I'm caught between it's not caylee and it was planted. I in no way believe that this is Caylee and I am pretty much sure that it was planted. Either by Padilla to raise his status in the case or by TES to disgrace Padilla.

Not to worry about the shamrock. It wasn't a charm, it wasn't a shamrock.

The fact that police knew in advance that Caylee was not there, told Leonard that and were so quick to rule out the finds as credible evidence tells me that LE knows something about where Caylee is.....and it isn't in the river.

Casey Anthony doesn't have a whole lot of admirers, and if LE thought there was another piece of evidence to add to their pile, they'd have gratefully accepted it. They WANT this woman convicted. If they say it's not credible, I believe them.

I know what I saw the diver holding up for the cameras was NOT a bag of toys that would have been appropriate in any way for a 2 1/2 year old child.

agreed...i believe there is a reason they ruled it out so fast! LE knows either where she is..or why they will never retrieve her..

I trust LE on this one. They worked diligently to find the facts and ultimately to build a case against Casey Anthony.Thankfully, there was enough evidence for the GJ to indict--even without Caylee's body. Casey will see her day in court. More important, Caylee will finally get the justice she deserves. Sadly, this doesn't happen in every case.

I believe that LE wants justice for Caylee more than any of us can even imagine. They've dealt with Casey Anthony face to face--through hour after hour of her lies. So if this find is true evidence, there's no way (IMO) they'll discount it.

Perhaps the condition of the items, for instance the sediment built up around the Gumby toy, showed that the items had been in the river too long ago to have any connection to the case.

It's ridiculous to think that every bag of garbage found anywhere in Florida is related to this case.

Hi everyone, first post, although been reading here since the start of the case.

This incident really bothers me for many reasons. LP has, for me, been all over the map regarding what he knows/what he doesn't know. At first, I was thinking he was doing the good cop(although he was a bounty hunter)/bad cop role: trying to ingratiate himself to the Anthony family.

Now, I am concerned he is a liability for several reasons. One, a bounty hunter is normally pretty darn serious, with one thing in mind: get you man. This case generated so much publicity, once his role in the bail was over, I do believe he developed a taste for the media and suddenly he backtracked; before, all we heard was he heard/learned nothing while he was around CA or the family. Now, he started talking about things

Two, I do believe that searches have to be conducted with LE's cooperation and guidelines. People just can't go out with a team and do such a search totally on their own. Chain of evidence could make or break this case when/if Caylee is found.

Three, for all the "fighting" with the Anthonys and Tim with TE, this does not sit well for me. I have to wonder, why is he really doing this? I'm afraid I'm not comfotable with believing he just wants to find Caylee. What could be another reason?

I think, for me, I have to consider that he might be trying to sidetrack the searches, trying to redirect LE's attention from areas they are concentrating on.

I know, for a first time poster, this is a little long, and believe me, I've gone back and forth as to LP: first, I just thought he was a funny character. Then, he kinda convinced me that he was trying to help LE/Tim as it appeared one of his people had learned something while in the house (that female BH). Then, I thought he was out for publicity, which still might be the case, but now, I question his motives for this latest "search" and falling out with Tim( and possibly LE).

I wish Caylee was off, in PR, safe and sound, but after seeing the dynamics of that family, I am 98% certain she is dead, by the hands of her mother..done to some degree to get back at her mother in an subconscious manner.

Welcome, Mollie. I disagree with you but it's nice to have you join.

I agree that LP started off with one agenda & then changed his mind about Casey's innocence & I also agree he's had a bunch a theories that we can't verify.

As far as him or anyone 'interfering' with LE..... I disagree.

What would be the difference if some hiker or boater found Caylee's completely by accident....

he'd call 911 & alert authorities that he found something. Same as LP would do or what they did during the TES searches.

If LE chose NOT to be on standby for a PRE-ANNOUNCED search, they have nobody but themselves to blame for not being there to prevent the media from doing their job.

I don't care WHO looks for Caylee.... only that people ARE looking for her & not just waiting for someone else to do something.

Thanks for the welcome LI Mom. And I do understand your position. Just today, in my city, a mom and her kids were hiking and crossing a bridge when she realized there was a body in the water. She got her kids off the bridge, called 911.

I guess the difference for me is that Caylee most likely won't be found so obviously, and the people searching will need to be trained on how to not only recognize evidence at this stage, but how to carefully back out and remove themselves in or to contact the police.

I'm not at all sure of LP's intentions, whether it's publicity, misdirect the investigation or something else, my radar is pinging.

But, I do agree to disagree :)

Ick! I feel sorry for that poor mom.

I totally understand your point & it's certainly valid.

One other consideration though.... considering the terrible flooding that Fla experienced, it's pretty unlikely that any crime scene is preserved.

It's possible a lot of evidence has already moved quite a distance.

Not only that, you have to consider that gators or other wildlife might have moved any evidence.

I'd err on the side of finding this baby asap so we can introduce the evidence at her mother's trial & it is part of the official records.

What a senseless tragedy. :(

Can anyone imagine with 1000 + people searching with TES how many things were found? Garbage, toys, clothes, bones, weird things??? Why is it that whatever LP pulls up/finds is scrutinized to this degree as either being relevant to the case or a plant? This makes no sense to me! We've seen clothes, underwear, tank tops, bones, gas cans, empty bleach bottles, etc...And very limited discussion as a result. So this, an interesting find but one that has already been deemed "insignificant" has to keep going on and on and on???

First, Welcome Mollie! I'm glad you've decided to join the discussion. I enjoyed reading your thoughts and agree with many of them. Looking forward to hearing more from you!

That is a VERY good question. Why is one bag found by Leonard getting more airtime and internet discussion than all of the items found by TEQ and their volunteers?

You think it has something to do with Leonard himself? I do.

How about CA saying a 'bag of whatever'........so cold and could care less

If Caylee's body was put into that water with all the gators and the fact that the body was in a state of decomposition nothing would be left. Gators would not waste any time finding the source of that smell. I live about 30 mins south of Orlando and we just had a situation where a body had to be rescued from gators. If the fishermen had not seen the body when they did, that body would have been gone forever.

It has to do with the media there. There were no pictures allowed at the TES searches, so even if they found something which was relevant, but the team leader didn't think so, it is gone forever. It cannot be photographed.

That is one thing I have a real problem with. Everything needs to be photographed EXCEPT bones, or remains in my opinion. You never know when it might become relevant.

Obviously on a search like that not everything can be saved, but they should be photographed if it is a "find" regardless if the team leader thinks it is relevant because many of the team leaders have no real training in search protocol except the few minutes in TES training.

If TEs searched the river with ultra vision ( not sure the right word) and he saw tires & etc, why did he not see the bag with the toys in it? Bag was either planted there or the vision thing does not show up bags. Isn't a bag what they are searching for also?

There is no way to see things like that in silt. I don't care if they have the most sophisticated equipment available it is only as good as the one reading it. You take someone from another state and give them a sonar, put them on a local lake here and they would never find anything. Reason? DEEP MUD

You have to have years of experience in the area you are searching to read and know the bottom of a lake. A river is even more difficult because it is moving all the time. I would guess that river bottom has changed tremendously from the floods.

I was told and I have no idea if this is true, that TES only had one boat besides the volunteers and if that is true there is no way that river was searched. Actually local fishermen would be better qualified to search a lake/river they fished all the time because they KNOW what the terrain under the water looks like. A 50' boat sunk in the river part of the lake here and they brought in divers from Louisana to bring it up. They couldn't even find it. 2 local divers found it in 10 minutes. They knew the currents and the lay of the bottom.

Because you could put the Titanic in that river, have 10,000 bodies in it and when it becomes completely covered in silt that Side Scan Sonar would not see it.

I think that's exactly the kind of toy that would be found in the car of a mom who "hid out" in her car during the day because she had no job. I imagine that Caylee ate a lot of Happy Meals in that car.

I have a friend with two little ones and her car is always littered with little toys like that.

Yes they definately look like 'car toys'. But that makes me think someone was just cleaning out thier car, threw the stuff in a bag and dumped it. Although I dont have a justification for it being weighted down.
