"The program's unusual approach is "shameful," said Al Tompkins, an instructor at the Poynter Institute, a school for journalists. "We have a system in the United States that works pretty well. It's a system of discovery, of hearings, of cross examinations, and it's worked pretty darn well for a long time. We have no business trying this case."

I think it is JB. From http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/en...inda-kenney-baden-tells-48-hours-mystery.html

Snip:
The program also features interviews with defense attorneys J. Cheney Mason and Jose Baez.

Baez says, “I think the evidence is clear that there was a bag of garbage in the trunk of the car in the summer heart for approximately three weeks. The car stunk. There’s no doubt in that. And there is nothing that is exclusive to a human being that was found in the trunk of that car.”

Sound as if JB is just begging for the jury to take a trip to the car.......

No smoking gun BUT...... Anyone remember that "little incident" with Amy's checks. KC was writing them all over town with those video camera's just rolling away. JB had copies of those tapes and still KC denied doing it right up to her court date. KC still has a lawsuit pending in which she is countersuing ZG and has not withdrawn it.

So it's not just one little lie KC has told, it's something KC does to cover up for some misdeed she has done. I have to disagree with her former attorney because this is a blueprint of who KC is.

By admitting there is no nanny the door swings wide open for SA to present their case. She's not credible and has cried "wolf" once too many times. jmo

In this latest promo for 48 hours, (new in the media thread), who is this person that claims there is NO evidence of a dead body in the trunk, only of "garbage"??????

new 48Hours promo
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/48_hou...EUHlzqSSwDqDkb4nLyBWD04&vs=homepage&play=true

Looks like Defense expert Timothy Huntington

1:48 when I look at the evidence
1:49 nothing says dead body
1:50 lots of evidence bag of garbage

And if there was any doubt if that is the Defense jury consultant, Richard Gabriel, on the 48Hours show .... no doubt in this same promo, with a clip with the NAME TAG in front of him

2:08 "RICHARD" name in front of him - he says in all my years as a jury consultant
this is the toughest uphill climb of any criminal case I've been involved in

CBS News said it arranged the focus group, the defense team was not there, and that Gabriel displays some of the evidence from the prosecution and the defense. Even though defense attorneys Jose Baez and Cheney Mason weren’t at the focus group, wouldn’t Gabriel, as a defense consultant, be considered part of the defense team?

There's the problem right there.... Gabriel showed SOME of the evidence. And something tells me it wasn't the most damning against ICA. They were looking for a way to get 12 people to say they would acquit ICA, IMO.

This appears to be one of the most biased pieces of journalism produced to date regarding this case. I will watch it, just to see if I still feel the same way afterward. It isn't fair of me to criticize what is in the show until I have seen it for myself. But the defense hasn't let me down yet.... no reason to believe they will this time.

This is Pipitone spinning again? probably but Baez is releasing this stuff and should be getting in trouble, defense team needs to be gagged and fined for these tactics.

Gabriel works for the Anthony defense team according to his web site, whatever he is doing it is at the explicit acceptance of the defense team, I think HHJP may have a problem with this.

I thanked you, but that just isn't enough. I just cannot fathom how HHJP could go to the trouble and expense and put the state of Florida through the expense of importing jurors from another county when this is going on. It makes me furious and I don't even live in Florida.:banghead:

Yes I agree, I think maybe HHJP should be more concerned about the defense team trying to sway the jurists both locally and nationwide. This is almost jury tampering, I don't know how they are getting away with it, I am shocked.

and then..........there's this:

In the same program, former Anthony defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden says Anthony lied about a nanny kidnapping the toddler. “I think everyone knows that that was a lie,” Kenney Baden says. “Her actions have been her own worst enemy.”

Wouldn’t that violate attorney-client privilege?

“The general rule is as attorneys we are supposed to keep confidences and secrets of clients, even after we are no longer their attorney,” said Professor Bob Jarvis of Nova Southeastern University Law Center. “We take these things to our graves. There are limited instances where an attorney can reveal a client’s confidence and secrets.”

Jarvis said he didn’t think Kenney Baden’s statement would fit those limited instances.

Even if Kenney Baden’s comment is just her opnion, it seems unwise and unprofessional for an attorney to make such comments about a former client who has not had her day in court.

“One of the ethics rules is that you be fair to the court and not impede the administration of justice,” Jarvis said. “You can make an argument that by going on TV that you’re poisoning the jury pool and you’re making it harder to seat an unbiased jury. Even if you’re a former attorney, you’re an officer of the court. This is a duty you have to the judge.”

I have to admit, up to now we have had all the State's evidence -- because of the Sunshine Law -- which helped to make up many of our minds so fully. I can understand the DT trying to get "their" story out there to try to counterbalance. However, you can't cry about tainted jury pools while adding to the taint yourself -- then expect the State of Florida to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to go to another county.

I think I feel outrage at the latest media blitz because I do believe (absolutely) that Casey is guilty. I have to remind myself why I am so sure -- then it all comes back to the above paragraph. Sigh.

Interesting...

The shirt ICA was wearing at the last hearing (the one she looked so happy in) is almost identical to one that one of the women members of the so called "focus group" is wearing. (except for a slight color variation in which CA must have let LE go buy it since he is color blind)

Trying to identify with the jurors? Trying to say "hey, I'm just like you!"

What a coincidence that CA and the DT dressed her identical to a mock juror that they had nothing to do with. (cough, cough)

Although If this is what they are trying to do, I so wish a nun would be selected as a juror.

I walked away from my computer because I was sooooo! pi$$ed off with this whole circus, but I came back to say this:

Baez smirks all the time because behind the scenes he is orchestrating this...manure!! Every time you see him smirk it's because he knows he is gonna get away with some other carp because everyone but him has to play by the rules. The jokes on us and he is laughing in our faces I just hope the jurists (Florida Taxpayers) are just as outraged as we are, and do the right thing. I hope he is disbarred after this and I hope all his cronies supporting or involved in this bizarre spectacle have this stain forever on their career history.....

I would say how I really feel but I would be disbarred from WS..

Dr. Timothy Huntington - forensic entomologist for the defense.

Picture comparison: http://www.cune.edu/about/news/arch...huntington-shares-forensic-science-expertise/

According to this article, Dr. Timothy Huntington is an insect expert, so how is he qualified to determine what was in the trunk? I think JA will be all over this.

http://www.cfnews13.com/article/news/2010/july/121649/Anthonys-experts-examine-the-evidence

"Joining late Tuesday afternoon is forensic entomologist, or insect expert, Dr. Timothy Huntington."

http://www.cfnews13.com/article/new...battle-over-air-science-in-Casey-Anthony-case

"Forensic botanist Neal Haskell said he found tiny (microscopic) flies in Anthony's trunk. Investigators found a large number of gnats in a bag in the trunk. His report, which came out in 2009, said the flies feed off of decomposition.

In January 2011, the defense and prosecution talked with forensic entomologist Timothy Huntington. His deposition was just released last week. Huntington, who at one time studied with Haskell said "the insects are, are not consistent with the presence of a decomposing body."

Haskell's report read, "Paper toweling was used in an attempt to clean the decompositional fluids purged from the remains in the trunk of the car."

However, Huntington told attorneys you can’t say one way or the other if a body was ever in the trunk.

Huntington said the gnats were probably from the garbage found in the car."

I'm not getting this guy's point of view. Either you know these insects feed off decomp or you don't!

True, but the sunshine law just releases all of the raw data. It is not necessarily just the state's evidence. The laws allow the release of the 911 calls and the initial interviews and statements. So IF Casey was truly a victim, and the mother of a kidnapped child, then the Sunshine Law would allow us to see that.

She would have taken the cops to Sawgrass and the video cameras would have shown Zanny driving off in a U-haul with Caylee and her little white dog. The trip to Universal would have shown us Casey's office and we would have met Jeffrey, the guy who introduced her to Zanny.

So the reason that the DT is scrambling is that their client is a thieving, lying, coldblooded killer, and the law has brought those facts out into the Sunshine, imo.

These people are not Casey's peers! Guys, a black guy, and a disabled woman, none of which apply to Casey. Just saying...:truce:

Bless ya Scamperoo. I've been feeling it too these past few days myself. They've set up a meditation room for us to go to should we need it. It can be a comfort on days like this.

----Decision Analysis --President Richard Gabriel--

What We Do:

------------snipped-----

Focus Groups:

------------snipped----------

Decision Analysis specializes in a unique method of conducting focus group research. This type of focus group provides insight into the specific issues jurors would focus on, uncovers landmines, reveals potential needed expert testimony, and alerts us to areas of potential juror confusion.

We screen and recruit participants who are demographically matched to the venue’s qualified jury pool.

A Decision Analysis consultant moderates the research group
to elicit valuable information on how the issues are perceived and decided by jurors.

This type of methodology is used to define case specific issues and how jurors incrementally build a combined story from the parties in the case. As the jurors engage in discussion and debate about the presented case, their feedback enables the trial team to conceive of and articulate the issues from the jurors' perspective, using their words, themes, sequence, and story of the case. This feedback provides the client and the consultants with valuable information regarding:

Juror perceptions of the key issues of the case.
Juror comprehension of important concepts, terms, and facts of the case.
Additional discovery or evidence that jurors may need to decide the case.
Juror reactions to themes, analogies and case issues.

In addition to testing case themes and structure, focus groups can also be used to test very specific aspects of the case. These can be worked into a focus group that tests overall issues and presentations, or can be done as stand-alone groups

Not wanting to quote my own post but, I just found this in the photos of the forensic evidence. I cannot copy the photo as it is a slideshow and it won't allow me to, but I can provide the link. You will have to scroll through a few pics to see what was collected. Amazing that this Dr. Huntington claims the "gnats" were from garbage when they are actually coffin flies that were found in the trunk of ICA's car AND at the site where Caylee's remains were found!
