WA WA - Wallace Guidroz, 2, Tacoma, 10 Jan 1983

Possibly...I think the situations would differ from case to case. I know the mom has passed away and father was last living in Louisiana.

OK, so I was looking around for more info on Wallace and going on the link Mr. E provided regarding Russell Mort here http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/198dmny.html (also more info at http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/mort_russell.html), I stumbled across Jo Anna Maria Pederson on the Doe Network - Case File 377DFBC. She went missing in Chilliwack, BC Canada (which isn't terribly far from the US border) in 1983. A sketch is provided of a possible suspect which is eerily similar in description (note the vehicle) to both Russell Mort's case as well Wallace's. Think there's a possible connection?

Those sketches do look a lot like those in the Russell Mort case. Good catch there.

I thought briefly about Jeffery Dupres, because a couple was also involved in his kidnapping. It's a long distance, but if Mort was taken from New York...

On Monday, Wallace will have been missing for 18 years. :(

A man charged with murder in connection with the Wednesday stabbing death of his wife is a link to another crime from more than a quarter-century ago – the disappearance of his toddler son. The boy's decades-old disappearance s now under investigation as a cold-case homicide.

Same man - now it looks like they think he killed his son, too......

Well, this just changes everything. Does anybody know if the wife he murdered was the baby's mother?

  • #31
I thought I read that the baby's mom was dead. I wonder if he killed her too? The link that westcoastlady provided said that the lady he just murdered was his wife since 2003.

Interesting...

Is this the same Stanley Guidroz? For sure?

I quadruple checked before I posted. I knew I knew the name. I remembered this little guy and recall thinking how adorable he was.

Meanwhile no the wife he just murdered was not Wallace's mom. His mom died in 1997 although I have to check and see how. Lord only knows how many folks this guy murdered.

  • #33
Well that could certainly change the dynamics of little Wallace's case...

I know the main story is that he was likely abducted by the "mystery couple". They even have another witness that said they saw the couple in the park that day. But I wonder if there were ever any doubts or inconsistencies in the story.

Thanks, Kat. This has always been such a bizarre case. Now even more so, IMO.

Tacoma police near cracking 1983 case of missing toddler

Tacoma police believe they are close to solving a 28-year-old cold case involving the disappearance of a young boy.

[snip]

When cold case detectives began reviewing old cases in 2007, they learned that Stanley Guidroz was never fully eliminated as a potential suspect. Then, this past March, Guidroz was arrested in Louisiana as a suspect in the murder of his current wife.

Fulghum says Tacoma detectives went to Louisiana to interview him about the 1983 case and learned that Wallace's remains are likely buried in Tacoma somewhere along Ruston Way. Investigators will begin searching there for the boy's remains.

Fulghum said Tacoma detectives went to Louisiana to interview the man about the 1983 case, and learned that the boy's remains are likely buried somewhere along Ruston Way in Tacoma

"They just used the cadaver dogs and ground-penetrating radar, and they found some anomalies here that led them to believe this is the area," said Fulghum.

I personally remember this case and I always was suspicious of the dad. Praying that this case is finally solved and he can be given a proper burial.

The Ruston waterfront is a big place. I hope they're not done after one day...

No remains found in Tacoma cold case

Tacoma police detectives spent Tuesday digging in an open area along the city's waterfront for the remains of Wallace Guidroz, a toddler who disappeared 28 years ago.

[snip]

No remains were found, and the search was called off around 3:30 p.m., Fulghum said. Detectives did not intend to return to the site Wednesday but "will evaluate what they've got and decide on their next course of action," he said.
