What Is the Defense Strategy #2

You know I sit and watch KC in court and she is organizing the files, wiping down the table, writing notes up the kazoo and now I think about what you just said and I can see her thinking in her mind when Caylee died, "I really don't have time for this. I have a date tonight." Duct tape was the easier way out.

All this talk about blocking things out mentally about Caylee being kidnapped. KC certainly could have blocked out the fact that she killed her child just as well so that excuse could also backfire. I think that in the jailhouse letters KC states (oddly) that maybe Caylee is better off where she is because she never has to worry about someone hurting her (paraphrased). I'm thinking KC is talking about Brandon Snow because he broke up with her. She usually initiates the breakups in her relationships so I don't think she has dealt with that relationship because she had no control when it ended. jmo

Your point about ICA initiating the break up leads me to think that during the trial that ICA will remain true to form and I absolutely expect her to fire one of her attorneys. :twocents:

It is hard for any of us to listen to Mason; hope he improves if he is the one giving the opening statement; because he stutters and uses words such as "trickery" from 1890s and is all around difficult to listen to. He really is. I would rather listent to Baez any day.

But Ashton leaves them in the dust. If I were Ashton, I would speak a little softer when he speaks of Caylee though. It is important that she be looked at and spoken about only in the nicest way.

But Drane Burdick imo is the best. She is just thorough and answers every question as you ask it in your brain.

I was watching the show "The Investigators" last night on HLN.It was covering the Nelson Serrano case. There was a clip of CM giving part of the closing statement on behalf of NS. I was not impressed .

It will sure be very fitting to watch KC just sit there and have to listen to people talking about her in a bad way. I expect some serious eyebrow movement and forehead scrunching.

I am also curious as to how much equipment the DT will sit on her table to quash the camera from viewing her.

Maybe she tried that last week and then rethunk it...

I wouldn't be a bit surprised that a lot of those letters were "staged/scripted" so to speak. I think there's been so much subterfuge behind the scenes I'm wondering if the players even know what's real anymore.
JMO

RR I have always believed this as well. This was ICA planning and maipulating as she does always!

Did we ever see a ruling on the defense's motion to prevent mention of the 31 days?

Yes DENIED!! :)

I don't know about other posters or how they feel about it - but I will not be online at Websleuths during opening statements by both the Defense and the State's Attorneys on Day One.

I love you all, but I find when something "big" is happening with the case and despite 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬's excellent efforts, I get repeatedly kicked off. I want to focus on the courtroom without any frustrations - but I will be coming back at any breaks such as lunch time to carefully read your impressions. Should be quite the wild event.

I believe that the defense strategy is to avoid the death penalty, I think they already know they have no chance for an acquittal. After watching the jury selection it seems they spent the most amount of time, via AF, really gleaning the possibility of mercy, mitigating circumstances, etc. JMO

ITA - the defense knows that they don't have a chance for acquittal. I wonder if KC understands that, or if she's still under the belief that she's going to walk out of court a free woman?

She certainly must realize she won't be walking out of that courtroom "free".

MOO

Whatever strategy they have, I do not believe that KC is even remotely ready for what the prosecution is about to bring. Hard, strong, stealth and ready to kiss major a$#!!! We are now going to hear everything that the SA has against this killer. Remember...they haven't commented or played their hand once in almost 3 years. I'm sure that we are about to be in for a few "real" bombshells!

The puzzle is about to get put together. Add the autopsy photos, huge looming pictures of Caylee and her "voice" when she's talking to Papa and singing her song.....

It wouldn't take me 2 minutes to send that murderer straight to Death Row. Do not pass Go....Go directly to....well, she's already there.

It's about to go DOWN! And I can't wait.

I never get on WS while I'm watching proceedings, because I have such a one track mind. I'm not very good at multi-tasking, in other words.. lol. I always wait till the proceedings are over then come here and catch up. :)

IMO, I believe that she still thinks that she will walk. I don't think the DT have explained to her how bad her chances are.

I hope no one minds me asking this question, it may have an obvious answer but this is the first time I've followed an ongoing trial in America.

I haven't read through this thread so it may have been addressed already.

What is the situation with the evidence and the defense team, what are they privy to? All of it or selected pieces of information?

Also, whatever happened to the video of Casey when she found out from the news that Caylees body had been found, was that ever released, if not, will it be released during the trial?

I'm just going through some of the stuff I've missed, like the Anthony family depositions. I followed it right through the first few months, and kept up to date mostly through 2009. From then on I only checked into WS every couple of weeks so I have missed quite a few things really. So trying desperately to get up to speed on things before tomorrow.

Thank you.

How did she get pictures of the skull? Those pictures were suppose to be sealed by the judge.

I don't know that she saw those pictures. I think the ones she saw were the ones of the skull where it was found (the picture she put, you could barely see anything. She had to point out where the skull was). I think she was just speculating on the ones that show the duct tape. I don't know that she actually saw those.

Mornin peeps! Thanks for the link to the Beast--let's keep this thread on the topic of the defense strategy though, please.

:tyou:

After years of spec re the defense strategy, we're about to find out for certain. Tomorrow the rubber will finally meet the road.

I believe Beaz opening statements will say that Casey has multiple personality disorder.
