Yes ,direct messages. I can see your point ,but 99..9% of people just want to edit spelling or grammatical errors . Would it be possible to have an edit button which only allowed editing for a much shorter time ?

I think our point is... if we can edit our posts in MT's, why can't we edit them in DM's?

On a computer the default is Everywhere:

Clicking on the down-arrow gives you your other choices:

HOWEVER, you have to be IN a DM in order to get those 2 DM options. If you're in a MT, like we are now, you won't get the option to search in DM's. You'll see:

I think the short time frame that Skigh has suggested would work.
Usually, when I make a typo in DMs, I see it as soon as I have posted - and the option to do a quick correction would be great.

I can see Tricia's point re not wanting to allow posters to Edit their private messages. There have - occasionally - been issues in some private chats in the past - and it could turn into a He Said, She Said situation if someone were allowed to rewrite their remarks before the offending comment could be reported.
