Does anyone else think that Baez fears that the body will be found soon by Tim Miller, and that's why he filed these flurry of motions and why he's so intent on getting her out of the house??

So what's the upshot?

- No decision yet on the relaxing of home confinement
- Baez gets the discovery stuff he's entitled to, some of which has already been made available but he hasn't availed himself of
- no stopping of the testing
- Baez told to do his own homework

What was the upshot of the motion requesting that Kobi check the air in the trunk?

Most of this was JB looking for handouts from the prosecution. If he's working 6 hours everyday on this, why doesn't he have the information of his own? What is he doing during these 6 hours (I know loaded question)? It seems that IF his client were telling him the truth, and being forthcoming HE should have WAAAAY more info than the prosecution. HE represents the ONLY source that has info.:behindbar

OMG! What a side show! I lost count at how many times the judge told JB that he had to depose someone, do his own legwork, follow up on that himself, etc. So, if has not done any prep on his own, and is asking the state to give him everything they have on this case, what has he been doing for the last months?
I am the first to readily admit that I am not familiar with the in's and out's of law, but to me, I think his motions were little pissant things, and there was no need for this hearing. It is out there that charges will come soon, and he will get all the info then. I just feel that he came across like he was very unsure of himself.
I wonder how many cases he has had that have actually wound up in court?

I wonder know what is going to happen to her home confinement schedule since the State was really digging at the 6 hours at JB. They kept pressing the situation quite a few times. I will laugh if she is limited next week.

next week she will be in jail, denied bond, and charged with homicide.

It looked like JB still wanted to be there when everyone else left. He looks confused and I don't think his sidekick helped much either.

I concur 100 percent. JB not so good.

Prosecution, State Atty's, excellent, confident, knowledgeable. They knew their stuff, matter of fact, had JB's book memorized and actually used it against JB. I loved it when the male DA stated "two paragraphs down" when JB was discussing the car. Priceless.

:waitasec: I'm wondering (again) why, if JB was so hot to trot to have defense experts testing the evidence that the state has WHY JB didn't immediately file these motions of his. If he really thinks he's entitled to this relief requested, then he should have filed the requests immediately after her arrest and charging, instead of waiting weeks after weeks, when the testing on evidence collected thus far has (in all likelihood) already been performed by the state/invesitgative authorities. Really - what does he expect this to get him? Either there was enough to go around in the beginning, when he should have filed for that which he now requests, or there wasn't. IMHO, he has egg on his face either way you look at it.

He said "later today or the first of next week", then added "maybe" Monday. I believe that one will be denied or postponed for a few days next week because the state is filing additional objections "for cause" if I understood that right.

Okay, my Dad, retired police chief/FBI, career cop, investigator, detective, etc. I talked to him about the case - I asked him about the neglect charge, murder charge, check charges

He gave me an example - Rodney King in LA, he was acquitted of all wrong doing in that case - BUT the federal government convicted him of the same crime - the state lost, federal government won

So the State established today, that the federal government is doing their own investigation - Baez is requesting these documents and the State can't give them to him, he has to petition the federal government and the judge agreed, Baez can't have them

So there are two investigations - Federal and STate

help me ....I dont understand why the fed gov't would have any (I dont know the word I need, interest? jurisdiction?) in this case?


I mean if there was a crossing of state llines sure but otherwise what business is it of theirs? (dont get me wrong, the more charges they can slap on supermom the better, j/w is all)
