I will speak from experience. I have two children, one is a very succesful general manager at a well known company, the other is a convicted criminal who has been incarcerated for many years. Many people have criticized my parenting skills over the years and for a long time I took it really badly and felt tremendous guilt. Now I understand that I did what I had to do to help and unfortunately he continued to make bad choices. I work with families of inmates and I see the guilt and sadness from many parents who also did what they thought were the right things. Its a tough road to travel.

On the other hand, I have seen many parents who are of the belief that their little darlings could do no wrong

Well, if it's all your fault your child turned out the way he did, then they don't have to worry about their kids, because they're perfect parents. That's my take on that type of thinking, anyway.

BBM: Really?? You are not serious... I have 3 kids they are all raised the same and yet have night and day personalities. I know a good family.. All three boys raised the same way, Loving and kind.. 2 are married productive, One is not, An addict, a goof off, Lots of bad decisions..

You can not blame parents 100% in most all cases.. Look at Travis.. He had nothing.. his parents were awful.. and yet he made something of himself.

That is harsh.. This girl is a master manipulator.. tHe bad seed sort..

No one did this to her. She developed her personality to suit what she needed... or wanted.

Blaming her parents is almost too easy in a sense - surely, there has to be a reason for 'evil' to exist. It's a lot scarier, in my opinion, for it to just be - then, it could be lurking in any corner without any predictors at all. And then that kind of chaotic darkness could possibly touch anyone of us.

My ex was horrifically abused as a child. He endured things I can't imagine anyone ever doing to a little boy - much less their own child. He grew up to become a disordered abuser. His mom reminds me a whole lot of Sandy Arias. I most certainly blame her for the abuse he suffered that she neglected - but I don't, and can't, blame her entirely for what he became. Was his treatment what caused him to hurt other people? Maybe. Maybe not. But...he chose to abuse others. He knew what was right and wrong and logically chose wrong because of what doing so gave him.

The flip side is that very often by teen years disordered personalities are causing their family dynamic to become the literal definition of insanity. My ex was in a boy's home by the time he was 15 after several violent outbursts, animal abuse, arson, etc. He received intensive psychiatric care while being 'fostered'. This would have been late-70s so psych definitions and treatment have undoubtedly come a long way - but his therapy only taught him how to appear more sentient and equip him with more covert forms of abuse. I wouldn't wish a teen disordered on my very worst enemy - the prognosis is grim (depending on the dx); the therapy is intense and exhausting (and if a disordered personality is adamant to not participate in treatment - as is often the case - almost doomed to failure); their explosions are often violent and terrifying - which is something parents have to consider, especially if younger children are also in the home; treatment can be very expensive; social stigmas; and the latest 'norm' is for psychs to refuse treatment of personality disorder altogether, unless the patient is considered an immediate threat to themselves or others. It is the most unbelievable nightmare for parents to have to live - and they do it, daily, for a couple of decades. The end result is exhaustion, devastation, and I believe for some even a huge relief once they're no longer under the same roof. (Personality disorder often can go decades without ever being diagnosed so many parents may not even realize 'why' their kid was so tough, hope they'll straighten out as they mature, and not realize the gravity of their children's tantrums and outbursts until they are sitting in a courtroom themselves.)

What kind of laptop do you have? Sometimes you need to press Fn button together with whatever button F5 is on but we need to find your function keys first!

Sorry for keeping it OT, my laptop is a Toshiba. The top row of keys are smaller than the others and have little icons, symbols on them. The first is a question mark...I have never taken the time to check em out.

I don't believe that. I think she learned early on that sex is a weapon with men. That since her parents were not going to put up with her shenanigans she needed someone that she could draw into her corner. Being a pretty young girl is a powerful thing. Most girls know how to handle it.. Some realize early on that it has power and use it for ill gain...

I am in total agreement. Knowing someone who is so much like JA, although she hasn't slaughtered anyone yet. She learned very early that sex was a powerful manipulator..and she was never ever sexually abused.

Since the DT brought that stupid eyeball pic in that you can not tell anything IMHO, JM should show that pic of the fingernails...as IT WOULD LOOK BAD THAT THE JURY DOES NOT BELIEVE IT IS TA FINGERNAIL....PLUS the fact that the DT is submitting a bogus picture.....since THEY ARE ALSO BELIEVING JA word that SHE is not lying to them. As NG says....to me that would be a BOMBSHELL. Jury sees it does not look like TA fingernails, the DT this as evidence...and on top of this, it MIGHT show that JA has now lied to her own team about that Photo. So they would look really stupid on that.

I hadn't seen the comparison pictures between the penis pic & DB & TA until last week. I'm shocked that anyone believes those are TA's hands. It makes me wonder big time what it is that DB is hiding (other than his penis) by lying for JA.

I think you're missing my point. First of all, I will assume you never killed anyone, right?
What I was saying, while Jodi was playing this ' school girl role' during her sex escapades with Travis, it was HER, not Travis, who enjoyed playing the part of a child.

I believe she took that, convoluted and contorted it to pin on Travis after his murder. She wanted to resurrect him again just to kill his reputation.

People generally lie within a comfort zone. So I don't believe Jodi erroneously made this 'child' story up out of thin air. SOMETHING had to have triggered that lie.

So again, I think it was HER who liked playing the role of a 12-year school girl then after killing Travis, took that familiar scenario and flipped the script and added the lie.

This isn't about JUST pig-tails, lollipops or bikini wax. It's collective and consistent with this pedophile lie she made up.

I just watched the video when DB was on the stand and his fingers and fingernails are very distinctive. In the picture someone posted on here regarding the penis photo, they showed Travis and DB's hands and it looks like DB's hand in the penis photo.

Now I am curious; does anyone have copies of these pictures we can compare?

It is amazing how after all the years of our friendship, I remain convinced that we are truly sisters from another mother, I lay in bed last night reviewing the same part of the case and sharing much your same thoughts. I truly believe that the DP was conceived and implemented for the Jodi's of this world. I also share that sick feeling that she will not receive it. I will be so extremely happy if I am wrong.

Hugs to you dear friend. Like you, I will be elated to be wrong. But after experiencing the CA miscarriage of justice.....I now only hope for justice and am surprised when it happens.

In watching ALV again on the Nancy Grace show, I had a different take on her "apology" issue. Actually at first I gave her a pass on that as I thought "well that makes sense if you are wanting to come in and establish a trusting rapport so someone will open up to you".

Until today when I heard it totally differently (took me a while to catch up, please don't throw cans of V8 at me).

An objective evaluator wouldn't be interested in the rapport or comfort level of the person evaluated. In fact assessing levels of comfort/discomfort with the process would be something to look at! Another way that ALV approached this more as a therapist, than objective evaluator.

I know, I'm back at square one but this just hit me in a new way this morning.

Just as JW was trying to diminish JDM for only spending 12 1/2 hours with JA when she didn't have answers to all of JW's questions.

The purpose of the forensic psychologist is to evaluate the subject and determine the presence or absence of any psychology relevant to the case. As Dr. Samuels testified, this normally takes 6 to 8 hours of clinical interview. JDM went above this, as did Samuels (close to 30 hours) and ALV took the prize with over 40 hours.

It was not their job to go over every facet of the case, as JW would like some to have believed.

My theory is because the absence of a brand new camera would have pointed straight to the 'crazy photographer stalker ex-girlfriend'. Who was a self purported photographer.

I understand that.. But if you look under anywhere else that it is in chambers or private it says hearing and there is a request before it.. It just says trial on monday..

I just want to jump really quick on a conversation that people have been discussing off and on: the idea of Jodi finding a relationship while in jail. Usually I am neither here nor there about the death penalty, but there is something about the idea of her finding someone that makes me cringe. The idea that she could find love, have sex again, basically enjoy one of the most wonderful things about life. That she could still experience that. It pisses me off, because she robbed TA of it, and I feel likewise she does not deserve to make love or love someone again.

There are some sick ****s out there. A lot of those sickos don't end up in jail. Instead, they end up pursuing relationships with the worst kind.

Richard Ramirez... had a huge fanbase. He ended up marrying one of his fans.

Ted Bundy had sex with the dead bodies of his victims, and yet someone loved him enough to marry him while he was serving time.

Susan Smith... she has had sexual relationships with not one but TWO guards.

And that is just to name a few. If Jodi is given LWOP she will, as others have said, adapt to it, and start a new life. She may even get married. She can continue her art. People will be interested. They will be fascinated. She doesn't deserve any of that. She does not deserve to love, to have relationships, to write, paint, laugh, love, live, etc. Really, I feel quite emotional about the subject. But there is something about her smug attitude that especially rubs me the wrong way. If she is given LWOP it will almost be like (to me) she got away with her crime.

I agree, but with that badass attitude of hers, she better "pray for the DP." She would get herself shanked or get a serious beatdown. She has anger problems in County and has already been in one altercation. Prison would not afford her protection from those who are even badder.
