What Is the Defense Strategy?

IF (a big IF) George is not a willing participant ... I believe George should let JB and the entire defense team know in no uncertain terms that he will not allow them to use him as an escape goat, he will not allow them to manipulate his own testimony to fit into their strategy. He will stop letting JB spoon feed him on how to answer when he is on the witness stand.
He could stop doing media ops where he defends his Inmate daughter ... because if she didn't do it .... George did!
And he could start attending the Hearings and sitting on CAYLEE's side of the courtroom.

Or, he can roll over and let the Defense try to pull this off, and as Sheaffer said, George can plead the fifth if the Defense asks him if he killed Caylee, and leave the seed of reasonable doubt lingering in the air for the jurors to ponder.

Is there actually any reasonable doubt? ICA's story to her parents of Zanny having the child would seem to preclude her thinking that GA did something to little Caylee. Huh?

Could this be why they did DC deposition today? It's a little late in the game to be taking it now, unless they suddenly decided they needed the information from the investigative statements they had gotten from him. Maybe wanted to nail him down before JB got to him. I don't know. What do you think?????

I think it is a multi faceted strategy ... and we are only seeing the hints of the tip of the iceberg now ... I think they are trying to introduce evidence of George's violent temper ... leading to questions if George killed Caylee.

I think the PTSD testimony will be used to explain to the jury why the Inmate acted like she did in the 31 days Caylee was "missing".

Thank you for taking the time to expand on the DT's intentions.

I can't even get excited enough to work up a head of steam about this one. Too little too late for me.

I can understand Ann Finnell might want to do a little yakety-yak in this area for the mitigation/penalty phase but any more than that....not working for me.

Besides this may be a waste of time if HHJP says :denied: re using these experts in the guilt phase. And without the disassociation in the guilt phase, any efforts to steam roll George will fall pretty flat - IMO.

And if the jurors have heard all the evidence and voted her guilty, I don't think they will be impressed enough in the mitigation phase to do more than "note" this evidence but not consider it weight in their penalty recommendations. IMO again.

So, same question but Ann Finnell :seeya:

So far ,Anne Finnell appears to be a good defense attorney ,actually doing her job. She shows respect to the Judge and to the SA's and they seem to respect her.
She has been focused on mitigation during the penalty phase ,but apparently there is something she believes can be used during the guilt phase.
I would love to know what she thinks of the rest of the DT.

The first time I saw her I thought she was a man. :ohdear:

I am adding these new smilies just cuz I LUV THEM! Carry on.

:denied: :ignore:

If George sits back and allows the defense to pin Casey's murdering her child for whatever reason on him, then for heavens sake, he should take whatever is coming to him, he deserves just as much as she. Especially if he pleads the 5th if asked if he killed Caylee. Right now, I just don't see how he couldn't scream "NO" to the top of his lungs.

This all makes me sick.

Do I owe you a coke - oh no - do you prefer tea?
I think we used "denied" at the same time.
And me too!!

Maybe it's time to create a "different" kind of support thread for George since we know they read off the internet. You know, the kind telling him how he is failing Caylee and the little life she did have if he plays into this one bit. Maybe telling him the difference between what a loving grandfather would do for their grandchildren vs. what a mean, calculated monster would do to their grandchildren would be a start.
Grrrr..
Does he truly love Casey enough to go through their plans or allow himself to be blindsided on the stand? Ugg.. Sickening to even ponder!

LOL I see you like the new smilies too! I want to use them at home.

"Mom ,can I have....." :denied:
"But Moooooom":ignore:

If AF does not play this straight up I will lose all faith in defense lawyers ! :innocent:

So, for George to avoid the steam roller that appears to be rolling towards him, what do posters suggest George do now - specifically? :waitasec:

Something he is not known for doing....TELL THE TRUTH! STAND UP FOR CAYLEE!

I am right behind you ,mydailyopinions . We could offer him a Team Caylee t-shirt. He could do it,too. He could be one of Caylee's heroes . Maybe that should be the title " George ,Be Caylee's Hero!
or George,grow a pair

Here you go Miss James. The defendant was Judy Buenoano, the Black Widow. HHJP then a prosecutor for the state, successfully convicted her and even attended her execution!

Thank You Clockwatcher!
I was reading about her when I was looking for the case, but never saw JBP's name ! Thank You!!!

She drowned her 19 year old disabled son ,didn't she? as well as her killed her husband.

Oh yeah,ICA and the A's should have to read this ever day so they know where HH stands on the DP for women (murdering moms)

1. "Yes, I recognized the smell in my daughter's car as that of human decomposition."

But hasn't he already said that to the LE and it the GJ testimony?

I was really asking this question seriously. I think George should immediately take steps to get out of the way of this steam roller.

So I thought to myself - Hmm - What do I think George should do today - and using what forum? What actions should he take? TV interview? Sit down with KB? Have his lawyer issue a written statement?

He could start by clarifying whether or not he really did see Caylee and ICA leave that day, and go on and on.

Any action ideas.....anyone?

George,
Step one : Go get Mark NeJame to take you back, sans Cindy. Have him arrange a meeting with the SA's that includes use immunity and then start at the beginning.
Picture Caylee thanking her Jo Jo for being her voice.
When you are done,go to your new apt and get your first good nights sleep in almost 3 years.

I believe the timing of the State taking Dominic's deposition today is based on what the Defense did - the Defense waited until now to notify the State that Dominic is a "possible" Defense witness, which puts into Motion the need for the State to take Dominic's deposition now. The State takes the deposition of all "possible" Defense witnesses (18 "possible" witnesses so far).

Oh boy - yes he should so do all of that - thank you!

I was just completely flummoxed as to where to start. George has done a lot in the last two years.

Maybe he could just release a statement that says, " I love my daughter ICA, but I believe she killed Caylee. I will support her as she faces the legal system, but I will not lie for her. I want Justice for Caylee.

Nah, it needs to be far more than that!

But Thinktank - points to George what? What is it you think the DT is doing? Saying George is the cause of this claim of PTSD?:waitasec:

Would that not be after some kind of proof she actually has this "disability"?

A couple of days ago I was thinking about this same questions, logicalgirl, but from the other end. I wondered how they could actually try to have a solid diagnosis of PTSD without having any "proof" of the "trauma" that would have precipitated it. Since it could be such a pivotal piece of the defense it seems to me that, in a court of law, the cause of the onset of PTSD should be firmly established before the dx can be taken seriously enough to decide a case of this magnitude.

If a dx of PTSD were accepted here, without that proof ~ can you imagine the doors that could open for others to abuse the legal system in a like manner? I will be very upset if the defense is desperate and immoral enough to try this!

Right! I'm thinking they are going with not guilty because George did it....but preparing for guilty and then they can say, "SHE's A LUNATIC". Please forgive me for using such politically incorrect terms. Just using the word Lunatic for lack of a better, legally correct word.

Yes, George sorta kinda hinted in that direction, and anyone with 2 brain cells can read between the lines. But he never said that sentence, flat out. Start by admitting whatever is the truth, and stop tap dancing with the words.

Or, see MissJames idea, above.
