What if...

I am not entirely convinvced a parent is to blame, either......but they know.

Boy, do they know.

It's statements like above that put me back on the fence with John and Patsy.

I can accept an answer of "I don't recall getting any hang up calls prior to Christmas."

But, "We may have." I don't remember."

That to me is unexcusable. Either they had hang up calls or they didn't.If it means maybe having some kind of heads up to the death of my daughter,I sure as hell would make myself remember.

These are things that make me feel that there is something amiss. They know something.

Didn't Patsy's sister say on a talk show (I believe),that Patsy knows who the killer is?

What the heck is going on?
Pam Paugh said she knew who the killer was. But that doesn't necassarily mean she really knows. It could just mean she THINKS she knows who the killer is.

Although there were a couple of hang-up calls that morning.
Suppose the perp called between 8-10, JR delivered 118K as 'instructed,' and the perp got away. Would the crime have taken the top ( I should say bottom) spot from L & L as 'crime of the century'?

Rupert
I've never heard about this, could you fill me in a bit?
Thanks.[/QUOTE]

Google out Lorain Lawrence (found in a ditch with a battered face and plywood covering her) and her mother Geraldine Vodicka ho used to work for the R's.

Coroner says that Lorain got drunk, fell in a ditch and battered her face, and somehow managed to cover herself with plywood. Well?

Maybe another baseball bat?

Also, interviews with Vodicka suggested that PR did not want to hire women prettier than herself. Guess why?

Okay, I'll bite. Why?

  • #26
Oh ok, thanks Rupert.
I vaguely remember that now and I seem to remember someone saying that about Patsy not wanting to hire women prettier than herself.
And to guess why, I'd say because she was a self obsessed woman who didn't like to share the limelight.
Is that a trick question??

Here's some old news on the Lorain Lawrence death:
http://web.dailycamera.com/extra/ramsey/1997/01/10-2.html

I also found on the internet that Ed Will of Denver Post wrote an article about how far the tabs would go to get their readers and referred to the Globe story quoting former R's housekeeper GV who said PR was paranoid that her husband "would be tempted by any pretty young girls he came in contact with."

If GV was misquoted, that was very unfair. If GV was not misquoted then what is going on there? If she was lying then why? If she wasn't lying, then what?

Ok, thanks again Rupert for that link.
I remember that now, my dismal memory just needed prompting.
I don't know which housekeeper you are talking about though, and the initials aren't helping me!
I know of two housekeepers but they're not the right initials.....I remember another one, that used to baby sit too but for the life of me, I can't remember her name.
I tried googling but couldnt find that article either.

What I do know is John Ramsey was capable of lying to his first wife and capable of having an affair.

Capps,
I don't know about what was said in the talk show, but I read in PTPM
that Patsy's friend, Pam, who helped her take a shower got the feeling
that Patsy knew who her killer was and said some weird things while
being heavily sedated. I don't have the book in front of me, but it's early in the book, right after the Rams started staying with friends.

Narla,
I'm with you about his lying! I believe that JR thinks all is fair in love and war, meaning his affair was ok to lie about and the murder of his daughter was
ok to cover-up. I think he justifies things in his mind. JMO

I understand Jayelles on another thread is pretty sure about the affair thing. Maybe that gives credence to the statement by GV (Geraldine Vodicka - Lorrain Lawrence's mom), albeit quoted by the Globe.

Frankly, I didn't give much thought about the affair thing, other than wondering about maybe vengeance from a scorned exlover. If the affair thing is real, then this suggests to me a whole new slant on this mystery.

(I try to use initials as required by websleuths.)

Oh ok, ....it's a worry isn't it Rupert!! (my feeble brain that is lol)
I'm with you now.
It wasn't the house keeper I was thinking of, I was thinking of one back in Atlanta I think.
I'd like to look at that Globe article, but can't find it.

John Ramsey's affair shows us just what he is capable of. He is a liar and a sneak.
John Ramsey himself has admitted to the affair,so there's no possibility that it's not true. It isn't just a rumour.

Can someone help me with this. We're only supposed to use initials?

I guess I see so many names posted that I didn't think it applied. I did

read the terms of use, but then I didn't adhere because I thought it was

ok to use the names. Someone help me please because I think I've

really mucked up.

Sounds like a whole fatal attraction thing. What was her alibi?? I never
even thought about that. I knew he had an affair, but I never thought
about this aspect. Darn it, I've got something new to ponder.

Dont worry about it. I'm sure you are not in trouble.
I thought the only initials we were supposed to use was for FW and DS and NI, so maybe I'm in trouble too because I mostly use people's names!!

I'm not sure what her alibi was, I don't think she ever came out of the woodwork.
I'm not sure if she was even interviewed by police but maybe she was and I missed something.
I know Sissi was speculating that maybe Nick Williams (Maketoast) was Gloria William's (the lady who John had the affair with) son. That would explain his keen interest in the case.

Our rule is that you mustn't name a private individual in connection with the murder - i.e. as a suspect. As a result of one poster's persistence in doing this, we have a blanket ban on two names - DS and NI. Editing is time consuming and posts which contain either of those names are now more likely to be deleted in their entirety.

This does not apply to anyone who has been publicly named as a suspect or person of interest.

Can someone PM me to tell me who these two are. Thank you:)

i read a lot here yesterday...read back on some of the really old posts also...it's extremely hard to figure out all the initials, but i kinda muddled through them...there's just so many people involved w/this case over the years....i figure i'll just ask, if i get really stumped....took me forever to find out a couple of them yesterday...i just kinda stumbled through the posts & eventually found others asking the same questions...lol
