Dear Sky Crew,

In response to my 10/22/13 email to Bellevue Police Department,

"Dear Bellevue Police Department,

Are there any updates you can share regarding the Sky Metalwala case? As you know, it is coming up on two years since he was reported missing. I would like to post an update from you, if possible, on Websleuths.com. We haven't forgotten this precious child. I hope and pray you have something to work with and the case has not gone cold.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
..."

This is what I received today:

"...,

Thank you for your email. We haven’t forgotten either. The missing child case is still an open investigation. Look for my press release next week prior to the two year anniversary of when he was reported missing. No new information is available at this time.

Best Regards and thank you,

Officer Carla Iafrate

Thank you Chela for emailing them and reminding them that Sky isn't forgotten!

It's disheartening to me that there is no new information - 2 YEARS later!!! It sickens me that Julia has gone on with life as though her kids meant nothing to her. Instead of looking for a job, she should've been in :jail:

Bumping for Sky and on the look out for a press release that might have some information(?) One day closer, Sky.

I was hoping to find some progress, but so far nothing. I cannot imagine what the parents who go through this must feel. :(

4 more days and it will be exactly two years since our boy disappeared. Where is he???

Sky is not forgotten. I keep him in my signature and have since the day I picked up this case.

Good question Rouge as to why the Grand Jury couldn't indict Julia on something. Child abuse, child neglect, child endangerment, something, anything. At least maybe it could get her to give some damn answers.

While I don't imagine the press release will have much new information, it may. Eagerly awaiting just in case.

Never forgotten Sky, we love you, one day closer sweet boy.

Sweet child . . . Sky Crew loves you and you are always in our hearts! You should be home with your Daddy and Sister. We want you to be found and we hold you close in our spirit.

"In a news release Monday, Bellevue Police Maj. Pat Spak said the department has pursued more than 2,200 tips and leads in the case, and investigators remain frustrated that they've been unable to find the boy."

I started with this thread but sorry to admit that I kind of dropped off after awhile. It's just so frustrating: why DIDN'T they indict the mom?!?

I just can't believe it's been so long and nothing has happened. Sorry, little buddy. :(

I contacted a few news channels and HLN is the only one I have heard back from. They do NOT plan to do an update on Sky's case on this anniversary. How hard would it be to do a 60 second update to remind the public that this beautiful little boy is still "missing"? SO FRUSTRATING! Yet they can talk all day and night long about the same case. :banghead:

"The Bellevue Police Department says it has existed all leads in its search for Sky Metalwala, a 2-year-old boy who went missing in the city Nov. 6, 2011, though detectives remain hopeful he may one day be found."

NOTE: That should say "has exhausted".

So, in the meantime, Julia gets to live her life as though Sky never existed? What can we do to make sure she is made to face the fact that her child "disappeared" on her watch? She's been charged before for leaving him alone in a car. What makes this time so different? I don't feel he will ever be found (IMHO they missed that opportunity 2 years ago when they should've searched the landfill). With that said, she severely neglected MM. Why isn't/wasn't she charged with that? She admittedly left MM and Sky home alone for 12+ hours during the mediation. Why isn't she being charged with that? My fear, from the beginning, has been that they will take so long that the statute of limitations will run out on all of these other possible charges. I'd rather see her spend 5 years (made up amount of time) in prison for these lesser charges than see her never face a judge for the disappearance of Sky. And the latter is likely to happen. :moo:

From the article: "...Biryukova has yet to be formally interviewed by law enforcement." :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I'm just disgusted with her and this whole lack of investigation. These laws MUST change!!!! I've said it before and I'm saying it again -- NO ONE should ever be able to hide behind their 5th Amendment right when a child's life is on the line.

Oh Sky, where are you little man?

Why aren't there better laws when a child goes missing? I know that the "accused" have and deserve rights, but what about the rights of the victim? Why can't they at least interview her? Arrest her for endangerment so that you have her under your roof so that you can question her! Arrrggghhh!!! So frustrated!!

Our Sky Crew is awesome! I wish we could do more.

Metalwala holds faith that police will find son who went missing two years ago

Kirkland father Solomon Metalwala lives life like his son Sky is still with him. Though the boy went missing two years ago when he was 2 years old, Metalwala said most everything he does every day involves his son.

These two paragraphs break my heart
"We talk about him like we would (if) he was still with us. I think that is the best therapy for both of us. We need to honor and recognize that he is still in the Metalwala family."

"I would just like to tell her that whatever happened between us, it should have (stayed) between us… (Our kids) are just innocent. They don't need to be involved in this," he said.

"If she had something so drastic to do, she should have done it to me."

This one adds hope, but I imagine SM feels such despair.
Metalwala said he and his attorney continue considering a civil case against Biryukova.
