Is a conference on this case that is open to the public to display the record of the case (what can be released). Get all sides in the room and let's establish what is fact and what is not.

For instance, the ransom amount. Somewhere among the Karr debacle, we learned that the ransom did not match the bonus amount....I read that somewhere.

Let's find out if the DNA was contaminated or not.
Let's find out if that was or wasn't a stun gun used on her.
Let's find out once and for all which wound was first.
Let's find out exactly how shady the Ramseys acted (requiring copies of previous statements, demanding combined examinations, etc.).
Let's find out whether all the palm prints on the door are accounted for or not.

Also, it is okay if evidence is interpreted differently. That's not uncommon. But let's put it all out there.

There is so much misinformation out there that there is plenty for each side to use against the other side.

Let's put this to bed once and for all.

Great idea. :woohoo:
I also agree. At least some more information came out when JMK was arrested, but there is still a lot out there that we don't know if it's fact or fiction!
;)

Yeah, unseal the GJ proceedings! Good place to start. What good can it do to keep them secret now?

Also unseal that "secret warrant" for December 26 1996 that was not revealed when the other warrants were revealed.

Even better IMO then a Conference is the Govenor appointing a Special Prosecutor to review all the evidence from day one. A Prosecutor that is not from Boulder, has no affiliation with the history of the case or its key players. I would like to see an unbiased, unfettered decision on it. I would think that would be John Ramseys desire as well. To move past the local Politics and history and try to solve this case.

This won't happen because I believe The city of boulder wants it to go away. For them it had been one screw up after another.

I like your premise of getting rid of misconceptions. I don't think all of it can be settled even with earnest debate among experts. There are still some experts who think the head blow came first. There are some who disagree whether the autopsy points to prior sexual abuse or abuse only on Christmas night. The stun gun, not everyone interprets the marks as coming from a stun gun. That is a theory. The palm prints, I've heard of 2 or 3, and only one identified as Melinda's, yet I didn't hear any confirmation of that. Until this week, the news stories talked about a possible match to Karr's palm print. All of this must have been just speculative. The case is simply not in the news anymore. Did Mary Lacy test John Karr's palm print and rule it out? She never even said. You are right, in that these things are bandied about without any source of the current state of knowledge on them. I think for ten years internet sleuths have debated the stungun and the autopsy and every other detail, and no one side has been proved right. I don't think it can ever happen as long as the experts themselves disagree.

According to JOHN RAMSEY in DOI his bonus amount was $118,117.50. So those that say the ransom amount did not match the bonus are splitting hairs.
