Catching up on the Sky thread. Thinking of you dear boy. I wish I could read the minds of the BPD and understand why they are not putting the screws to Julia. There must a good reason though(?) I'll never give up on you, Sky. And I have faith. One day closer sweet boy.

Nearly HALF the folks I spoke to this weekend,as I was passing out Sky's missing flyers, thought he had already been found.
I seem to get alot of comments,like....."ohhh they havent found him yet?"....or..."I didnt know he was still missing".
I have to remind myself that not EVERYONE has had the chance to fall in love with Sky,the way WE have. We're pretty darn lucky..imo.

Always looking for you Little Man...

Wow that is really cool Gatekeeper! No way was I going to let that little tid bit get by me, I had to ask what you did with your chemistry knowledge in real life!

I have a feeling that the reason we probably won't see a civil suit in this case for either Sky or his sister is because Solomon is simply "too nice". I mean, I've met him in person at the balloon release and he is completely devastated about Sky but, I don't think he has the "revenge gene" in him to want to cause any additional trouble or trauma or whatever to Julia. He just doesn't seem to be the kind of person who thinks like that.

I on the other hand....want to see charges and a very long prison sentence for her.

I also think that Solomon (especially given the recent article) does not have the money to go after her. It costs money to fight and go after someone. He lost everything because of JB. I feel so sorry for him. He is also likely trying very hard to concentrate on little M. What a sweet, sweet man he seems to be. He did not deserve everything that was thrown at him - in court and in life - because of JB.

 Where is Sky??

So, it appears that the problem of filing a civil suit in advance of a criminal suit might not be double jeopardy, but revealing evidence from the criminal investigation to support civil litigation could damage the prospects of successful prosecution in a future criminal trial. I definitely see the application to Sky's disappearance. Solomon has been working closely with investigators, so he wouldn't file a civil suit without consulting investigators. The only reason they would possibly advise him to file a civil suit would be if they felt they didn't have a solid criminal case with the evidence they've obtained. So, the fact that Solomon hasn't filed a civil suit against Julia is a promising sign that investigators are confident about future criminal proceedings. I hope I am correct.

Thank you, Indy Anna! This gives such hope! I think it makes perfect sense, now that you mention it. I wonder what's the longest a prosecutor's office has held out on filing charges in a missing-but-presumed-dead-child case when they've known who the perpetrator/murderer was from the get-go? KWIM? I wonder if a year and a half isn't really all that long in the scheme of things and charges are on the horizon?

I am NOT saying either way whether or not I believe Jonbenet Ramsey's parents were involved in her murder, but it is interesting to note that while she was murdered in 1996, it wasn't until 1999 that a grand jury found sufficient evidence to indict both parents on charges of child abuse resulting in death. That's three years after the fact! That's the only case I can think of right now where the parents were at one time implicated in the death of their child as a result of abuse and that it took years before any charges were brought up. Perhaps the hands of justice simply move more slowly on tying up some cases....

JUSTICE FOR SKY!!!!

On Monday (3/18) I was listening to the Ron and Don Show on 97.3 radio station. They were going on about something the Bellevue Police Chief did or said.... anyway, then one of them says "and where is Sky Metalwala???" Meaning since the BPD has been having so many problems lately, i.e. affairs between officers/detectives, officers misbehaving at sports stadium, and now whatever it was the BPD police chief said or did, that maybe there is a problem with the leadership at BPD. So at least they mentioned Sky and are thinking about him.

It's time for Bellevue Police chief to go after latest black eye
http://mynorthwest.com/108/2230228/Its-time-for-Bellevue-Police-chief-to-go-after-latest-black-eye

Article discussing recent problems....

The Bellevue Police Department is in the news again for all the wrong reasons. And KIRO Radio's Ron and Don say it's time for Chief Linda Pillo to go.

Hoping that new eyes on the case may help move our case forward. Where is Sky?

"And where the h*11 is Sky Metawala?" asks Don in reference to the high profile disappearance of the little boy missing since November 2011

fre:BBM - Most excellent!!!! :rocker:

I wish that I were feeling well enough to be able do something to help get Sky's name out there again.

Sky, we love you so much and want you home with your Daddy and sister. I will do whatever I can, as soon as I can.

Awesome that this question is still being asked. Maybe like the ones Gatekeeper ran into, most people think he's been found??? So happy that radio personality put the word out that Sky is still missing.

New eyes is what this case needs and a Police Chief that cares about solving this case.

Where is Sky Metalwala???

I wish there was a lawyer posting here to give us some answers about a civil suit against Julia. My understanding had always been that someone who was found financially liable for wrongdoing in a civil litigation could not later be tried in criminal court for the same offense because it would be considered double jeopardy. There have been several cases, of which the only one I can presently think of is the O.J. murder trial, where family members of the victim(s) filed civil charges after the accused was acquitted in a criminal trial. The only instance I can think of in which a civil suit was filed preceding criminal prosecution is Desiree Young's civil suit against Terri Horman in Kyron Horman's disappearance. I think DY filed the suit out of desperation, though, thinking a civil suit was the only way to expose information leading to Kyron. But, the civil case was abated when supposedly new evidence was found. This article explains the actual reasoning behind the abatement: http://www.katu.com/news/local/Lega...Horman-case-a-hint-of-progress-181287271.html

In that article, the Chief Deputy DA is cited as stating in court records that "premature disclosure of the information ... could jeopardize that on-going investigation." So, revealing evidence surrounding Kyron's disappearance in a civil case would hinder the investigative process necessary to prosecute the case in a criminal court. From the same article:

So, it appears that the problem of filing a civil suit in advance of a criminal suit might not be double jeopardy, but revealing evidence from the criminal investigation to support civil litigation could damage the prospects of successful prosecution in a future criminal trial. I definitely see the application to Sky's disappearance. Solomon has been working closely with investigators, so he wouldn't file a civil suit without consulting investigators. A civil suit definitely does not create a double jeopardy problem.

Thanks SeaEclipse :seeya:

I was just wondering if you could point me in the right direction? Can you tell me where I can read up on this? You seem confident in your statement...and Id love to know where your info is coming from. Maybe a link or an article? :)

Wow. I haven't been on in a while. Not since news first broke of little Sky's "disappearance." But Sky never left my thoughts! I will continue to pray that he will be found-either dead (which is what I think is the case) or alive. I just caught up on reading on all the posts I missed while I was away from WS. Seems like there haven't been too many new developments :( At least Solomon has sole custody of little M now. That is great :)

I really wish JB would tell LE where her son is! At least give Solomon and M some closure.

I made this video back in Dec. 2011. I don't know how helpful it really is. At least I've gotten word out on YT about Sky.

Thank you for the video. I got lost in Sky's big brown beautiful eyes. I'm sadden to think that little guy is gone. What kind of monster could do something like this??? Sky, where are you??? We need to bring you home.

Is Julia still living in that apartment? Sounds like Solomon said he lost both houses and his job. (I thought he owned a few businesses?)

Unless M saw something, I am sadly unconvinced we will ever know what happened to Sky. If she DID see something, then it is great that she is with her dad, whom she trusts, and her mom has no visitation. Give her time...remember how long it took for Elizabeth Smart's sister to remember, and she was many years older.

I believe that M knows more than we think. She just isn't able to vocalize it properly or really comprehend what exactly happened to Sky. I don't know if she sees a therapist or anything, but if she does, play therapy is one of the things they do with young children to help them remember events and such. Maybe she was brainwashed too much by Julia that she might not remember what happened in the days and weeks leading up to Sky's disappearance. I really hope that isn't the case! M is really the only "lead" so far as to what possibly happened to her brother. Without her speaking, we may never know where or WHAT happened to Sky :(

Thinking of our Sky. Not giving up, one day closer.

What an awesome video! Thanks!!

Which makes me wonder what would happen if we could do up a short clip and send it to various media outlets if it might spur additional reporting or even airing of it?

One never knows what might happen.

Awesome idea!! I just learned how to do a video on my camera for the first time. Who knew that I only needed to push the button that looked like a video camera?? So....I'm no help for creating one from nothing.

I can help find pictures though. Even if the local stations don't air it, I would bet that they would put it on their websites. But, it's been a while now, they might just be willing to do another short story on Sky...

I wonder if that guy from the Bellevue or Kirkland reporter would do a new story. He was very passionate about this case and I also met him at the balloon release.
