Usually when I disagree with a post I just keep on moving, however, in this case I felt I disagreed not only in my mind, but in my heart re: the bolded part of your post. I wonder HOW you KNOW she doesn't belong in that court room? TIA

I don't know but it's my gut reaction in retrospect that if she believes all the things she stated in her first statement released by ABC, then she can follow the trial and see it through the same way we all are. She doesn't need to cost the AZ taxpayer extra money in security concerns or risk a mistrial to prove a point by attending daily.
She stated she didn't know there would be such media madness. Now she does. Lets see if she shows up Monday.
I've flipped flopped on this issue FYI. She has the right to be there but her words suggest she wants what's best. I don't believe now her being there is what's best.

Do we have any proof that her Mom definitely helped her rent that car? I transcribed the parent interviews and the only time her mom comes across as sounding less certain and using more um ums and stalling is when she is talking about not knowing about JA's plans for the next day. Unfortunately I don't believe she told Det Fl everything she knew about that.

In her dad's interview with Flores he says: (not word for word)
'...this morning when I picked her up at the house to go to Hertz I said OK this is your last chance, tell me what's going on, I want to know. She said I can't tell you. She said she was going to be back in 3 days. She quit her job yesterday'

So she rents the car the morning after her first interview the previous day, puts the knives and 9mm in it, never leaves, and is arrested the same day (the day of her dad's interview)

In her dad's interview, he said JA even told him the route she was taking on her trip. She told him she was going to Big Sur/Monterey area to visit some friends, then down to LA for a convention, then to Utah.

i heard wilmott say whenever jodie brought up her interests, TA would belittle her. I say name on instance. Seriously, when did that happen?

Seriously, why are they even talking about that in court?? So what if he did belittle her interests? What does that have to do with her being charged with his murder?

You can't get out of murder by saying "he was mean to me".

The entire defense case has been about dissecting minutia under an electron microscope, trying to find scintillas of things to piece together to make a scenario. Thus, we have, or should I say the jury has, been subjected to extended analysis of thousands of "atoms" or tiny particles, which the defense is desperately attempting to place into a pattern which looks like "self defense."

To which I say, come on! If it's that difficult to see, it just doesn't exist.

And her bloody palm print, and her non-blond hair, and her DNA.

Great point! When she was hanging out at his house 'all the time' she had bleached hair, but at the crime scene she had dyed brown hair.

Thanks! I've not seen that interview yet. Do you have a link?

Here is a link to a story of a man who was stalked just like Travis .
This is a good read for anyone as it shows just how nuts a women can be and things she did to this man while in a realationship with him for several months.
I think if you read this you will see that this is Jodi in a nutshell.
This man compares what happend to Travis and to his own stalker.

If they start Rebuttal next week then there is a chance that we could have the jury deliberating by the 25th.

I wish I could be that optimistic. I think JM's cross will be two days; JM's redirect at least two, and maybe three; then the jury questions; I suspect we're closer to three weeks from Rebuttal, what with other motions for mistrial and various delays thrown in. But I hope I'm wrong!

She gives that talk to professionals in the field, not to lay people. And, she has a message to them--do not get frustrated when what you are doing with your client takes ten times longer than you expected because she is conditioned by society to perform within the parameters of a certain gender role from childhood and now you are asking her to change quickly. It can't be done quickly.

And, the same is true for men. She works directly with men, helping them to get in touch with feelings that are too difficult for them to handle easily, in an effort to increase their empathy for their partner, and to help them not turn every feeling of fear and powerlessness into anger. Because men are also taught by society--do not be weak, and these emotions are signs of weakness.

It's a way of putting the group in the shoes of the batterer and the battered, and showing the group what it looks like through their eyes.

DV is still dangerous to women 85 percent of the time.

IMO

Well she might want to revise her approach because I am a professional working in the field.

I'm curious as to why you think she left it on purpose.

my guess, Narcissistic Jodi thought if the camera was missing that of course, everyone would immediately look to her, the cough professional cough photographer. Who else would steal a camera from a crime scene but the professional? (junkies or meth heads or regular thief/murderers never steal from a crime scene, do they?)

And too funny that everyone was looking at her well before they even knew anything about a camera. And ironic if she HAD stolen the camera she wouldn't have been caught. But her ego, her vision of herself as the one everyone associates "camera" with, got her.

("Professional photographer" my behind. She was a self-absorbed narcissist who took hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures of herself. Because the world was all about her.)

I think that the letter written to the judge about juror #5 was Plan A from a Jodi supporter to get juror #5 kicked off the jury. Whoever wrote the letter (and I wonder if they had the support of the defense team, or Jodi herself to do it) tried to make it seem like the letter was being written from an anti Jodi person. I don't believe it was. Plan A didn't work so it was on to Plan B, which did work for the defense. I don't know what juror #5 said to get kicked off, but Plan A sure makes me believe she was targetted and was removed over something trivial so that later the defense could not use it as an appeal.
I also believe that while it did make Jodi happy to have the juror kicked off it is not what made her so giddy that day. I believe that during the in chambers meeting alot of hurt was shown by the juror and Travis' sisters. I think she took alot of pleasure in thier pain. Inflicting pain on others is a joy to Jodi. She is pure evil. IMO

BBM A thank you was insufficient,Wasn't Me. Great post.

I too have always believed that the reason we hear Travis saying the things he does is that he has been given a framework within which to operate. That is, Jodi made it clear to him what sort of things to say to "turn her on," and he is parroting them. You can tell by the robotic quality of his voice as he constructs "his" fantasies with her. I never believed that nonsense about her simply "going along with him." You're quite right that it had to be the other way around.

Now, I'm not saying the guy was an angel. You never know what people will or won't say when engaging in sexy talk. But there's no way you're going to convince me that this particular guy would have opened up a can of filthy sex talk with some woman unless he knew she wanted to hear what he was saying. The sex tape always stunk to high heaven to me. He did not know she was recording him. She set him up deliberately, and that included all sorts of coaching -- "Ooh, I like it when you talk about tying me up and forcing me," that kind of thing. I'm convinced.
:cow:

Full disclosure- I didn't listen to all the tape, muted it fairly soon just as I didn't look at all the neked pictures. (I'll take ya'lls word for it)

IIRC at the start he indicated he want's to talk "normal" first. My guess is that she requested the sex talk, and he was trying to appease her. And when I hear that jodie always wanted to quell his anger, I think it was the other way around.

Well she might want to revise her approach because I am a professional working in the field.

And, what? You disagree with her? How?

You think it's easy to get a woman out of a DV relationship?

You think it can be done quickly and easily by the right professional, someone like you?

You think that men are not the batterers in the majority of DV relationships? How many men are killed each year by their female domestic partner versus women?

What ratio of abused men to abused women do you see in your practice? How does that compare to the norm?

I wonder what she planned to do with the gun and knives in the rental car when she was going to take off the day she was arrested? She rented the car that morning. She hinted to her parents she was going to Monterey for 3 days. Was she planning to kill MM, DB or herself? Was she envisioning a suicide by cop scenario? Or a shoot out and get away from the cops scene?

It is disturbing that she would plan to flee and take knives and a gun with her, especially if she was planning to head to Monterey. What were her plans!!?

I asked because you said you found her engaging and I did find her manner offensive and insulting. I don't relate to any character in Snow White, pretending I'm 4 or not so it's likely I would have walked out of that seminar and asked for a refund while I still could.

The end of Intimate Partner Abuse is something both genders need to work on together. There wasn't a single male laugh in the 20 or so minutes of tape I watched and listened to. DV isn't a womans issue, it's an issue affecting both genders. We aren't in 1970 anymore and this seminar was 3 years ago. :twocents:

Thanks for that response. On the stand ALV has been condescending, short-sighted, unfair, uninformed, and with JM snarky and stupid. In the short video clips Steely Dan posted this a.m., she seemed in contrast much more likable to me. Disney's Snow White came out in 1937, and Snow White was passive. By 1950 Disney's Cinderella's was at least grumbling to her bird/mice friends of the unfairness of her situation. The Little Mermaid in 1989 was asserting herself like crazy, defying her kind father, but she sacrificed everything for her love of a man she'd never met. Beauty in 1991 was very independent and assertive to dad and Beast. Ditto Jasmin to dad and Aladdin in 1992, but even they were topped by 2010's Tangled's Repunzel. ALV's abuse schtick is mired far in the past when she was young and things were very different.
