:grouphug: We love you Little Man!!

I STILL feel like somethin is a brewwin!! :please:

This is a technical question, but does anyone know why, if Sky isn't on the home page and you do a search, only the old threads come up?

I'm only asking because I sometimes have to click through loads of old threads to get to this one, and I wouldn't like any new posters to have that problem. If this is just me doing something wrong, please let me know.

It is. Probably not quite what you're expecting though. :)

Are you using the main search bar across the top of Websleuths? Are you sure you're spelling Sky's name correctly?

Threads with the most recent posts are always the ones to come up first.

this case just makes me so sad. I do not understand how she can continue to not be charged with SOMETHING. FGS, she disappeared her kid.

Frustrating

Oh dear, I'm a total fool. Blush. It's me putting an extra 'a' in sometimes.

Thank you.

Most women would show more concern if they lost their purse, let alone their baby.

Ah well, as I can't find any new news, I'll bump an old article.

'Seventeen months later, and the mother still refuses to talk with authorities, or co-operate with them in any way'

http://www.seattleweekly.com/home/944912-129/sky-biryukova-metalwala-months-police-terry

The mother referred to is Julia Biryukova. She's from the Ukraine. Here's a lovely pic of a boy standing beside the Ukraine's most famous monument, Mother Motherland. I don't think Sky will ever get the opportunity to visit his mom's native land now, and learn about part of his own heritage. What a pity for Sky, and for any of Sky's relatives there.

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=31439020

In the Seattle Weekly article, it states:

"Biryukova’s attorney, Rob Wyman, a public defender, did not return phone calls."

I thought Julia had a female attorney. Maybe it's just been so long that I'm not remembering this attorney's name. It's just lovely (sarcasm) that our tax dollars are also paying for her attorney fees.

Bree0372, I was feeling a little smug at your post, I have to admit. Because I was thinking I'm in Germany so my tax euros aren't going anywhere near moms who lose their children then can't be clear about where to find them.

Then I remembered this gorgeous little girl here
Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - NEW FRANCE - Fiona Chafoulais, 5, Clermont-Ferrand, 12 May 2013

She is in France but that is part of the European Union and lots of tax funding is shared. So I'm probably helping fund her mom's attorney. That's mom who lost little Fiona in a park and isn't sure when, and seems to be just barely hiding a smile in all her press interviews.

Where are you Sky? Where are you Fiona?

Oh, please contact him and get Sky's name out there! I truly believe this is a case that could be successfully prosecuted without a body (that feels horrible to write, but it is what it is). Unfortunately, I believe JB put Sky in the trash chute of Veloce Apartments and I do not think his body will ever be found. At some point, LE has to move on and find other ways of successfully prosecuting this case with the limited evidence they have -- and I do believe it is enough for them to move forward (the key FoB swipes at Veloce, JB's movements in the days afterwards, the positive hits from cadaver dogs, evidence from little M, prior evidence of abuse and neglect, JB lying to police on the day of Sky's "disappearance," etc).

He is nice. And helpful and responsive. I am just getting together info so everything about Sky's story is clear and easily accessible. I'll keep you updated. Promise.

Let me know if you need extra info. Earlier in the case, I made a few timelines, including when the trash was picked up at Veloce Apartments around the time Sky likely went missing, when JB had key FoB hits in places like the garage, and my best guess on when Sky actually disappeared -- based on the timeline info, insider knowledge of the case file, and JB's postings on the internet (I used some psychological profiling on that one). All of the timelines are in prior threads on this WS forum and accessible by searching but I also have them saved on my computer if you can't find them. I would love it if you could contact this guy. Any help on this case is help indeed!

Ive been going over all the old articles..sorta because of a dream I had a couple weeks back. You are correct!!
Julias had a women attorney named Veronica Freitis. Im not sure whats up with that.

Lawyer defends mother

Freitas challenged the police characterization of Biryukova and said the mother has helped police in every way possible.

"She gave them her home, car, computer, cellphone. She talked to them for hours. What else is she supposed to do?" Freitas said Wednesday.

Freitas said she advised Biryukova not to take the polygraph test because Biryukova is emotionally overwhelmed and the tests are notoriously unreliable.

I had not heard of beautiful Fiona (I love her name). My heart breaks every time I see another child missing or worse - abused and murdered. I'll have to go read about her case.

Yes, Veronica ... that was her name. Maybe that was her family law attorney for the custody situation?? But, why would Julia have a public defender if she hasn't been charged with anything? It was Veronica who was representing her initially and stated Julia was too distraught to speak with police. Okay, a year and a half later...Julia is NOT too distraught to be STILL looking for a sugar daddy and/or a "job". She has moved on with her life as though nothing ever happened. I wonder if she even misses MM. We all know how she obviously felt about our little Sky. :banghead:

ETA: From that article:

BBM: I can't believe this attorney could ask such a stupid question. NOT ONE TIME has Julia done a search for Sky. NOT ONE TIME has Julia gone on tv BEGGING for the RETURN OF SKY. NOT ONE TIME has she done ANYTHING since that day. Emotionally overwhelmed??? What about Solomon? You know, the abusive ex (hardly). The one who has DONE EVERYTHING to try and FIND HIS SON!!!

Stepping away....

I saw a post by an attorney who said they always advise clients not to take a polygraph because it is a no-win situation; if it comes back with a truthful result, LE can say they don't believe it because results are unreliable. If it comes back indeterminate or untruthful, LE can say the person is lying.

Interestingly, the attorney also said the rare exceptions they make would be in the case of a missing child.

So I understand a lawyer saying that, but I do not understand why any innocent parent of a missing child would accept that advice. I'd have thought the first thing a parent would want to do is clear themself, so LE and the public could concentrate on finding their child and whoever had taken them. Declining to take a test just makes Julia look as though she has something to hide.

In Fiona Chafoulais's case I found out they conduct investigations in a really, really weird way in France. Their legal system can't be based on commonlaw. Mom was taken out to do a reconstruction where Fiona disappeared, along with a judge, a prosecutor, her attorney and a load of journalists. She then had to answer all their questions right there, in a public park. And one of the journalists got a picture of the judge sneaking his arm around mom's waist!!

I'm still shaking my head at that one.

The other day I posted a "how to" about inserting pictures. Well I just tried it on another thread, and I was/am COMPLETELY WRONG! So, I ended up using the "attach" function, not the "insert image". Which doesn't have the image showing up in the post, only after you click on it, opens it in another window. Basically, seems I have no idea!! Sorry!
