Walking down the hall quietly and organized is cruel?![]()
Oregon is a great state for hunting. A variety of wildlife is available during the Oregon hunting season. Generally, Oregon has some type of hunting available year round, but big game hunting is limited to specific seasons. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife regulates Oregon hunting and fishing and defines Oregon hunting and fishing seasons. <snipped> http://www.loonlakerv.com/oregon-hunting-guide.html
Dates for the different kinds of hunting are said to be here: http://www.dfw.state.or.us/
I have to be somewhere soon and don't have the time to research.
I am finding it quite difficult to reconcile the sheriff's stance that they believe Kyron is alive, with the need to hike the woods to stumble upon his body![]()
I think they are still looking for a live Kyron. That is what I gathered from all the LE interviews. But, several others are trying to keep the non-live Kyron scenario alive to be sure no stone was left unturned or maybe to find some evidence in areas?? I could be wrong!I am finding it quite difficult to reconcile the sheriff's stance that they believe Kyron is alive, with the need to hike the woods to stumble upon his body![]()

Me too but I suppose it doesn't hurt to cover all the bases. And maybe there are other missing persons in the woods around Portland as well.
I could be wrong, but didn't this comment come from Pat Brown, not LE?
In Kayleah's case, LE put out some very helpful information to the public regarding what to watch for, where to search, etc. Some of what they put out (there were two announcements, IIRC) would have indicated they acknowledge she might not be alive. I think MCSO has painted themselves into a corner here. I just hope that doesn't negatively impact the search for Kyron.
(RubyRed knows where to find the announcements from LE during Kayleah's search; I'm not having much luck )
ETA: the information included what could be suspicious activity on the part of the person who abducted her and also what to look for regarding where she may have been taken or left.

They probably should re-release pictures of his clothing.
I watched some show a while back about a police officer who was assigned to a missing kid case (it's been a while ago, so my details may be sketchy), and he was transferred or something. The case was never solved, but he continued to search the woods on his own during his time off. They fired him for that, but he eventually did find this little girl's bathing suit or a part of it, (?) or shirt or something in the woods, which eventually led to the perp or her body - a conclusion, if you will.
The Molly Bish case. I believe they also attempted to accuse this man of her disappearance.
OT but useful:
This is what LE said what Kayleah's abductor could be like.

Please check and look along road sides, back roads, fields, dump areas that we all may know about in the county or in the towns or areas you drive to or live near. These may be areas that you routinely drive, walk, run, jog, etc. Check any ditches or areas that are typically hard to see when driving by at high speeds. Other potential areas to check are under bridges, abandoned barns or structures that are not normally occupied, abandoned vehicles, etc.
If you notice a suspicious odor in an area, see activities in or around abandoned homes or property, or if you happen to see circling birds or gathering predators such as coyotes in or around an area, check it out if it is safe, or contact the local law enforcement agency near you to have it checked out.
