On the Interrogation tapes, there is a lady investigator I don't really care for. Her tone of voice, obvious lack of details about Travis, whatever.... Just something about her I don't like. Doesn't make a hill of beans about how I feel about Jodi, though.

I'm pretty sure she's a detective in yreka. She didn't know all the details, but she was trying to help Flores out. I think she thought JA may open up to a woman----wrong, but worth a try. I thought she did some good work, actually.

If the Dr Phil posting is true, which it probably is,it just makes my blood boil. I have been trying to get my courage up to post on the PTSD thread, as I also have it and what happened to Travis is what I thought was going to happen to me during my kidnapping and rape by an escaped inmate with an 18" butcher knife and our gun that he found in our house while he spent the day waiting for us to return from work. The problem with our justice system is until the perp is convicted they seem to have more rights than the victim.

I am sure Travis's family was told by JM not to speak to the media as it could cause problems while prosecuting the case, that is what we were told. Meanwhile they still have real life bills to pay house payment, utilities and insurance. For those of us that have to work once vacation days are used there is no safety net if you are a victim or family of a violent crime. JA on the other hand has a place to stay and food to eat. But because of her Travis's family has had their lives turned upside down and through no fault of their own have to spend money to see justice for their brother. May God bless them and hope this trial ends soon with Justice for Travis.

I didn't think Flores did that great a job interrogating JA. He got nothing out of her but lies - not helpful at all. Oh well, we all have an opinion. :floorlaugh:

I think BOTH sides are afraid of him. He is too unpredictable. I think he escaped the false letter disaster by inches. And I am sure the state reminded him that they could reopen the mess and involve him in it if he tried to come on the stand and lie for her about seeing bruises etc. Just a hunch.
This may make me sound cynical but I am wary of stories of bruising. My nephew's crazy ex used to bruise herself so she could make the guy she was cheating with feel sorry for her. It didn't come out until she did the very same thing to the 2nd guy. It was scary and something I couldn't have imagined. I actually wouldn't put something like that past JA either.

Does anyone have a link to Juans opening statements... I found one but it does not start at the beginning...thanks !

I looked hard but that is the only one that I could find. Poor video, poor sound but very clear advert......mmmmm?

Both her parents had a gut feeling, I imagine. At least they were upfront about it at the time.

I see this a bit different. The father seemed very upfront but I am not so settled believing Mum was. Seems to me the first few things out of Mum were about mental issues that Jodi has. It just seems to me like a list of excuses instead of an admission that perhaps Jodi could have been involved. Da on the other hand, was more inclined to listen to Detective Flores about it.

Maybe I am just cynical because Mum tried to sell the fake letters concerning TA to the NE.

It's Friday night...and I have the freedom to do just about everything I want to do. Something Jodi will never have.

I always think you need a nice glass and some sipping whiskey with her voice.

I believe you are correct. I believe the "duty to retreat" would fall into this case because she clearly had the ability to flee and she was not in her own home. She was not being held hostage nor did she have a weapon on her threatening her life.

Now, she claims that he grabbed her, attacked her blah blah blah, but she also said she FLED away from him yet she didn't flee out the door to safety like she could have, she fled to obtain a weapon to kill him. I just don't see how legally there is a case for self defense, based on evidence and her story.

That's exactly why I was stunned when ALV cut off at the moment of JA's infamous shot as TA lunged at her. I thought ALV's purpose was more than just to support JA's DV allegation, but to also explain why psychologically JA viewed him as a threat even when he was physically unable to defend himself against her onslaught.

And as far as I know not a single foresnic medical expert to even support her allegation of head wound first. Not to mention getting a forensic ME to agree TA could even be a physical threat after the frontal lobe shot. And not a single substaniated injury on JA from this body slam, tackle, and "he just kept coming" alleged assault.

WTH, has the DT left the jury with? A fog. So sorry I can't remember the frensied stabbing and near decapitation. And TA wasn't a good BF for the 4-5 months we actually dated (while living in separate states mind you). And he wasn't a good F buddy when I moved to his home town (after the breakup)cause he called me names and beat me up. So sorry no corroborating witnesses to the physical violence and although I took 50 pics of myself a day (not one showing bruising or any other injury). And even though I loved taking my picture and bragging in my journal about the number of guys who wanted to date me, I really have low self esteem.

I'm knocking wood here, but I don't see a conflicted jury.

Dr Phil Production Company is paying for #JodiArias family living expenses - hotel, food and travel for the last 94 days in AZ.
I believe it is true plus:

Sandra Arias paid for daily notes she writes while trial testimony takes place.

Dr Phil paid license fee for photos and video of Arias Family.

Dr. Phil producer visited Jodi 2 times in jail so far per jailhouse visitor log.

I think part of it is out there but I could never find Juans whole opening statement. Sorry!

Bundy was not that brilliant, his IQ was 124. Genius or Mensa level is 160 I believe. Hers is lower than his I have no doubt. I am not saying that because I have a strong dislike of her - in fact I thought she was quite attractive in her prime, and think she can sing like an angel, and I freely admit that. But she is around average intelligence in my guestimation. I think it is easy to over estimate the IQ of psychopaths, mainly because they have an abnormal fear response - meaning they take many more risks and in so doing, are able to succeed where others would never believe that they themselves could.
I truly think that if any of us were without conscience, guilt, fear and empathy, we could plot and carry out a much better crime and leave a lot less people laughing to themselves saying "WTH was she thinking, that was so stupid!"
Jmo.

It seems the more highly intelligent psychopaths can be found on Wall Street etc. with their ponzi schemes and other financial scams.

While the lower IQ psychopaths resort to more brutal (in a physical sense) crimes.

Seems to me it's very serious what Jodi did with the messages in the magazine thing. IMO, the one JM pulled out in court is not the only one. Too sophisticated for a novice try.

MM is important to this case.

IMO~~

I agree. JM left that questioning open and I'm sure it will come up again during rebuttal. Not sure how he could bring it back up without MM though.

Mmmm..kay .... So what do you guys think the "real" truth is about Matt McCartney? Will he be called? Is he in some kind of witness protection program, under threat of being charged if he doesn't tell the "truth".

Do you think he will be called in the rebuttal case? I just think there must be some big "smoking gun" about to come out in rebuttal. So ... what say you?

JM left Jodi hanging when he said something about whether she thought MM would betray her. He sure made it sound like he has a bombshell but maybe he is just playing mind games with JA. I hope MM turns on her. That would make her fume!

And I thought I couldn't be more disgusted with Dr. Phil after he catered to Lisa Irwin's parents!? He's a major low-life!

Reflecting back on AlaV's testimony at cross, since we have no new material. She is amazingly defensive and the closely, affectedly modulated voice is not a good disguise for that. It may be her prime technique in dealing with people but, with her eyes squinting shrewdly and her challenges as to what Martinez is trying to make her say, she gives herself away utterly. If you are thinking about where an examiner is leading you, you are definitely not speaking candidly. The truth is not your objective. Because Martinez called her on every refusal to answer Yes or No, she was exposed as circumspect about her beliefs in her field and her opinions on the defendant. Coy she is not. The ultimate affront was when she sought to put the cross examination on her terms by demanding the prosecutor speak to her like she was speaking to him.

It would be an atrocity. Assuming, because Travis' family consists of siblings only, that there was never a wrongful death lawsuit filed against JA?

Is it true though? I mean that's a huge allegation ....come on. I trust twitter for actual news about as much as i trust facebook.....Or my pet lizard.....
