I have been hearing about a lot of murderers who have done awful things and gotten life in prison. I would like some insight as to whether people think Jodi will actually get the death penalty? I have an awful feeling that the jury will have in their minds that this was her only killing and she doesn't seem likie the "professional" type-killer, and so give her life in prison instead of death? What are your thoughts on this?

I did a lot of researching/googling today because I have missed so much of this trial. The "Comments" I came across in this HuffPost article, may help answer from other sources

Jodi has been diagnosed with "cluster b" personality disorder -a combination of narcissism, anti-social disorder, sociopathy & pathology. This comes from literally hundreds of licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists & DV therapists around the world. Some have expressed anger themselves at Ms. LaV's unprofessional manner. She has repeatedly lied as well as mocked & disrespected the court by being combative and unresponsive to the DA. Do you really think its appropriate for a witness for the defense to attempt to speak to the victims family during a break? Or sit at the defense table during a break after the defendant has been brought in, smile at her and say a few words? LaV has testified in 18 other cases and she knows the rules.

If you think that all the doctors & licensed therapists who have spoken out against LaV are wrong then there is something wrong with your thought process.

They do need to really start recognizing that men can also be victims as well and not just women. They also need to stop coddling the women offenders and start charging them accordingly (the same as they would with a male offender). Because they're just as equally capable of committing crimes and it's on the increase. These women out there are pretty aggressive and are not simply "weak" little things. There should not be any exceptions whatsoever. They commit the crime, therefore, they deserve to do the time.

This is why men and women need to be careful in dating though. There are red flags to look for in the person you are seeing. And sex can be Dangerous in more than ways than one. For some people that sex can become an addictive bond like a drug. I think sex without monogamy is dangerous for both men and women. Friends with benefits almost always leads to bad things, or at least some sort of drama and heartache on at least one side. It's not healthy for us. I just hope that people who read this story will stop and think about that and start to be more careful for their own protection. Domestic violence is real and exists (even if it didn't in this case, obviously, since Jodi is a Liar). But if nothing else it is kind of good this case brought that stuff to light so more people can understand it. With all that being said though, of course....Justice for Travis is called for and will undoubtedly be served.

cut to the chase...in the Arias trial, were the sexes reversed, and a man caught in numerous lies, the trial would take 2 weeks tops. and we wouldn't know his name because it would be given no press. The only reason the abuse expert is involved is $300 an hour, and taxpayers are paying that. I strongly believe in due process, but this is far from due process. As Judge Judy once said, ''you just lied, therefore Im not inclined to believe anything else you say, including ''the sky is blue.''

Bravo ! Excellent article. It is sad to say but with this trial of Jodi Arias lets hope that now men being victims of abuse and stalking will now come to the forefront as the "Burning Bed" brought it to the forefront for women.

Good point, Angela! Anyone can fall victim to an evil-doer. Evil-doers can be found in both genders. We need to start focusing on ending domestic violence period.

It is precisely cases like this one that ensure it will continue to be even more shameful and difficult than it already is, if that is possible, for a man to report murderous abuse and obsessional stalking behavior on the part of his significant other, female friend with benefits or female stranger and be taken seriously by law enforcement, never mind seek the appropriate psychiatric/psychological treatment/therapy after the event in the vain hope of some semblance of recovery should they survive.

And when such women have been more than fairly tried and found guilty by a court of their peers, those peers are behoven to punish appropriately in order to send out a very clear message to future defendants, (and by extension their support in the form of so called 'expert' witnesses), tempted to treat the law so disgracefully that, irrelevant of gender, such abuse is taken completely seriously and will just not be excused or tolerated.

In this case where the death penalty is on the statute no quarter of sympathy should be afforded to Arias if she is found guilty of premeditated murder simply because she is female for I am as fully convinced as many of you are that were she male and found guilty a death sentence would be a foregone conclusion.

QOTW: I am a woman and I stood up and cheered when I read your spot-on post. I have a son who was stalked and victimized by an ex-girlfriend --so I know it happens. We were quite fortunate that he finally got free of that crazy obsessive woman with his life and limbs intact. She was volatile; she was a perpetual injustice hoarder; she was a chronic, self-perceived victim; and she was raging crazy. Everybody knew it (but us): her parents, her friends, her co-workers, everyone... but no one had the courage to stand up to her. She kept my son in this devastating relationship by constantly threatening suicide should he ever leave her. When she started threatening to kill them both, he left. Of course, she in turn, tried to destroy his reputation in revenge. His attempts to get help from her vicious, stalking ways fell on deaf ears. It was automatically assumed that he must be the bad one. You know...the big bad wolf theory. And he was flat out laughed at by law enforcement -- "You mean you can't handle a woman?" By the time he finally told us about what this girl was doing, he was a total wreck. He thought he could handle it himself. Travis Alexander probably thought he could, too.

Wow! Justice what you describe is exactly what Jodi did and said except of course she took it farther. Your son is lucky he got away but I'm curious how he did it. How did he make her stop especially since LE wouldn't help.

I'm sure you're right about Travis thinking he could handle it. I also think he didn't believe she was capable of being such a monster until it was too late. And I think he was addicted to her in that he got sucked into her web because of the sex. Jodi has a history of using sex to lure men in. Travis did not have many girlfriends before her and none who were so aggressively into sex. I think Jodi taught Travis everything, I also think she told him the things she wanted to hear - so when they were doing their phone thing he just automatically talked the way she wanted him to. Everything that had to do with the sex was Jodi's idea and her implementation. not Travis's

Thx, but I disagree. JA is many things, but she isn't stupid. KC was stupid. KC didn't realize all the forensic evidence they could get off her phone, computer etc., but we all saw it didn't we? I think JA was well aware of computer forensics (anyone who watches CSI or any other crime drama on TV does). I believe that's why they found her external hard drive "broken". I guess KC was too busy watching One Tree Hill :floorlaugh:.

I don't underestimate her at all. She's no Einstein that's for sure :lol:, but she's not stupid either.

The docket is newly showing trial listed under Case Documents but not under Calendar. A juror had requested tomorrow off. Someone said earlier there's no request for hearing tomorrow but I don't know if that has to appear in heard for Counsel to meet perhaps re outstanding motions??

I don't remember but JVM had a follow up show a few nights later but I can't watch her anymore.

I think it's then she realized she effed up. She thought the wash cycle with bleach would kill the camera along with its deleted photos.

She may have thought once the photos were deleted, they'd be unrecoverable.

Ain't that the truth! My prison shifts were coincidentally 12 hr shifts. I miss working only 3 days a week!

I also have a cousin who generously offered this information about herself. Unprompted.

Jodi was ignorant of certain things related to technology. She wasn't stupid, just IGNORANT.

According to the Post, Brewer testified that he believed Arias has snapped nude photos of him without his knowledge as he showered and while he slept.

Well I do know that she expired...long ago. She wasn't a spring chicken when she was my teacher. On the same subject, in 5th or 6th grade, our history teacher made us watch a documentary of Auswitch and what went on there. Very very graphic. "Reflecting back".....I'm horrified that it was allowed to show us young kids that kind of thing. In Driver's Ed that made us watch "Mechanized Death" and "Death on the Highway"....graphic too but nowhere near the Auswitch documentary.
