Mmmm..kay .... So what do you guys think the "real" truth is about Matt McCartney? Will he be called? Is he in some kind of witness protection program, under threat of being charged if he doesn't tell the "truth".

Do you think he will be called in the rebuttal case? I just think there must be some big "smoking gun" about to come out in rebuttal. So ... what say you?

Maybe they are afraid that ALV will consider them as "abusers"?

The joke's on them however ... she already considers them as "abusers" because they are men!

I can't wait to see the jury questions alyce gets. I think that will tell us a lot about how they view her.

BBM

You can say that again.

She approaches the bench at least 69times per day of testimony.

Fixed that for ya...:floorlaugh:

Those jurors who are adamant to convict her of premeditated murder are NOT going to come to an agreement with others who vote for a lesser included charge. Thankfully they are not sequestered (and hopefully not during deliberations) so no one is going to feel pressured to "get out of there" either.

MOO

I hope you are right. It's just that they might have to choose between a a Guilty Verdict and a Hung Jury. And that is a hard choice to make. JMO

If she were articulate she could express her feelings, which she did not and use words fittingly, which she did not. She is glib, which means you can use words smoothly, rather like an effective sound bite.

Thanks for edifying (or de-edifying?) that for us.

:D

I think the men may hate her the most. JMO.

Women like Jodi who falsely accuse men of sex crimes, especially against children, must rank near the top of most men's hate list. It's a despicable thing to do, not least because of the harm it does to real victims.

I have zero doubts that her diary entries were written after the murder...She even asked Flores duing the interrogation if they found them! She definitely wanted to make sure the police had them...

As much as I also anticipate more cross-examination from Juan...I would like two days off from work (tomorrow and Sunday) to relax and catch up on some missed testimony.

OK??!!

:silly:

Yes ma'am!!! :) your avatar always makes me want to behave...

I wouldn't hang the jury over DP v. LWOP. For one thing, I don't know which Jodi would prefer, since she doesn't seem to enjoy the company of women.

Yeah. That's what I've read. :). Amazing, huh, that we are at their mercy?

Psychopaths are also overrepresented in law and psychiatry. I wonder why. Hmmm.....

I have this book and I highly recommend it. It is a little disturbing. "the sociopath next door"

Well we all want him to be. At this point seeing MM take the stand would be like watching Lazarus rise from the ashes. Major "Bombshell Tonight!"

My last post for the night, I swear.... :)

When I lived with the 'man with NPD', he would always be challenging and starting arguments with me. One day I asked him, when were not arguing, if he didn't like the peace and harmony better than the stress and fighting. He said to me, "No, I like it when you are pi**ed off at me. Then I know that I have gotten to you and you will stew about it and me all day long.... Bad attention is just as good as good attention." And he smiled.
BINGO. Every now and then a sociopath tells you the God's honest truth, embedded although it may be.
JA was in heaven even when TA was irate at her. That meant she was on his mind and consuming his emotions, even if it was hatred.
Sick sick thing that she is.

Yep...npds don't care either way...good thoughts or bad thoughts--they are being thought about period.

So sorry my duct tape sister!!!!

EXACTLY. Remember when JW was holding ALV's hand and leading her through the texts and emails from Travis? There was one reply from JA, which made me shudder because it was so sociopathic.

He sent a long angry tirade...and she replied by saying [paraphrased]: " Ok, have a nice afternoon..."

And the DT TRIED to play off that cold hearted biotchy reply as something "NICE" and an example of her trying to de-escalate his anger. I CALL BS.

Saying ' have a nice day' to someone who has just sent you 16 pages of livid insults is what sociopaths do , imo. She didnt ask why he was angry or apologize for whatever she did or even fight back with the same anger. She just said ' okay, have a nice afternoon...looks like I am not the drama queen..you are..."

I found her responses chilling and cold as ice. JMO

I think he was telling her he was going to Argentina...but I'm not willing to subject myself to listening to that tape again to be sure!

In the Opening Juan says the same day the gun was stolen Jodi sent Travis an email at 9:25pm. It mentions that he is going to Cancun. It was the first mention of Cancun in any of their texts, iM etc. it was clear she knew he was going and going w/o her..

Do you know if HLN is going to replay the opening statements (or if they are uploaded anywhere?) I really want to see JM's and our cable was out until after 4:00. :(

CDs don't shatter easily. We have used them as frisbees for hours. If you bend one it will shatter but it takes a lot of force and you are risking injury because when they break..shrapnel flies everywhere.

Psychopaths have a habit of dropping twisted hints as a way to demonstrate to themselves how superior they are to the rest of us dummies.

After watching ALV testify I now know who coached JA in her testifying demeanor because she is using the same psychological ploys as JA did, evasive, pretense of not understanding, disrespect for the court, minutia for details and smirking at the jury.

:banghead:

I totally agree.

ALV even offers a seminar on how to be an expert witness: "Expert Witness Fundamentals: Do You Really Want to Swim With the Sharks?"

It was clear to me that all of ALV's sassing, posing, and mocking while under cross-examination were the very techniques she no doubt teaches in her Expert Witness Fundamentals seminar. Pfffffffffft.

I have to admit - I would love to hear his fairy-tale involving the killer.

He would become the star of the show - sorry Arias... sorry Alyce!

I think BOTH sides are afraid of him. He is too unpredictable. I think he escaped the false letter disaster by inches. And I am sure the state reminded him that they could reopen the mess and involve him in it if he tried to come on the stand and lie for her about seeing bruises etc. Just a hunch.

But wasn't her name (prior to MiMi) on the ticket to go with Travis, per PPL's attorneys?

What happened, did he just change his mind. Juan needs to bring this up!!
