I'm still updating the media links, and putting them all in one post. There are soooo many it's taken me days and days and days. I've separated videos from articles so the final post won't be too huge.

From some of the earliest reports, it does seem that police were close to making an arrest once. I can't work out if it was simple lack of evidence or a hope someone would lead them to Sky, that held them back.

My jaw hit the floor when I read Soloman's custody deposition. My heart breaks for that poor man. If only people had listened to his warnings about Julia's mental health. Or at least investigated if they were true.

Anybody who knew how bad Julia had become and helped her conceal it, has made a terrible, terrible mistake in my opinion.

It would be interesting to see when her symptoms began; however, I don't think that her symptoms really fit with psychosis. I do wonder if whatever mental issues she does have did start postpartum. Interesting! We do know that she has issues that should be treated - and if I remember correctly, she denied needed treatment for said issues.

My heart is broken today for a new little angel taken to heaven during the night.

:sigh: Where is Sky? Wouldn't it be amazing to find out that he was still alive and hidden somewhere??!! Where is the outrage that Sky is still missing? Why did JB's friends stay quiet?!! :sigh:

I read that Julia was on medication that seemed to be some help, but she stopped taking it when she became pregnant with Sky. I'm a little surprised that the doc who originally prescribed those medicines didn't keep a close eye on Julia, and put her straight back on her meds after Sky was born.

Maybe she stopped visiting him though. It's a great pity, because early intervention after Sky's birth might have averted what we have today.

I could see how post-partum psychosis might seem to fit the bill. However, I think it's more likely that JB suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. This is different than what most people think of when they they hear Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This is a disorder of the personality.

Below is a link to an interesting article on OCPD that describes it pretty well. I think it's entirely possible that pregnancy and the hormones/bodily changes it involves could have exacerbated JB's symptoms -- especially given that a lot of her obsessions and compulsions revolve around food and body image. If she was gaining weight and craving food at "undesirable times" due to the pregnancies, I find it plausible that this messed with her mind, too, as she has this image of what the perfect body and eating ritual looks like.

A person with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder tends to be very rigid, controlled, constricted, preoccupied with regulation, orderliness, perfection, things of that type. There is a wish for predictability. There is a resistance to any kind of change. They are so excessively conscientious and scrupulous and so unempathically and inflexibly tyrannical that it is difficult to maintain a long-term relationship with them. They regard their impossibly high moral, work, and ethical standards as universal and binding. Consequently, they trust no one and are difficult to deal with and stubborn.

http://www.healthyplace.com/persona...er/obsessive-compulsive-personality-disorder/

I think it's likely JB has OCPD in addition to another personality disorder -- it's just hard to surmise which one not having met her. I think antisocial personality disorder or schizotypal personality disorder would make sense as being comorbid with the OCPD.

Regardless of her actual diagnoses, it's clear JB had major mental health issues that were affecting her ability to maintain close personal relationships, care for herself and her children, and that, despite Solomon's best efforts, no one was able to get that family the help they so desperately needed. It's so sad.

Thank you SO much zwiebel for working on Sky's media link. :pcguru: It is MUCH appreciated. :heartbeat:

It was imamaze who did all the hard work of gathering all those links originally. I think I have just about got everything together now, so I'll be posting them later. It has been enlightening but heartbreaking, reading how this case progressed. I am just overwhelmed with the feeling that this is one disappearance that really shouldn't have happened - and could have been avoided.

There seem to be people out there putting Julia's welfare before Sky's, and I believe they should be stepping up now. Not only because this little boy deserves their support, but because I believe the silence surrounding Julia's possible role hasn't helped her at all. It's just enabled her. She has been named a person of interest in this case and seems to have gone ahead and ruined her own life as well as other people's, while those who support her have stood back and watched, in my opinion. It appears the worst has already happened, but I still worry about what might happen next. I would be a lot more worried if I was a friend or family member.

I so agree with you! I know logically why now is not the right time to arrest Julia, however, the same has happened with other cases. LE waits and waits, says they don't have a case and then something horrible (just as horrible or more than the original crime) happens. Who knows what Julia might do once she feels the walls closing in. At least she doesn't have a vehicle to get her around and she is more likely to not go out of her home.

I think LE needs to approach and re-interview Julia's family and friends and put some pressure on them. Make them see who/what Julia really is. Ask them if they truly believe that little boy is somewhere safe with other people... and why they believe that. If they believe that, have them prove it.

BBM - I just wish, that LE could somehow force Julia and her family into talking. argh.. this is the most frustrating case I have ever read about..
If I lived in the same country as Julia, I would promise you all, I would take it personally upon myself to make Julia's life as uncomfortable as I could without being arrested.. :banghead:

Julia and her family all need to be thrown away in :jail:

Maybe some of her friends or family are finally ready to try and help police, but if not approached, they will just sit idly by.

You know, when Cindy Anthony finally put a few pieces of the puzzle together, she was angry and called the police. When is Julia's Mom going to get angry. Maybe Julia's mother wasn't as close to her grandkids as Cindy Anthony was to Caley. Didn't it make her mad that Maile was undernourished/underweight when returned to her father?

Aren't any of Julia's 'friends" angry about Sky?? Angry about being used by Julia? It's time to come forward and offer to help the police!!!

Here are the updated links, at last. I haven't included every single one already in the media threads, because some were broken and quite a few were identical. Any obvious errors and omissions, please let me know - there were a lot to check!

Awww, I got so excited when Sky was bumped - I was really hoping for a miracle. I still can't believe he's still missing and she's still free. This world has fallen off it's axis.

  • #551
Yes, it certainly has for little Sky.

But skies have a way of clearing suddenly, and I have a feeling time is catching up with someone.

  • #552
Nothing? Nothing...in all these months Sky is still missing and Julia is still walking free. What's wrong with this picture aside from everything?

Sky baby, the good people on the Sky crew are never going to give up on you. If your mother had a single decent bone in her body she would end this nightmare but her true colors have been shining through since she first made up that ridiculous story about leaving you in an unlocked car for an hour while she walked a mile to get gas.

I wish you were home with your daddy and big sister. I know they miss you.

Sending some love from Boston for Sky.

Love and remembrance from Louisiana, for Sky. Hard to believe he has been gone so long and Julia isn't looking for him but rather is still looking for someone to take care of her.

You know - that's one of the biggest things that upsets me about this case. In the beginning, she was too distraught to go in and meet with LE to answer additional questions and/or take a lie detector.

Now, she admits that all is well in her life and she is out searching for a job..ahem...rather someone to take care of her. She said she is willing to do ANYTHING.

If she's willing to do ANYTHING, why hasn't she gone down to the PD and talked to them about her missing son??? :banghead:
