Websleuths Recognized By Media

I think the bolded parts are clues, too. :)

*Missing person was murdered
*Not a big national case
*A few years back
*Impressed reporter means WSers got very close!

Add to that:

*Sensational and crazy perp
*Case is closed

Yep, you got all the hints right. Now just figure out the case

I am actually working on it! (I have only been here for a bit over a year...so it means I have to research it blindly since it was before my time! LOL)

ETA:OK...I can see already this puts me at a huge disadvantage! Whew! So many, many cases I am not familiar with...so I think it is going to take someone who remembers working on it instead. (Do you know how many sensational and crazy perps there are in those files?!) Can you give us the year at least?!

:) Good luck, Sleuths!

I think I will throw out this name: Stephen Grant. He is definitely one of those crazy perps they should write a book about!

This will be fun. However I really can't tell you if you get it right but I'll give you a few hints.

Missing Person's forum. Not a current case. Think sensational and crazy perp.

That cancels the cases I listed. I'm in the same boat as SS. This is gonna be hard. I'll have to give this some thought.

ETA: why did I list the cases I did? They weren't missing persons, duh!

Can't be Joseph Duncan. Too big of a national case.

I'm trying to remember a crazy perp who was sensational and killed the missing person, but wasn't a national case.

My first thought of really crazy murder and missing persons was the Pig Farmer, but it wasn't covered that much on WS. The only other I can come up with is Mark Hacking.

Very cool DS!

My very dearset SuziQ,:blowkiss:
I appreciate your post very much and I want to thank-you for taking the time to read the threads I posted.

So much Love and Respect for you,

I thought about Mark Hacking, but that was a "big national case". Most of the cases I am familiar with probably are not going to be regional or local level cases and I followed that case. :( (What a Psycho!)

Congratulations to you Tricia and to all of the wonderful mods here!

Websleuths is a topnotch site!
There are a multitude of great people here!
I'm so glad I found it too!!!:blowkiss:

Ditto! Thanks Tricia and mods for giving us the opportunity.

I think the biggest thanks goes to you, Tricia... you created a place that has helped many, inspired many, and brought awareness to many. You, are awesome.

Thank you for sharing that with us! How cool is that?
Do they want our pictues or anything? I would like to play myself in the movie version :)

Me, too! Me, too! But first I have to get a face lift, hiney lift and breast implants. Oh, and dye my hair to "wash that grey" out!

How very cool, Tricia, that your site has gained such respect from many sources. Websleuths has been mentioned by news articles in print and online, and I think I remember a TV mention or two. You've built an awesome place for us to come together and "sleuth."

That's just awesome!

I swear sometimes when I watch Nancy Grace I wonder it any of the callers are from WS.

Certain times I hear a question asked and I say "Hey, (Websleuth poster) said that today!" and I'm convinced it's them calling in! I have been known to watch Nancy Grace and read Greta's blog JUST for this reason!

Lurker and Kgeaux, I do that, too! :) I can see Nancy's face someday when we start using our screennames when we call in. LOL (Or we could set up our own code word for our fellow WSers to know it is us.)

Sharon Marshall?

How about the pic of the deceased young woman in Iraq? The case was in the missing forum due to LE wanting to know who this girl was thinking she was in danger. The pic was found lying outside a gas station in the U.S. No one knew where the pic was from or if she were deceased at first. Some posters got really close to guessing her racial origin, that she was deceased, location due to her clothing, etc.

I don't know if that case was ever really solved plus there was no "sensational and crazy perp" associated with it.
