What would you ask Kyron's teacher?

IF Kyron's jacket and backpack were in the classroom, I would ask the teacher where she thought he had gone...

All JMO

Was Terri Horman a "parent from hell?" Did she scrutinize and criticize her teaching methods and practices? Did she get a bad vibe from Terri? Did she keep notes on Terri 'just in case' Terri tried to lodge a complaint against her for some reason?

How often did Terri visit the classroom? How often did she email the teacher?

Did she ever feel that Terri would threaten her job and try to get her fired somehow?

Forgive me if this sounds rude but....... what on earth would Kyron's disappearance have to do with whether or not the teacher's contract was renewed?
I don't believe that it matters much what the school administration thinks. And I doubt that they would hold the teacher responsible, since she obviously had nothing to do with Kyron's disappearance. I base that opinion on the fact that LE has never once mentioned anything about anyone at the school as being a part of the investigation.
I could be wrong, but JMO.

If the report of Kyron's deskmate, TP, was accurate, an adult "sub" told Ms Porter that Kyron was missing and Ms Porter replied with "calm down, calm down, he's probably in the bathroom or getting a drink."

If the school administration had reason to believe that statement was accurate, I can't see them renewing Ms Porter's contract! If it were accurate, then that means she was alerted to Kyron's absence early on and apparently never followed up on it. That would be gross negligence.

If that statement were inaccurate, then the other portion of TP's statement, that he saw TMH walking away from the school alone, is also suspect.

Were Kaine and Desiree as involved in Kyron's school activities as his step-mother?

Had Ms. Porter met ever Kaine and/or Desiree?

Did Kaine and/or Desiree attend conferences to discuss Kyron's progress, or was this Terri's responsibility?

How often did Kaine and/or Desiree attend school events?

Is it true that Terri wanted a daily report on Kyron's behavior (per Kaine in recent article)?

As Kyron's teacher, did you feel that this was excessive or that his step-mother expected too much from the child?

Did you discuss this with Kaine and/or Desiree?

.

I don't know about Oregon, but in my state, it would be easier to remove the governor from her office than to remove a teacher from her classroom! Cases drag on for years when school boards try to get rid of a bad teacher. It may be a union thing, teachers with a certain number of years are there to stay (unless they have improper relations with a student, then they can fire them).

Did Kyron typically bring his lunch? Do you know if his lunch was in his backpack on June 4th?

Ms Porter, one of these things cannot be true and you are calling someone a liar. Which one is it?
TP's statement that a sub noticed Kyron gone and you told the sub to calm down, he's probably in the bathroom or getting water; or
You believed Terri had just taken Kyron to a Dr's appt, the appt for which you received the paperwork for the day before.

Which is it?

Did you fill out that paperwork the afternoon of the 3rd and return it to Terri on the morning of the 4th, or do you still have it? Did Kyron's parents sign him out for a Dr's appointment as is standard procedure at your school?

At 10 a.m., you marked him as absent without checking to see if either possibility is true. Why?

Did you at any time see Kyron's father Kaine at the school on the morning of the 4th?

"Ms Porter, was your contract with Skyline School renewed for the upcoming academic year?"

I would want to know because to me, that would be an indicator as to what the school administration thinks happened that day.

If you look on the website, she is there for this year.

IIRC, Kaine helped with the science project. I remember reading this from a web release of a presser really early on.

Terri has on a FB pic of the project, that she helped with the project by laminating and that he did the rest himself.

I have brought this up before. THE appointment may have been on the 11th.

But Kyron could have had a totally different doctor's appointment on the 4th.

A child is not entitled to one doctor's appointment a year.

The state of Oregon has a teacher's site with all of the rules, etc.

There is an enormous list of teachers that have been let go for some reason or another. I was shocked at how huge the list is.

Above BBM... If I am not mistaken[and I'll go look for link to back up]on the day of the 4th many things were not standard procedure such as the 10 am roll call, classes starting later than usual, and the procedure for signing out in the office were not required that day..

No, it was the sign in for visitors that was deviated from that day due to the event. Not the check out for students leaving prior to dismissal that I was posting about. Kyron was a student, not a visitor. :)

The following is a statement relesaed Sunday, June 6, 2010, by Portland Public Schools Superintendent Carole Smith:

snip

We are re-emphasizing our existing policy requiring all school staff, contractors and volunteers to display their I.D. badges and for visitors to sign-in and wear name tags at every school, during school hours. Any visitors who refuse to sign-in and wear a name tag will be asked to leave.

As part of this effort, we will review our visitor sign-in practices for school events that invite large numbers of family members and community members into our schools.

Does this not concern anyone? The sub was obviously panicked, because "calm down, calm down" was necessary to say. Then why in that state of panic by the sub didn't she, the teacher, remember the doctor's appointment?

And, [I just woke up so maybe I'm missing something], then WHEN did Kyron return from getting the drink of water or going to the bathroom????????????????? Why didn't the teacher say 30 minutes later where is Kyron or why didn't the sub? If the sub believed he went to the bathroom or to get a drink, THEN THERE IS NO CONCERN WHERE HE IS THE REST OF THE DAY?

If you believed Kyron was not in class the morning of June 4th due to a Dr. appt., why has it been reported that you speculated he may have been going to the restroom or getting a drink of water when his absence from class was brought to your attention by the adult - who you advised to 'calm down, calm down' (referred to as a *sub* by TP)? Can you clarify this discrepancy?

Also, have you, or has anyone you know, posted comments on local news sites (below Kyron-related articles)? If so, under what names have you or anyone you know posted & on which news sites?

I would like to know when students were assigned to their groups.

SS, do you have suspicions that the teacher posted as someone specific? If so, are you allowed to give a link or user name? Thanks.

I remember DY saying that she " knew the school very well " ( I believe she was refering to the interior of the school, because she was essentially disputing TH;s account of that morning ).
