Possibly...I think the situations would differ from case to case. I know the mom has passed away and father was last living in Louisiana.
Stanley Guidroz murdered his wife. He drove her dead body around the State for seven hours and then walked into a police station telling him they murdered her and she was in the car.

A man charged with murder in connection with the Wednesday stabbing death of his wife is a link to another crime from more than a quarter-century ago – the disappearance of his toddler son. The boy's decades-old disappearance s now under investigation as a cold-case homicide.

Interesting...
Is this the same Stanley Guidroz? For sure?
Fulghum said Tacoma detectives went to Louisiana to interview the man about the 1983 case, and learned that the boy's remains are likely buried somewhere along Ruston Way in Tacoma
"They just used the cadaver dogs and ground-penetrating radar, and they found some anomalies here that led them to believe this is the area," said Fulghum.

Tacoma police believe they are close to solving a 28-year-old cold case involving the disappearance of a young boy.

When cold case detectives began reviewing old cases in 2007, they learned that Stanley Guidroz was never fully eliminated as a potential suspect. Then, this past March, Guidroz was arrested in Louisiana as a suspect in the murder of his current wife. Fulghum says Tacoma detectives went to Louisiana to interview him about the 1983 case and learned that Wallace's remains are likely buried in Tacoma somewhere along Ruston Way. Investigators will begin searching there for the boy's remains.
