WHO is searching for Kyron?

I think this case is pretty new, by case standards and is still being actively investigated every day. As far as searching though, it is just my personal desire that groups would be out doing searches on the weekends...maybe not LE groups, just people who want to find Kyron. Most of know that it is seldom LE who finds missing people...it is more often the general public. I doubt a PI is needed at this time unless Kaine or Desiree wanted a certain avenue pursued that was not being done by LE.

It is later on...when/if this case truly stalls that monies collected will be useful to generate new interest and possible leads.

Seems like I recall Jason Gates saying that, while he appreciates the media's exposure of Kyron's case, he hopes that they'll respect the searches that are being conducted. He said that property owners don't like reading about/seeing their property on the news and in the papers...something to that effect anyway.

So I would guess that there may still be searches being conducted when a specific area is of concern. We don't know about those searches, because quite possibly the media is respecting Gates' wishes.

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office search for Kyron enters the 13th week. MCSO Investigators and search and rescue personnel continue to follow-up on information received from the community. Due to this being a continuing criminal investigation the specifics of the search and exact areas searched cannot be detailed. The investigation continues and search and rescue teams will be utilized as they are needed.

That's almost 3 weeks ago. No newer updates.

I can certainly understand why people would be reluctant to cooperate, given the publicity and speculation about other properties searched, the owners and anyone who has had any connection to them, no matter how tenuous that connection may be.

I don't understand why there are no searches being done.

No one willing to do this pro bono for KYRON???
Seems to me Haleigh and Caylee had PI's pro bono.
I would think that PI's would want their names in a High Profile case!
PI's are needed also I do think.
Atleast keeping an eye on the main players TH/DD etc.

Wait- how do we know there has been no PI involvement, pro bono or paid- and the same for searches?
I don't think there's anyway we could know this.

Can parents on their own set up searches? Are there special permits or something that would be needed?

If parents of missing children set up areas to search in an organized way with dates (like Mitrice Richardson's parents) wouldn't people come out for free to help with the search?

Also you know that report where that man said they had two weird sightings of a truck on the day Kyron was missing and at 2 a.m. the next morning? I think maybe that was just some citizen searching on their own. Kind of scary that searching on your own might lead you to be a suspect. EEK.

I was thinking the same thing, but couldn't they get volunteers together and train them on what to do/what not to do and let them search areas around certain places of interest. I have a feeling that if Kyron is ever found or if they find any crucial evidence it will be because someone happened to stumble upon something...If I lived near there I would personally be devoting my free time to scouring those woods and sauvie island for him or some evidence that might lead us to him. why can't they do that?!?! Its super frustrating just sitting here and waiting for something to happen...meanwhile he could be alive being tortured somewhere or his body could be hidden in the woods and all of the forensic evidence will be gone by the time someone just stumbles upon it. (forgive my harsh words, but I am so ready for this child to come home!)

I know I am being naive and my opinions are just my wishes...that people were searching on their own, in some sort of organized fashion. I think forensic evidence is likely gone by now...so finding him is more important than anything else. His location alone may be a big clue. And whether his clothing is mostly intact, etc...

I would want to do what I could re: searching if I lived in Portland area (and if I could walk without a cane...:) )

As a grandmother,if I were told I could not/ should not venture out to find my grandchild if missing...I'd have to say "Sorry Dude Ain't Gonna Happen".."Meet me at the doughnut shop if you are truely interested in finding this young child"....if I had to go hire my own PI,Ex LE,Security Guards,lawyer... whomever...I will not sit on the porch...no way,no how....it is just not going to happen for me...jmo

When asked in an interview whether they'd gone out and searched, Kaine asserted that the did not because they would probably need to be found along with Kyron. Desiree stated that they were told that family doesn't help with searches.

I could see staying out of the way of the professionals in the early days...but after months...I would be gathering up family and friends every weekend...we've seen that in plenty of cases. I think D&K are so determined to not believe that Kyron might be deceased, that they do not want to organize these types of searches, which is their right. But if I were a commuity member, I still might search on my own.Someone has to find him...

I seem to get the impression that many like me are becoming despondent. We don't seem to hear anything positive about searches , plans ,evidence or lack of it. I pray that Kyron is not suffering this long. Can a human being just disappear off the earth?

I'm not much of an outdoor person and would probably not join a search party. That said, I would be happy to provide food, beverages, etc. for searchers if there were a need for this in my area.

I'm right there with you.

I know I am...this case seems to go in cycles, in a way, sometimes it seems as though news is just about to break, other times it seems as though nothing will ever happen. I don't know how families ever survive having a loved one missing. When my sister died and then one of my brothers the next year, I thought that the pain my mom was enduring could not be exceeded...yet now I think that having a child simply vanish must be as bad or worse than certain death. You don't get to go through the normal grieving process, yet you grieve, yet you must keep up your hopes...:(

I believe why there are no further searches for Kyron is LE is convinced that Kyorn is not in the area any longer.

They have checked all the places in the area they know to search and have found nothing.

IMO

Well, further along that video that I talked about, Desiree states "I don't think they want us traipsing through the woods ruining evidence (chuckle)."

They invested their energy in getting bracelets, teeshirts, and buttons made, making sure to get volunteers to feed the volunteers. Everyone does their best in times like these. I can't even imagine. I can't imagine if it was my child I wanted to search for, that's for sure. People have different coping mechanisms. I could not have chuckled thinking about what evidence I could trip over in the woods. We humans are diverse, that is for certain.
