DET. Rachel Blaney. For gods sakes.

And she played her interrogation role perfectly.

Ffs. I think y'all just like complaining.

:therethere:

One person's complaint is another's opinion.

Is it true though? I mean that's a huge allegation ....come on. I trust twitter for actual news about as much as i trust facebook.....Or my pet lizard.....

Is what true? My post was based on the possibility of JA profiting while in prison from selling artwork, and what possible steps could be taken to prevent it.

I understand now from subsequent posts that the Son of Sam laws are applicable in AZ, therefore a moot point.

MOO

I didn't think Flores did that great a job interrogating JA. He got nothing out of her but lies - not helpful at all. Oh well, we all have an opinion. :floorlaugh:

I think Detective Flores did a remarkable job of interrogating her. He was trying to peel her like an onion. Gently, and layer by layer. I think he did his best, but she was not about to be broken.

If you look at how she sparred with JM on the stand you get a pretty good idea of what she's capable of, and JM was not pulling any punches with her. No Mr. Nice Guy with his cross. She is simply a nut that will NOT be cracked.

There was nothing Det. Flores could have done differently that would have been any more successful in breaking this defendant. She is a psychopath, and a very practiced liar. I have nothing but admiration and respect for his patience. I would have pulled out my wooden spoon after about 15 minutes :giggle:.

ETA: AND...look at all of the ways she tripped herself up during her testimony compared to what she said in those interrogation tapes. Det. Flores kept her talking...and talking....and talking. Enough rope to hang her own self with.

Seriously, I just read on my facebook wall that Dr. Phil is paying the Arias' expenses to stay in AZ for the trial, has visited JA in jail, is paying her mom for her notes, and a license fee for photos. :furious:
What in the actual %&$@? Really, he couldn't think of the VICTIM'S here, the Alexander family and Travis, when he's giving out free stays for the trial. So JA slaughters someone and her and her family get fawned over? That's what society is all about now? Her defense is allowed to character assassinate Travis in court over things that cannot be proven, her supporters can baffoon in the courtroom, her witnesses can disrespect the prosecutor, and all the other ridiculousness that we all see happening. And still a big name like Dr Phil would rather help her side out then the true victims? Wow, just wow.

Geez. Where is everybody? I'm feeling so all-alone here ... and bored :waiting:

C'mon peeps ... is there anyone out there to keep me company. I had a valid question about MM ... trying to get some conversation going .... but .... I'm hearing crickets. TALK TO ME!!! (luv ya)

I hear Jiminey singing "When You Wish Upon A Star."

I do not know but I think JA has something on MM.....maybe he dealt drugs, has a skeleton but to be married, know she killed him and still not come forward...I know many of you think he is going to appear but not me. NOT just b/c they posted it as CONFIRMED on FB but I do not think he would be credible. Shanna Hogan (author Picture Perfect) stated it was proven that he forged the fake pedophile letters and the DT could just say he's there to save his own skin (avoiding charges) and that he previously said he would lie for her so I think whatever they could get from points would be taken away in questioning his credibility.

I agree. Neither side can be sure of what he'd testify to!

I would love to the the backstory on that! Wouldn't be surprised if they committed some serious crime together and she's got the evidence to hold over his head....they share some MAJOR damning secrets. Imo

I don't understand your comment. Can you pls explain?
I was reading this series and of course I didn't post the whole thing. What is interesting is the experts of course want to explain the answers in detail from their point of view re: JA's story and it gets complicated because they also have to go with the story the defendant has relayed to them. I think the prosecutor needs Yes or No answers to get through his questions in a timely manner but the expert feels like she has to justify her answers. That is where the cognitive overload comes from. Her client has so many variables to her story it is impossible to explain it. I think ALV was very defensive with the prosecutor because she knows the story is convoluted thanks To JA. This expert is not being true to herself. JA has brought her down to her level of thinking. The expert needs to rise above and do what is right. Hope I explained what I was getting from this article I am not very good at explaining what I am thinking sometimes. The overload has my brain boggled :)

BINGO! As if Travis' family can afford to be there! Shows the true character of Dr. Phil AND his show!

I stopped watching him when he had baby Lisa's parents on his show. I think he's a disgrace.

copied and pasted:
FB page: The State vs Jodi Arias ~ Travis Alexander murder trial
March 30
CONFIRMED: Matt McCartney will NOT be appearing as a rebuttal witness.

Well, if the jury's paying attention, which I think they are, they should find it very strange indeed that the ONE person on planet Earth who saw her bruised neck and who she told about the abuse isn't being called by the defense.

I was hoping he'd flip and JM could use him, but his name is hanging in the air in that courtroom, whether he's there or not.

It would be an atrocity. Assuming, because Travis' family consists of siblings only, that there was never a wrongful death lawsuit filed against JA?

I've wondered about that. Maybe if they wanted to file one, they have to wait until after the criminal case?

What I thought was a waste of time on his part was trying to cajole the truth out of JA by saying things like "I need you to tell me" "I want to know" "I have to do my job" etc.

JA is a psychopath and she couldn't give a dam about what HE wants because it's all and always will be what SHE wants. So waste of time on his part.

I just think he should known that much anyway. It doesn't matter now anyway, does it. :fence:

I agree. She looked really proud of herself, with those big grins to the DT table and the gallery. I think she believes she 'won' that exchange, and I hope she comes back feeling the same level of confidence.

That whole "Snow White' exchange was just a decoy. Juan always opens up his cross by throwing a curve ball and getting aggressive over something fairly unimportant. He opened his cross with Jodi by reminding her she called her lil sister a dummy. And he opened his cross with Samuels by pasting the Websters definition of Compassion on the wall. LOL

Everyone was all upset about both of those opening topics---accusing Juan of being clueless and lost in the weeds. He was neither of those things. He purposely dragged those witnesses into the weeds so he could break them down a bit. He got them all riled up and all and upset. Then after they are tired and confused, he comes at them with the meat and potatoes. I LOVE his approach. I cannot wait until Monday morning.
Within 30 minutes he had the domestic violence and abuse expert resorting to TAUNTING him!

How about the camera in the the freekin' washing machine?

:floorlaugh:

THAT was worthy of "World's Dumbest Criminals". Especially since she is a so-called "professional" photographer.

I want to know what's up with Matt McCartney. Arias goes to see him BEFORE she kills Travis, he is the FIRST person she calls AFTER she kills Travis. there is SOMETHING UP THERE. This needs to be looked into a LOT MORE. He has either HELPED her with this crime or something. Martinez is up to something with the line of questioning he has done over and over with the comments of "McCartney is someone that won't betray you is he?" Martinez has brought this up MANY times and I just cannot for the life of me figure it all out. I am rewatching Day 22 of the Cross of Arias and he is bringing it up there again.

Maybe it's a combination of things? I'm thinking that maybe MM was supposed to send JA a DVD of images to plant on Travis' computer. MM could have chickened out, sent a funky virus looking program instead. And during the forensic examination of the DVD, the author of the DVD showed up as MM. When confronted about it, he sold JA out. Just MOO... Or maybe I'm in a fog:floorlaugh:

BBM: Do you really think so?

(disclaimer: dialogue is paraphrased)

Weird how two people can see the exact same thing and come to opposite opinions. I think she was thrown off her game plan. With his opening questions when he says "you have a Bachelors degree, correct" and immediately you see her spine stiffen. She corrects him and says "NO, I have a Masters" and Juan says "WELLLLL (love his wells) you had to get a bachelors first, right?"

FIRST he asks her what year she got her Bachelors. "1969" (historically speaking after the Summer of Love and the beginning of the ME Generation; but I digress); then he asks "What year did you get your Masters?" and she responds "1980" (The Eighties: Ronald Reagan, Madonna, Aids Awareness, Gold Chains & Designer Jeans, Top Gun, Belin Wall; but I digress).

His questions were tactical in that they highlighted the many years since she got her degrees and exposed a sore point, as in "Hello expert witness with No PhD, let's talk about...oh I don't know...let me think...oooh how about "Was Snow White an Abused Woman?"

The result was he put her on the defensive right from the start, Juan knew exactly what he was doing. IMO, ALv became rattled rather quickly. I don't think she thinks she won, I think she feels frightened about what's coming her way. She has no sympathy from me, tho.

Early in the week I posted my thoughts on how I felt Juan should approach his cross; I thought he should be very FIRM with ALv BUT not condescending. So glad he listens to unsolicited advise from sleuthers on the internet machine. LOL.

Honestly tho, I think he was taking his cues from her, if she answered his questions properly (w/o the head games) he would have taken a different tact. In any case, he got what he wanted but she is the one that decided how it was going to play out for the rest of the cross.

I'm sure it's bothering someone on the jury as well. They might be questioning the same thing...If it was broken, why not show us the x-ray?

moo

Can you imagine the discussion between Nurmi and JA?
Nurmi: "So, Jodi, do you have any visible evidence that Travis ever hurt you physically?"
JA, after thinking for a LONG time: "Oh yah, in early 2008 Travis kicked and broke my finger - coincidentally the same one I cut when I stabbed him, but remember, I don't remember stabbing him... My finger is still crooked - we can show that!!"
Nurmi: "Perfect! Let's get it x-rayed and show that too so they can't just say it's crooked from the tendon getting cut when you stabbed Travis - which you don't remember."
JA: "Ummmmm, we better not, I don't believe in 'professional' medical care. And besides, I don't want to have to lie to the doctors about how it got crooked."
Nurmi: "Right, we don't want any more lying than is absolutely necessary. No x-ray."

LOL!!!! Ha hahahahaha! :floorlaugh:

This is awesome!

Wait... I can't think of any other way they could discussed it? hahahaha!
