I never get anything done here at home--I read about all these cases, then someone mentions another one and I just HAVE to go take a look-see. LOL
Thanks in advance.
OT: I think gitana1 was referring to the case of Anna Christian Walters who disappeared in the 1970's from Half Moon Bay, CA. It is truly a heartbreaking case. Check it out, but please keep in mind that Anna's mom and brother are members here at WS and do read and post in Anna's thread....I'm sure it is very difficult for them as they waits on possible answers in Anna's case. Realizing the dream of finally having Anna home may also mean having to let go of the dream that Anna could still be alive somewhere.
Here is the link to the thread discussing the possibility of Anna Waters being found:
Have we found Anna? Possible match to NamUs case #9597 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community
I'm sure Sky's father could sympathize. I came in here to post that Sky's case has been added to NamUs today. If you're not familiar with NamUs, it is a website/project funded by the DOJ that makes missing and unidentified persons data available to detectives and coroners across local and state jurisdictions. Some of that information is also available to the viewing public. Those of us that hang out in the Unidentified forum use NamUs frequently to compare potential matches to unidentified persons.
Here is Sky's profile:
o/t How does a missing child/person get added to the NamUS database? Does the family submit a request or is it done through LE?
I did a quick search and found Holly Bobo, Lindsey Baum, Haleigh Cummings but nothing came up when I searched Lisa Irwin, Hailey Dunn, Jennifer Kesse...just curious.
IIRC it's either way. LE can submit their missing persons or the family can submit info but it has to be verified if it's a non-LE source I think.
I think Donjeta is right. I just wanted to add that NamUs is a tool available to LE, but entry of cases into NamUs is not required. NamUs has only been around for a few years now, so there are still "cold" cases being entered into NamUs from five, ten, even twenty or more years ago. At the same time, I often see cases entered just a few weeks after someone has gone missing. Some jurisdictions are much more consistent about using NamUs than others. It seems like as time goes on though, more and more places are using it.
Will it help to find Sky? I don't know, but it can't hurt.
Sky's LKA date on his Namus page is November 6th. I wish there was some mention that this is the day he was reported missing but it is not as straightforward as that.
Good morning everyone! I loved listening to Solomon and Clay; they are both compassionate men who obviously love Sky. I hope that today is the day that brings some answers.
I think at the end Julia even may have pulled away from her friends. I think in her attempt at control, she needed to pull away for her plan to work. Didn't early on LE or someone say that one person in JB's circle or in her family was cooperating? I will have to go and look that up. If they only mentioned her family, I wonder if the friends are cooperating? I know that on FB, SO posted something that showed she was a bit shocked by Julia's lack of talking to LE. I just hope she has honestly told them everything that she knows.
I would love to know exactly how a Grand Jury works. In Kiplyn Davis' case, they called a grand jury. The boys that were responsible for her disappearance were questioned under oath. They lied, and they were found guilty of perjury. I do not know why they didn't just plead the 5th. That is why I do not understand how a GJ works.
I would love to see a grand jury bring Julia, her mother, her brother, and her friends in and question them about his disappearance.
Fall, 2011 Timeline:
October 14th: Trash gets emptied at Veloce Apartments (I called to verify)
October 15th or 16th: Neighbor claims to see Sky
October 19th: SVU "Missing Pieces" airs
October 19th: JB posts on facebook
October 21st: JB posts on facebook
October 21st: Trash gets emptied at Veloce Apartments
October 23rd: JB posts on facebook twice
October 24th: JB offers to forego child support and move with the children
October 26th: JB accesses Sugar Daddies site before taking a long hiatus
October 27th: JB borrows SB's car
October 28th: Trash gets emptied at Veloce Apartments
November 2nd: 12-hour mediation (children reportedly left unattended at home)
November 4th (at 1:28am): JB's last public facebook wall posting
November 4th: JB backs out of custody agreement
November 4th: Trash gets emptied at Veloce Apartments
ETA: November 5th: REPEAT of SVU's "Missing Pieces"
November 6th: Sky reported missing by JB
November 17th: Flurry of flickr uploads to JB's account
November 27th: JB's flickr account goes private
ETA: I don't think LE has searched landfills because it would be too difficult to do without a date. Trash gets emptied every Friday at Veloce Apartments, so that, combined with the timeline, should help narrow things down.
This may seem like a very strange question, but do you think what we see on julias fb page is all of it. I know when you friend someone you can see alot more of the postings then the general public, could we just be seeing the public ones.
The reason I say this is because my daughter has a friend on fb that when i look at it through my account I can only see certain posts perhaps once a month. On hers there are postings everyday.
They have to have evidence of a crime before the case can be brought before a grand jury. Julia is not a suspect yet.
That's why I believe there was no cadaver dog hit and it's just a rumour.
I just finished listening to the radio show and....wow. CT deserves a "Lawyer of the Year" award, no? He's amazing. I know lawyers often get a bad rap, but I get a genuine feeling from him that his heart is truly involved in this. I am so glad SM has CT as a support.
Search & Seek: I know this sounds horrible -- but it might be worth considering altering the missing posters to include a note about the fact that Sky might have been underweight at the time of his disappearance. If M was that emaciated, it's likely Sky was too and it might jog someone's memory if they saw a malnourished toddler who didn't necessarily look like the toddler in the photos that are being put out. Just a thought.
Actually, they did not have any "evidence" of a crime in Kiplyn Davis' case. They didn't have her body, no blood evidence, nothing. They did have witnesses that stated that the perps bragged about killing her. However their bragging varied from person to person. One person was told that she was in the train tunnel, one person was told she was on the mountain, one person was told she was buried in a tool box... Maybe the testimonies from the "friends" from the different parties gave them enough to call it a crime.
However, if this is the case, I would think that they have enough evidence to call Sky's case a crime. They have Julia's own words saying that she left a 2 year old alone in a car for over an hour. This is a crime. This is neglect at the very least. They also appear to have her admitting to leaving him home alone for 12 hours during mediation. This is extreme neglect IMHO. This is a crime. She admitted it herself. So, IMHO, they should bring her in on neglect charges and question her about his last known location.
I guess I am just hoping. But, I think that what they are doing now is not accomplishing their goals. I think they should shake it up and bring her in.
:sigh:
It's definitely possible, but I think it's unlikely. JB's facebook wall shows her posts, friend requests, "likes," profile edits, and what she posted on other peoples' walls -- basically, everything you could put on your wall. It's possible she made a particular comment private from public view, but I doubt it since everything else is so public and we know that she prefers to keep things public (flickr, the audiotape of the M exchange, facebook) and that she relies on these internet forums to promote her image (i.e. the flurry of flickr uploads and changing her facebook profile picture to a photo of her and Sky). So, I believe everything we see is everything that is there. It would fit with what we know of Julia.
