As a fellow mechanic of the HVAC variety, I think we should have a "tradesman day" just like we have a "secretaries day"..... Just don't bring us flowers...maybe a beer!:rocker:

OT, sorry mods....
I've thought about getting gift cards or gift certificates and keeping them in my car. If I pass a worker doing a trade, lineman, etc. I want to just pull up and hand it to them and say 'thanks!'. There are tons of those positions I could NEVER handle.

I've always had great respect for skilled tradesmen, but especially so in this economy. Marriage minded young women would be wise to leave the bar scene with its "players" and hang out at Home Depot.

Around here, Home Depot and Lowe's have Construction Entrances... I'm just sayin'..... :floorlaugh:

After seeing what I have seen at a children's mental health ER I am wayyyyy less judgemental than I used to be. I have seen parents that make Cindy Anthony seem like a saint....I have seen A LOT of bad parenting. And I have seen broken hearted parents unable to figure out how to deal with their children in spite of parenting the best they knew how. Sometimes it was dysfnctional but it was the best they could offer. Sometimes they felt that taking their child home and coping as best they could until they were 18 was all they could do. I am seeing many shades of different families from over the time I have worked here....there is so much family dynamic we don't know and just a few tapes and courtroom viewings are nother enough to get a full picture.

Thanks for what you're doing, Fragile. It really matters. :seeya:

IIRC, Sandy Arias rented the car. This is why I am a little conflicted about her. I do feel badly for her but by the same token, if she rented the car under that scenario, she is complicit. You help your child get an attorney, not escape. IMO

Ok, good point. When she rented the car for Jodi, did she already know Travis was dead (did Sandy know?)

Could be. Most of these come in clusters of various kinds and it's unusual to find people with only one of the personality disorders. At any rate, the DT went to great pains to ensure that none of their experts addressed personality disorders in their assessments. In my view, this was because they knew she was positively glowing with markers and any honest assessment would result in an admission that the client was essentially whackadoodle. (It's a real psych term, I looked it up.) ;)

BBM. It's going to be in the new DSM, right? I think I read about it in Psychology Today.

I am sure Juan knows everything there is to know. He is a pro at this.

Not doubting Juan's professionalism. But it is my understanding that this video was provided exclusively to Nancy Grace by the bride. Nancy didn't even comment on the "finger" issue. One of our WSers noticed the finger.

The defendant

She evaluated her

How does that happen? I can't imagine Jodi willingly answering a prosecution expert's questions, especially truthfully.

Ooooh.....what a good idea! Time to tell my kids that we are going to take a field trip to Home Depot and find all the tools that Manny from Handy Manny has in his toolbox. :D

Nhic wrote: "I don't think Travis agreed to pose for anything, as JA claims. She probably had him at gun or knife point. "

To me, it looks like Travis even has tears in his eyes at one point. These look like they're not fun for him, to say the least. I hope JM makes something of that, but it may be too subjective.

I think it is quite clear that the pics were nonconsensual. Having said that, it is, as you mention, subjective.

I think she was holding him at gunpoint. If it was only a knife, he could have fought back more successfully or closed the shower door with her on the outside.

IMO, she had the knife with her, but held him at gunpoint while she took the pics. She set the camera down (or dropped it) when she grabbed the knife to make the attack a personal one.

Are you kidding me that is so true.. There is nothing more attractive to me than a man who can fix something. Plaster it up. Nail it down, whatever. love it!

Do you live in a cave and/or been raised by wolves? :gasp:

:rocker:

I lived near Annandale, Virginia, and it took me forever to realize it wasn't the same Annandale. :blushing: It is a great song.

LOLL As in pack mule, with bags to carry things from one place to another!

In some cases the drug king pins make the "mules" swallow the drugs. On the other end i guess they pass the drugs, or quite possibly they kill the person in some cases and cut out the drugs. Other mules just drive drugs around hidden in the car. A good point by Zuri... as Jodi taped her 9mm to the inside of the hood of the car. She then shows she hides things in cars, no normal person would even know how to open the hood let alone how to attach a gun in there.

Must be JA.

I told you she was full of ....

Please refresh my memory.... Is there any record or proof (phone calls, texts etc) that Travis knew JA was coming to his place on June 4th?

nope. no proof.

This keeps nagging at me....

In the video that's been shown of Travis retelling the event where he was held at gunpoint, and JA is supposedly asleep with her head in his lap, he talked about how he tried to convey emotion with his 'retinas'....
Every time I see that full on face shot of him in the shower, right before she killed him, I remember those words. There is a message in his eyes. No doubt in my mind.

Ever since that video came out, I've been torn to my soul over how emotionally wounded he must have felt knowing that she knew that story, and had a gun on him.

I think you're right, the expression on his face and in his eyes at that point was completely different than the other photos. I honestly think he was saying goodbye. The look on his face in the other photos says, to me anyway, that he was angry and trying to think of ways to turn this around, but the last one is simply resolution and goodbye.

There was several back and forth quick phone calls between them.

Up until Jodi reached the AZ border from CA. I believe Travis knew she was coming.

No way....no how...no proof.
she droned on and on about how she "watched him" from the doorway to his study...Napolian didn't "even notice she was there" ...bullsit.

Moo.

BBM....that is such a pet peeve for me. I have a neighbor that talks in 3rd person and it just drives me crazy.

I think I'm going to start doing it! It's hysterical! Lol

I'm beginning to think maybe Jodi gave the appearance of leaving and snuck back in which may explain the look of shock on Travis' face. I also don't believe that the two of them went to sleep bc at that point I believe he was becoming scared about what she might do to him.

I'm leaning that way myself. I don't believe the "sleeping" stuff either -- notice how she's always "waking up" on top of some guy, or going to sleep somewhere with some guy (like Ryan, but no sex). It's odd, and not likely true. I think she did surprise him in the shower.

I think they are scared of her, especially her mom. I also hate some of Ms. Arias's behavior too but I even think that a lot of that is out of fear.

People try to please bullies when they aren't very strong and that's how I see her parents. I just don't think Jodi's mom is very strong...I think she caves right and left just to keep Jodi's rage at bay. My heart breaks for both parents. I think they've been beaten down.

I saw an interview with the Virginia Tech shooter's mother and siblings. They were all terrified of him.

I think Jodie's mom is afraid of Jodie, I don't think she would want her living under the same roof. I also think they have had to walk on pins and needles with her. I just wonder how Jodie acted around her grandparents! We're they afraid of her and just let her come and go as she pleased. It's seems like that as so.

Thats what I want to know! Was ALV shown ALL these video's ALL the interrogation Videos and the mom and dads video? What did they show her. That would be important to me in completing my thought on why she is saying this.

If she truly never followed the case and only sees what the Defense showed her, they may have heavily filtered it so she could testify truthfully after showing the previous 11 everything and they ran out of the Jail.

... criminals are able to play social workers like violins. It is amazing to watch it.

One of the 1st trials I watched on the old CTV....

The first "message board" that I belonged to was the Court TV website.
